  • Originally from Vancouver, WA, Robin's journey brought her to Houston, TX, where she discovered the transformative APG model of peer support in 2013. She became a dedicated family participant in Lifeway International's APG program, joining alongside two of her teenagers. It was in this family group that she embarked on her own path to long-term recovery, inspired by the stories and journeys of other parents. Robin takes immense pride in her commitment to sobriety since 4/1/2015.
As her family completed the program, Robin joined the team as their Parent Program Coordinator. In this role, she supported groups of families at various sites throughout the greater Houston area, leaving a lasting impact on countless lives.
Robin also briefly served as an administrator for a recovery high school, frequently working alongside the students she supported. After earning her BS in Public Service Leadership from the University of Houston, her passion for making a difference in the lives of struggling families persisted. She specialized in training families in compassionate intervention techniques, drawing inspiration from her training in the CRAFT model, family recovery coaching, SMART Recovery, and the 12 Steps.
In 2021, Her roots beckoned her to the Northwest, where she recognized the need for the APG model. She helped establish Washington State's first APG as their Family Program Director before she and her husband moved to the Portland, OR area to be closer to their grandchildren. In response to the lack of youth recovery support in Portland, she founded Collective Roots APG, filling a crucial gap in comprehensive support for struggling youth and their families.
Beyond her work, Robin and her husband enjoy life's simple pleasures, like fishing, biking, camping, kayaking, and time with their three cherished grandchildren. Robin also serves on the board of the Association of Alternative Peer Groups as Board Chair. Her unwavering vision is to expand the APG model of recovery across the nation, where families can discover mutual support and become firmly rooted together in the journey of recovery. Her commitment to this noble cause is an embodiment of hope and resilience for countless families on their path to healing and wholeness.
