I can't stop watching videos on this new Aviator! I really like the deep thought, quality, and attention to detail that they put into it.
Lincoln hit this car out of the park and into the lake. The Aviator is such a delicately designer car. I think it’s best in class in looks and when you consider the price, this is tough to beat.
@Marius Ipad - Planned Obsolescence? Ford's are Continuously Upgraded from year to year. So from one year to the next,
makes the previous year obsolete. Hence Rapid Depreciation.
@@Ford_Raptor_R_720hp_V8 ---Rapid depreciation is more due to half assed development and then denying there's a problem---see Fiesta and Focus dual clutch trans. problem. If it wasn't for this being brought out in the open none of the people that bought these POS cars would have any recourse for repairs paid out of pocket for something that never should have went into production when it wasn't close to being sorted out at the R&D level.
@@robertjones7565 same as v8 4Runners which developed exhaust manifold cracks due to design flaw. Toyota never owned up to it despite numerous law suits. All auto manufacturers are guilty of that sort of thing.

Judging by brand is never good. I've got a 14 Escape and it's both a tank and a reliability star. No issues, just gas and oil/fluid changes.
good job Ford
Lincoln is doing a great job at making a comeback. Nice to see real American luxury from a brand that was known for that.
Ford did a fantastic job
Nope, people say that everytime Lincoln comes out with a new vehicle, they they fail. EVERY TIME! This is no different. Pure junk.
@@Random-ye1xr Navigator is doing so well that Cadillac lowered the price of the Escalade by 10k... hmmm
Brodie Knopf That’s not true. Cadillac lowered the price of the Escalade because the current model is 6 years old. They had to do something to keep sales coming in for the outgoing model especially with Cadillac customers knowing the new and improved redesign 2021 Escalade will be here soon. Had very little to do with the Lincoln which still doesn’t nearly as well as the Escalade.
@@Random-ye1xr shut up import junk lover who cares what you think
My friendship with Cadillac and the Germans has ended. Lincoln is my new best friend
Dan K. Memes Right? That is a gorgeous ride.
Until its in the shop cause its a shitty Ford.
Big mistake!
Well some people regress.
Lincoln is making an astonishing comeback. Aviator and navigator are both so beautiful
My wife wants an Explorer, I hope she never sees this video...my bank account couldn't handle buying this. What a beautiful luxury SUV. Great video as always.
If you’re looking at a mainstream level of trim for your Explorer then go for it by all means. If you pass the $50,000 mark go for the Aviator. The loaner cars and total Lincoln Concierge experience will be worth it.
Take a loan and buy Lincoln
Don’t buy. Lease for 3 years. Explorer does not have resale values.
@@wentfishing this won't either. I expect low 50s residual on these regardless of how well they sell.
Show her the tip trims of the Telluride/Palisade. If she likes it, your wallet will thank you.
Looks like it will be a strong offering from Lincoln. I'm glad they dropped the lame mkz mkt etc nomenclature and went back to their roots of actual names for their vehicles. Good job Lincoln!
Agreed. Named cars bring us on fantasy vacations like; Riviera, Eldorado, the Galaxy etc.....
How does someone warm up to a series of numbers and letters. They’re so sterile.
@@LlyleHunter notice nobody ever gave Cadillac crap for that? - 3 letter named cars.
@@pablojose4890 Yup, They didn't give Audi; Acura; BMW crap either
as a lincoln fan I was really sad when they made the change glad to see the names back!
I never understood why american luxury manufacturers stopped using their old nomenclature, names such as LaSalle, Deville, Cosmopolitan, Continental MK series to name a few. It just sounds so much better than the boring german or asian rivals and shows the American opulency and greatness much better, instead of boring acronyms and Numbers. Cadillac should go Lincoln’s route
You can really tell that a true "capital D" Designer was in charge. Right away when he mentioned "sticking to the four pillars" I knew this was going to be thoughtful. Everything down to the armrest-cubby-clip-wireless-charging just blew my mind. It's just so incredible and makes my heart fly.

