- Is Globalization Good or Bad? Dive deep with me, Cory, as we explore the complex effects of NAFTA and global supply chains on American jobs, local economies, and sustainable living. In this video, I unearth the nuanced implications of globalization through the lens of NAFTA's history, its replacement by the USMCA, and the firsthand experience of Eric Henry, a business owner who navigated these changes. We'll dissect:
- The initial promise vs. the reality of NAFTA for American jobs and wages.
- The critical perspective on manufacturing shifts to Mexico and the broader race to the bottom.
- Insights from Eric Henry on reinventing his business post-NAFTA, focusing on ethical, local, and sustainable practices.
- The broader conversation on building a global economy that prioritizes people, planet, and transparency over mere profit.
This discussion isn't just about understanding the past; it's about reshaping our future choices. As consumers and citizens, we have the power to demand transparency and make people and planet-friendly purchases. If you're passionate about sustainable living and making informed choices that align with your values, this video is for you.

Cory, your really doing a good thing-- reporting on companies trying to be honest and placing their workers and everyone effected into focus.

Thank you
thank you!
Have you gone through the B Corp businesses and see how well they actually follow the spirit of the idea? And some interested things about it like ETSY was on it than went public
Yeah, I certainly haven't covered the list in it's entirety, but I am familiar with many.
There's a major challenge for the B Corp community generally. I don't think that everyone has the same "definition" for what it means for businesses to be a "force for good."
And so, in practice, that looks tons of different ways.
The community has many incredible businesses, like TS Designs mentioned in this video here setting the standard.
However, it's taken me years to dig up those exact examples. Not to say many more aren't there! I've just come to find the B Corp label is more of signal that a business might be truly setting a new vision for better business, more so than a verification.
Thanks for watching,
-Cory
