- I've made an Airless Tire like Michelin UPTIS, using windshield sealant
• I've made an Airless ...
After Michelin revealed the Demonstration of this new Airless Wheel Technology, I made my own Airless tire.
In my first attempt to make a car tire out of silicone, I used 40 cartridges of acrylic sealant, and the experiment failed :))
In the second attempt, I used a windshield sealant, one cartridge cost 9.99$, and I've used 43.
If you wonder why I did this, the answer is just for fun.
In the first attempt to make a tire, I put the Acryl on the rim in 2 hours.
In the second attempt, I put just 2 cartridges a day it took 20 days to put the silicon on the rim and another one month to let it dry.

@Israel Wesley i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm trying it out atm.
Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
An idea similar to this might be good for spare tires. So you don't have to worry about checking the air pressure in the spare and then if you forget to check it, you aren't surprised the spare is flat when you need it most.
I have a 12v mini compressor in the trunk

Good thing this channel took his video and claimed it as their own.

"Real life test": proceeded to do a burnout 😂
😜
Yeah raymond didn’t you know every time you take off your meant to spin em up we’ve all been driving wrong
Seriously 😂
No Its Launch Control
“Burnout”
Goes to show how incredible strong windscreen adhesive is
I use it to put side trim on the 80s cars I work on..
I use it to put wind screens on
That looked like hard work, but the end result amazed me, it stood up to the tests better than i could have imagined.
Nice job
Take it to Bonneville !
The actual tires cost cheaper than that glue
Georgio Ocean That tells us how overpriced a tube of caulking really is.
Ok boomer
According to the description it ( sealent) is worth about $430
@@toheedsultan8263 you still say that?
Obviously
Those held up surprisingly well. Looks like you've got a decent temp spare now
this is called passion of engineering work
Engineers have to contemplate physics in what they are doing
That did a lot of good things I didn’t expect. Like sitting up when it started rotating and having excellent self-damping.
The problem is that the tire is very expensive and and has a lot more material which does not help pollution, and it cannot go so fast because if it does then it can tear from the traction with the ground
When your tire blows and the closest shop is home depot
😂
Loved the 'real life test', it made perfect sense :))!
10 years later it still hasnt finished curing
Holy crap NASCAR is coming for you to make their tires!!! Good job!!!!
Give him a hand of applause...
It would be fine for something like a warehouse fork lift or something that never went over 10kph, when the tyre wears down you could just add more sealant.
Really cool he cleaned that up... That’s a stand up guy right there 🤙🤙
Held up way better than I thought it would!
One day we might hear about you again when you make it big with your inventions. Pretty cool
Very good that's how inventions are accomplished trial error and dedication!
Police man: "These tyres are under the legal limit for tread"
**gets silicone gun out**
That you actually balanced it too! I lolled at the tire weights there haha
10:10 respect 👏
5:49 I lost it at the pile of tire weights as the wheel rotated around...
C’mon man, he knocked it up using ‘black acrylic’ I have just seen the Michelin test, now if you were to do a more precise job using a more measured approach, then this could seriously work, for someone, just ‘having a go’ I am amazed, as far as the comments of it not being round enough, just think of the increased contact patch. Get a tread pattern bonded to it and you have a winner I am massively impressed by this even working. I mean a burnout and it didn’t fly apart!
if you let each layer cure before applying the next it might actually be a viable method to make an airless tire. come the pockyclipse, i'll have to try it.
Please update me on the results when you've completed this project. I'm thinking about trying this idea for my e-bike.
Probably the best home made tire ever I have seen
Add a tread pattern could be brilliant.
It's cool that you made that yourself and it actually worked that well!
If my jack made that noise letting it down I'd be in bed with it.
That was cool, but seems like common tires more durable than glue tires
thats why all that is needed to be done now is to add a conventional tire layer to roll on the ground.
Bruh obviously this was just for fun🤦♂️
@@pineappleboi27 bruh obviously it was a joke 🤦♂️
worked better than i expected XD
As vezes desafios diferentes custão erros inesperados, mas a persistência eleva sua sabedoria!
Parabéns!
Actuall car companies should learn from how this guy did a whole section of real life tests which mainly consisted of burnouts
Thanks for taking the time to make this video, I really enjoyed it.
Your patience is admirable.
In years to come, all tires may be like this. Comments will then applaud this maverick for such vision and research.
Michelin are developing a tyre to be ready for 2024
Great concept, experiment and trial video. Keep it up!
That is really amazing man. I hope to see your work in the future in stores
@Funny Stranger This could easily be ‘engineered’ in to the tyre depending on materials used. Imagine, no punctures!
Me- Mom make me a Windshield sealant only cake this time on my birthday. Here's the recipe.
Fantastic Outro!
I would totally buy an airless tire like this as an extra wheel of course professionally made with advance technology not with windshield sealant. But concept is amazing.
A little bit of research and development, and you could easily is these tires for a number of applications.
I feel bad about him cz all the struggle was in vain in the first attempt... Well done BTW
I like that you swept at the end