Stormy D. No it is not. This will compete with the newly redesigned short wheelbase 2021 Escalade. They will both compete in the RWD luxury SUV market with the X7, GLS, and Range Rover.
This should win Motor Trend SUV of the year....no other SUV/truck out at the moment is more revolutionary than the reborn Aviator....well done Lincoln...too bad I can't afford one. Reminds me of when the groundbreaking Lincoln LS debuted for 1999 as a 2000 and won COTY.
LOL !!! Motor Trend...enough said.
Motortrend is terrible these days...
@@jordancatcher6663 Terrible or not they're still recognized for their COTY awards globally. Car manufacturers and the public look at stuff like that and advertise it as so. I agree their journalism isn't what it used to be but neither is alot of others such as Car and Driver. UA-cam videos are the reviews today many look at, not magazine articles since alot of ppl don't buy magazines anymore lol
TheSisko4876 Agree! Motor Trend and Car and Driver are more interested in the Foreign Crap I have no interest in. They should each put out Import and Domestic separate editions
I think this looks much better than the XT6. Saw an XT6 the other day and it lacked Cadillac's edgy straight lines. It just looks like another GM crossover.
Agreed. A Cadillac is suppose to be angular and cut looking as if it was fashioned by a diamond cutter.
I agree , I feel if the xt6 used art and science design language and put some flare of the escala like the ct6 , it would've been amazing. Xt6 design isn't bad , however it's certainly not the best looking of the bunch.
It doesn’t really catch my attention, if I see it I won’t freak out or even raise my eyebrows,,
This is the American luxury SUV to get! Much more appealing than anything an American car company offers this side of the Trackhawk!
This is sexy. I have a navigator, which I love, but do like the smaller package of the Aviator. The proportions are about perfect on the Aviator. Another homer for Lincoln, and to think, a few years ago I thought Lincoln was DOA.
right?!
I had an 04 aviator. It was totally badass.
The new navigator looks really good
Cadillac: I'm luxury
Lincoln: Hold my beer cause I'm about to ruin this man's career
FADED '03 But...this is a $90,000 Lincoln though...🤔
mybro727 and an Escalade is breaking 100k and this is WAY nicer than an Escalade.
jesse burnett Lol. The 2021 Cadillac Escalade hasn’t even been revealed yet so which Escalade is this nicer than? Oh! You must mean the 6 year old 2015 Cadillac Escalade that actually competed with the PREVIOUS model Lincoln Navigator? You’re comparing the 6 year old 2015 Escalade design to the brand new 2018 Navigator/ 2020 Aviator because to Lincoln fanboys that makes complete sense. 😂🤣😭🤦🏽♂️
The best part about the Aviator is it takes regular 87 octane fuel. Unlike many luxury SUVs, it won't require premium fuel. When you fill a vehicle of this size, it makes a BIG difference. You'll probably save $20-$30 per tank depending on where you live.
The gift that keeps on giving.
It won't require high octane fuel, but I drive a twin turbo Lincoln from 2010 and mine doesn't require it either, but they say in the owners manual that though you can regularly put 87 octane in, they prefer higher octane fuel for performance reasons. I only put high octane in my Lincoln for the sake of a healthy car at it's old age. I'd imagine this Aviator will have the same thing written in it's owners manual which will make the dependence on high octane fuel debatable honestly. But you're right, it CAN run on 87 octane just fine.
@@man_on_wheelz That's good insight. There are two reasons Lincoln cars take regular 87 octane fuel. First, they save cost by being able to use similar engines as Ford. Second, a large portion of their sales are to fleet/taxi companies, who prefer cars that take regular fuel in order to make more profit per mile.
@@FuelEconomyTest Really good point, that's a really good point! The fleets probably do demand that they make it possible to put 87 in the tank which makes sense why they've made it so the car can still run on 87 even if the engineering of it typically demands higher octane. I know one thing, I love everything about my Lincoln MKS, I sure hope I can someday pick one of these up used in the future.
I like how there are some classic 60's details in the car, like the toggle for the exterior lighting and the push button transmission selector reminds me of classy cars from the early 60's
Jason W+ I agree, it gives the car a sense of “class”. That is very hard to find in a luxury car these days.
Jason W I have read all the Consumer Books and they cannot Stand Lincoln’s Push Button Shifter. I have a Lincoln and Absolutely LOVE IT AND ALL THE EXTRA ROOM IT PROVIDES along with the extra storage. PROGRESSIVE THINKIN LINCOLN!!!❤️❤️
Fran B+ Yeah, they’re so nice. I love the feel of them every time I switch gear.
@@Mvile1 I like the buttons in the Lincoln. The car with the weirdest setup is my friend's Tesla Model 3. There's no physical controls for a bunch of stuff, like seat heaters and power mirrors....all of that is in the iPad style dash. May seem cool, but when the car is driving down the road, it is very hard to pick the correct "button" on screen. And for the passenger, it is annoying that I can't easily find how to adjust seat heater without being very familiar with the car.
I'll take the Lincoln approach any day!
John Davis... You and your team knocked this OUT of the park! Excellent craftsmanship and attention to details! The Aviator is about to change the game!
That was a great review... That car will sell... Ford needs to give Lincoln more autonomy so that the next batch of products would still take them up a notch....
Lincoln has once again taken this to the next level and has thought of that
The door handle and spot where you put the key in emergency spot on the door actually has been around since the Continental came out a couple years ago
Lincoln has now done what cadillac should have
Lincoln is officially better than Cadillac in every way at this point. Styling, interior, features, even naming structure (I can tell the difference between an Aviator and Navigator, but I have to think for a moment which models are the XT4, XT5, and XT6
@@InfamousWolf89 Cadillac is trying to copy the German brands while Lincoln is staying true to its own brand identity
I agree but Cadillac will outsell this by double.
@@EGGINFOOLS But remember. A financial success doesn't automatically mean it's better overall and critically.
@@thecriticalthinkeroutsidet4947 I know. Which is why I said I agree above about the original post.

