We have Inuit throat singing here too. They live up in the Arctic region above North America on Baffin Island, they are called the Nunavut people. Also the Alaskan Eskimo have something similar to this kind of throat singing.

@@honeybadgerr.1473 ... I think you're misinformed. Nunavut is a territory, Baffin Island is part of that. Inuit people are not all from Nunavut and Nunavut is not exclusively Inuit either. There are many different Inuit communities across Inuit Nunangat, Kalaallit Nunaat, etc. and as far as I'm aware they are generally all considered Inuit. Not Nunavut people.

Art is subjective ofc, and there's no one on this planet who's sane and would say this could ever have mass public appeal, but her passion to give it her all and bring this to people and do it such justice is moving. Language is just a universally accepted way for humans to express feelings, thoughts, and emotions. This is that, it's the same, it's just raw, and unrefined. I think it's a powerful display.

It starts with uncertainty, agitation and disturbance, then quickly transitions into labour and sorrow (1:12 - 2:30). The tone changs to a happy one (2:34), signifying a successful labour. And then the people start chanting happily and sharing the good news (2:57). Finally, the elder or the gerontocrat arrives and gives the blessings (3:20).

I never would have appreciated this if I never learned to throat sing. I swear, there's just something only us throat singers can hear in unusual music like this. My guess is that it's like when someone can't understand a language completely unrelated to their own (eg English speaker trying to understand Hindi), which can cause what you understand and think sounds cool in the language sound ridiculous and funny to them. Additionally, I've noticed that throat singing tends to make regular singing much easier to control, especially with pitch, because I am normally a baritone to low-baritone when singing, but now I can produce bass without straining my voice. Throat singing is something anyone who wants to be a good singer should learn how to do and get good at because it not only creates an extreme sense of calmness similar to meditation but it allows ridiculously good control over your voice.

Шлю пламенный привет им от русского, с величайшим уважением и почтением, к их культуре, традициям и характерам. Такое небольшое по размерам местечко, но такой значимый по красоте край. Darker skin doesn’t mean cultured. As a matter of fact, as dark skinned indigenous people we consider these folks our family more than assimilated dark folks. Indigenous are indigenous. We answer to each other, not colonizer color politics. That is also a form of violence that silences actual voices. She is representing her culture and regardless of how colonizers respond to our tribes differently(which again is the observation of a colonizer), she would be an honor to stand next to. Validation comes from within, and I’m sure plenty of assimilated people who look like her have had a thing or two to say about her anyhow, because color doesn’t protect the indigenous from constant infringing and assimilation tactics that never ended. So when we see this as indigenous people, color plays absolutely no part and honestly these color politics comments annihilate whatever transcendental message she may be trying to convey by bringing it right back to prioritizing the mentality of the weak assimilator( which come in many colors and are ALL equally as uncultured because they assimilate into cultures that are not theirs). What you just complained about people doing to “colored” indigenous people , you’re doing to her. If you’re not a pale indigenous person, your perception of them is exactly that, perception. Based on your idea of another which you have been told by the very people trying to wipe out ALL tribes regardless of color, and allow assimilated folks to live on those lands (regardless of color)because they jump when you say jump.
