This is what an MVP is all about, pitched a complete game 1 hit shutout and then hits 2 HRs all on the same day.
It's probably the best day ever for a baseball player. A no hitter with 2 hits, like Roy Halladay had in the 2010 NLDS is close.
Roy Halladay had the best day I ever saw though, I watched live as he threw a perfect game and drove in 2 RBI in May 2010.
This overall day by Ohtani is better IMO since he had to play 2 games, and he still brought it hard the 2nd game.
AND he hit two homers. Unfuckingelieveable!! And I'm a lifelong Tigers fan! This guy is just unbelievable.
And now he has hit 2HRs in the 2nd game. What an insane day for Sho-Time!
A complete game shutout then a 2-HR game after. Possibly the best double-header performance of all time!

111 pitches thrown is very low. Most TEAMS average over 130 pitches for a complete game.

What a baseball player! He pitched the shutout game and blasted 2 HRs later in the 2nd game. He is just an absolute force in this universe. Angels would keep him for this season (no trade) and they must go on to the postseason.
He would have hit 3 homers in a game if the Angels didn't pull him out after the 4th inning with 5 more innings to go. They just wanted him to take a rest.

In the first game of the doubleheader, Shohei Ohtani threw a 1-hit shutout. Then, minutes later, in the second game of the doubleheader, he hit a homerun. The pitcher who threw a shutout is leading all of Major League Baseball in homeruns.
This is amazing. Every time I hear about Ohtani's little slump (finger nail, no hit, etc) and start worrying, he bounces back and shocks me with a bigger accomplishment. Yeah, there is no way Angles would trade Ohtani. Even if I knew I would lose him next year, I would not allow myself to be called "the one who traded Ohtani" in the history book.

What a day i got to see both games my first and second baseball games ive ever been too and let me tell you it was loud as a tigers fan i was screaming for him actually all us at the game to day were cheering against are team for ohtani
Can you think of anyone, in any generation, who has achieved what Shohei is doing? Shohei is not merely a generational baseball player; he is a unicorn, the God of baseball. It's highly unlikely that we'll witness another player like him at this level in our lifetime.

This man's unbelievable! Every MLB pitcher that pitches at his level would want to rest their arm after a complete game, but he just goes and hits 2 homeruns RIGHT AFTER the first of the double header. INSANE!

@@busterbiloxi3833 I agree with you in part, Bo and Dion was an amazing athletes, and I saw them both from the start in the 80s, but remember pitching & hitting is also a totally different skill set, and Bo and Dion they were good to average baseball players but they were really good in football, that's the difference, Shohei is great at both and a Pitcher is more Important than a running back or a cornerback. John Smotz said a Pitcher is like a QB in football that controls the game and the results.