Cameron D.F Chisholm my uncle owns a 2018 Q7 I drive frequently and I work for Jaguar Land Rover and I myself am a longtime BMW owner... So I know nice cars. And I agree with your statement! As long as this car is as nice to drive dynamically as the Q7 id rather have the aviator
I thought the same its size numbers on paper looked really really good. I looked at in person yesterday at our local dealer. I even brought my cloth tape measure I was confident this would be my next ride!! Nope!! The interior follows the theme of tight cockpit feel I flew planes for years even the Cessna 172 feels roomy compared to how the seating dynamics are in the Aviator!! I was shocked actually at how cramped it feels. Then came the rear hatch size you know busy dad with 2 kids and a dog stuff? The rear hatch is nearly identical to my 2010 Subaru Outback! Yes its smaller than the 2020 Outback rear hatch!
These are just really big cramped feeling 4 seat sport wagons you guys. I would even go as far to say the Larger Audi Wagon / VW Passat has more open spacious feeling interior.
I my shock / disbelief and disappointment was so obvious the sales guy said look this probably isn’t the right vehicle. Before I even was convinced it was all wrong for my needs.
Trent Watkins
You should go for the navigator. Not as much neat electronics but has the size you crave.
Change to think that is built on the same platform as the Explorer but with more tweaks added to it

Funny how you could use a shortened phrase correctly, but are unable to interpret one? No, (the Aviator theme is not limited to Saab). Designers have been using aviation themes forever. Perspicacity: The parenthetical is implied, but not spoken.

I like the low stance. Almost looks like a wagon. Lincoln obviously knows customers will never take this offroad and didn't compromise ride hight.
Also interesting that the fact the Aviator features 2nd row cooled/ventilated seats is being skipped over. Can’t get that on the X5, MDX, Q7 or GLE.
Little things that count
You can get in on the Kia Telluride
And the Volvo doesn’t have an auto fold up feature; you have to manually pull the 3rd row back into place using a cord. In the aviator, it’s all automatic.
MrDragonsPit76 You’re correct and it’s amazing how in many Telluride reviews that is also skipped over like it’s no big deal
Copyright reasons? Just load royalty free music on your phone to demo it!
It doesn't really matter though since it can't sound the same listing from a PC or phone anyway.
Wow jaw dropping. I know owe a 2004 Aviator and still love it. So easy and manageable to drive, still drives like new so reliable. I would love to upgrade to this baby in the future.. Great job Lincoln...
That title in the subscription list says "and one that blew us." I laughed for a good minute. Sounds like I need a 2020 Lincoln if that's the case.
You'd never ask someone 6'2" to go in the 3rd row though. Shortest goes in there, taller go in seats with more room.
Al904cc+ Tallest takes shotgun with massaging seats!
in a navigator somebody who is 6'2 would have no problem in the 3rd row.

