How To Apply Mortar For Backsplash Rehab Video #14 On Backer Board in Kitchen. How to apply mortar on backer board that was screwed into wall above counter in kitchen for the backsplash subway tile. David cut all the tile on one day then applied mortar for backsplash on another day. Mortar dries fast so the tiles have to be ready to apply.
Tile was bought at Home Depot. The backer board works better than sheetrock.

Is it better to use mortar on the back or the easy stick tape they have for these?

This is weird, my cabs are the exact same color exact same handles, and I've chosen to use tiles exactly that shape and size, using the same exact grout type and color. I intend to use 1/4" thick Hardie backer boards though many vids depict just tiling directly on top of dry wall or plaster. All of this was decided without any conscious decision to copy or follow this video, though I did watch it many months earlier. I didn't buy tile yet but have one sample of gray and have thought about using a mix of colors like you did. Hey, what month were you born? :)