Amazing test, tks 4 share!
Nice job man one of the cooler vids I've seen in a while glad you didn't give up I'm sure it wasn't cheap 😂
Let me spent $1000 on a $40 tyre.
I'd like to see where you get your tires from if you're only paying 40 bucks
Nice video! A follow-up with 4 tires, maybe a bit more material, a more round tire if you can make one, and a lot more footage and testing with usage would be amazing!
That is just crazy! But thank you so much for the share . It was very cool to watch respect!
Totally just as good as some retread tire shops around where I live! 😱😬😱
Use it as a spare tyre, cuz at least you don't have to remember to inflate it like most of us forget to.
Fucking Right!
Thanks bro, I cracked the hub on one of my e-scooters and now it won't hold air when tyre is fitted and I'm far too poor ATM to replace hubmotor. your video just made my day, literally in the parking lot of autostore about to stock up on "magic tire goo" 😉
You go for it!
You gotta give him credit for the effort, I mean 30 days to dry 💯.
Congratulations my dear 👍👏good works..
I bet your arm looks like Popeye's now.
6:53 Oh shit... this looks and sounds like a tank moving...
Impressive for only 2nd attempt!! 👏
At least you will never get lost. Just follow the trail it leaves all the way back home
I feel like 3d printing is the future of this tire type
Hi Epstein, how is Israel? Thanks for letting us know who whistle faker is
exceptional lateral stiffness of the (non-existent) sidewall, resulting in the superb camber control
Nothing can compare to the Michelin airless tire if it doesn't have that satisfying shock absorbing structure but I appreciate the effort 👏
Oh he's making a cake, man that's not hard!
perfect tire to put it on the market does not pop if pierced holds for a long time a good patent
Now for the 60-0 mph brake test.
You 3d printed a tire, nice
Wow! You deserve a Nobel
Keep experimenting untill u get to the level of Michelin tires..good luck
This is originally wat utube was made for! And ofcource cats!

Now every getaway car will have those. Can’t be punctured.
Interesting...I do like the fact that he cleaned up the debris vs just leaving it there to be washed in the sewer.
That held up a lot better than I thought it would
That was every bit as dumb as I hoped and I love it.
Who is going to be laughing when I drive a truckload of nails?
9:25 wow, really impressive, got yourself a winner here; that airless tyre sprung up like a real air one. Maybe an idea to design a 3D printing program for this to save yourself time if you'd ever go big market with this one. I'd say, somehow stick a tyre tread around it, that'll take care about your wear and your dealings with wet conditions and whatnot.
In the future also off road tyres like these available??
I hope to see more of this.
Appreciated for your experiment and effort
The movement of the tire spinning while transmission driving looks uneven. Much improvement is required. Welldone! Try more something with patience. Success will results at the end of more attemps made by you. Full support. Try to test the durability. Try to know how long it could last. You'll surely have the patent ownership. Wish you best of luck.✌👍🙏🌹
The tire is beautiful. It costs a lot of glue, huh. I like your way
this is the most bush mechanic thing i have seen done to a car
Keep it up. U will surely gona find some way. India
These would be great for use in a salvage yard. It seemed like we popped tires every other day on our yard cars
this would last maybe a day tops on any vehicle lol.
Bugatti need your contacts as they want a Chiron 600 km tire.
Pass with flying colors
i respect your Dedication man
😊👍👍
Hahaha love the amount of wheel weights there are
Your idea is amazing but you need something to protect the last layer like a normal rubber tire
I've made it just for fun but thanks for the advice

You should try making a wheel that drives itself.
Thickness of wheel need to be measured before and after test.
Outstanding bro keep it up👍🏻
that's a really bold title man...
im certain the engineers at Michelin will appreciate the comparison after seeing your on par craftsmanship.
good concept
This thing you are calling airless tyre is in fact a solid tyre, and it is at least a 100 years old idea.
I believe they did it in cross patterns to allow air bubbles for cushion...which makes it technically not airless or solid....the Michelin tires are technically solid since there is no sidewalls to trap the air
Well, isn't a solid tire airless?
Booger Eater there will be sidewalls they just did that so you can see how it works because if there wasn’t sidewalls rocks and ice and other thing would get in there
@@Riley_Edgar25 but if it's sealed then it's not really airless, the air just isn't compressed
Booger Eater I think the idea of it is that you won’t have to fill with air ever
This is a great idea for riding mower tires and wheelbarrows.
This is basically a solid thing.
Urethane windshield adhesive is expensive.
His hands must have hurt because of all the pumping of those sealants... :-o
Wow will do that. Gonna make mine square. :)
I think that it held up suprisingly well.