I have owned an Aviator & Navigator as well as 15 other luxury cars in the past. I am very excited to see this car again. The Aviator was one of my favorite cars to own.

This John Davis apparently says "fuel station" as opposed to the term gas station. I literally have never heard anyone call it that before. I get that it is technically speaking the correct term but it still sounds a bit pretentious to me.
Gorgeous. It may be on our list when car buying comes up again.
Dooo it!
It has my vote
YES GET IT!
Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Was that an actual complaint about having multiple ways to interact with the car?? God bless American made cars. They just can’t win with these reviewers. Same complaints would be praise had this been a Mercedes, BMW or Audi.
1betterthanyou1 Lincoln has once again taken this to the next level and has thought of that
No, id say the same about the germans. Too many touch screen surfaces, buttons, and other garbage take up the driving experience. A simple radio, simple hvac controls, and an actual gear shift lever work just fine.
LRulesTheWorld Yeah it's classic and it's great but you gotta accept change. Keep in mind car companies have to please the majority to make sales. If you want a simple radio and a shifter go for the 4runner Trd. It's a great new 2000s suv. But I like where Lincoln has headed, they have to compete with the Germans to survive

I love it. I love how Lincoln has differentiated itself from the Ford brand.
Is the Combination keypad entry system on the driver's door still, or has it been deleted on this new 2020 body?
I’d love to see this car (specifically the Hybrid) race the Range Rover Sport, with the 5.0 V8 Supercharged. I think the Lincoln will be a really good competitor since it has SIX HUNDRED AND THIRTY POUND FEET OF TORQUE! 😱
Rhy Dynamic it’s honestly insane numbers
Skyforce 213+ Oh, for sure. It’s like almost 100 more torque than a Range Rover Sport SVR.
It would be a good race being that they both have almost the same drivetrain
Rhy Dynamic Except the Aviator’s power doesn’t provide much of any additional performance. It’s just numbers. I’ve read articles saying there isn’t *that* much of a difference in power feel at all. The hybrid system also adds an additional 800 lbs to the already hefty Black Label Aviator which makes for a harsher ride compared to gasoline only Aviators. Lincoln didn’t do anything to fix that either. Still, I would like to see this race. I wanna see exactly how bad the RR Sport would leave this thing, it may not be bad at all...perhaps even a close race?
As a Lincoln owner, I'm very happy to see Ford is investing money in their Lincoln brand. The front end of the new Aviator looks incredible, but the rear end full-length taillights are not. Having a separation between the taillights would look a whole lot nicer. This is also my nick pick of the new Navigator.
I'd love it if it they brought back the lincoln mkx 2007 rear lights.
I know this was four years ago, but I just got my 2022 aviator and the long strip led tail light is what drew me to it! That is so sexy to me especially at night. Before I knew what the car was, I used to see one going down the road, I would be like what car is that! And now I know.. it’s now my baby Avi♥️

Unbelievable. This looks amazing, such a breath of fresh air after all the german brands.. But why, WHY dont they offer a V8 with this? Why stop just right before crossing the finish line, why not go all the way?
To me power wouldn't really mean nothing to me in this car. If had this I would just be cruising and chilling.
@@optimusprime5166 Great, then you could buy the V6 version. But why not give a V8 version to those who do care about power?

I'm crossing my fingers that 3.0L V6 twin turbo Ecoboost finds its way into the Bronco too ...
Jack Stewart The 3rd+ Yes, but 400HP is not enough! So, they even offer 494HP only with the hybrid!
Unfortunately it's a bit of overkill and it shows up in the mediocre MPG numbers. I can't help but think, "it's 2019 and we're still getting MPG that matches 1999?" I get there is more power in smaller engines/turbos, but I'd think with newer technologies cars would be powerful enough and make MPG of my youth seem like gas guzzlers...but we're stuck in neutral. Maybe it's to force us over to electric? Conspiracy? Oh, and so you know I am not banging on Lincoln so much as the auto industry in general, the new Audi Q3 (sub compact SUV) gets 19/27 with a 4 cylinder...now THAT is truly awful MPG, rivaling 1980s numbers.
