hold the brake (down arrow) until the bus is idling, usually takes about 3 or 4 secs, then with the down arrow still pressed, press pg up or pg down depending on what gear you want.
Those who are having problems with the hand break here is what you can do to fix it- first hit esc then go to settings then controls then to vehicle then go down to the control that says " brake gear" or something and the Control to that is "insert." If you click on "insert" it should go red as soon as it does hit any key on the keyboard you want to set it to. Make sure to save and then " hold backspace while you click the key you set it to." hey dude I had the same problem with my Ferrari gt experience racing wheel and pedals. After a Long time researching this topic, you have to go back to old drivers for the game to read the wheel and pedals. In my case I went to the wheels website(thrust master that is) and reverted back to drivers back in 2007. Crazy but it worked. Here's some help:

I also bus simulator, it says Release HandBrake performed two keys backspace - Down - Insert. What should I do? I have used these keys, but do not! the handbrake! 1 way or another

I cannot use my G27 racing wheel with Bus simulator 2012, it shows the wheel / game pad otion menu as grey, and I cannot choose it, it does recognize my Xbox 360 controller but not my G27 wheel? Any help? I got the english version "European bu simulator 2012" I really need help guys.

Are you holding Backspace too?
Have you tried the english version already? Should be easy. Anyway I'll make a tutorial about that as soon as I can.
go to the support tml studios site and look up racing wheel bus sim 2012. Translate with chrome or firefox language translator extension

Actually is Backspace + Insert by default.
Unfortunatelly it seems not to be the best way to handle handbrake. Most of people have problem with it. :/

***** I think you have to close the doors first and then hold the down key and press page up. Seemed to work for me.
