I was just 7 years old when my mom came to OSU for her PhD and OSU won the national championship in 2002. I was in 5th grade in Columbus Public Schools then. We moved back to India several years later and I'm happily here, but even all these years later, I'm a staunch Buckeye fan! Even when people in India think American football and rugby are the same 🤣. Anyway, I'll never forget Coach Tressell and the laundry list of great Buckeye players from back then. Go bucks from India!

I’m not from Ohio, but grew up a huge Buckeye fan my whole life! Dad was from Lancaster, Ohio, got me hooked back in 1967, or 68, remembering that Ohio State beating USC, and O.J. Simpson in the Rose Bowl to win the National Championship! There are so many great Buckeye memories, but I agree with all Jim Tressel fans, that he was one of my favorite coaches, not just for beating Michigan all but one year, because of tattoo gate, but beating Miamis ass in the National Championship! Three best! Urban, Woody, and Jim, and hope to add Ryan Day to the list! Go Bucks! Should win it all in 2024-2025! 🌰🏈

@Buckeye_4_Life_ How long did it take Kirby Smart to win a championship ? Day has been there once with a depleted team. He also almost got by Georgia, he fixed that problem, defense. He also did something OSU coaches had not done, beat Clemson. Day is on the cusp of a big run, and doing things to be ready. Depth building this year for that 12 team playoff, when other teams will suffer. I like where he has the program, he is winning consistently and his teams are always in the conversation. He will win a title, and odds on he will get a few before he is done at OSU. Personally I want to see his have a 20 yr career as head coach. We have had quite a few 10 and Jones. Nobody since Woody has put a long tenure in.
Go re visit some of Woodys bad years, Day has not had one yet.

I love the Team Ideal. So true, Jim, that it gets lost in this society and has for a long time. Not just players. Coaches, administration. So much goes into that Gameday Product on the field that fans watch for ~3-4 hours every weekend.
My Power Spread Ideal is PS = SpaceTimeTeam -- st squared if you will. Time is attached to Team beginning with all the hours and organization it takes to grow together and evolve into (hopefully) the vision the HC has for his Team. It all starts with the Space you occupy - but it definitely ends with Team. Not Star or Individual or QB or any of that other stuff.

Great show Coach. Love and respect you and coach Day not just for success in football but for the bigger life journey of paying forward and coaching life to others. It was awesome seeing two great coaches speak of their coaching methods and philosophy and how you develop teamwork in the program. Really, really good information I am sure Buckeye Nation will love hearing. I understand how much pressure and the unrealistic expectations of Buckeye fans. We know that the other teams have good coaches and players too. I think there is a historic love of football from youth all the way to Ohio State and the NFL Ohio Teams or NFL teams our Buckeyes go play. Although Columbus is a big Metro Area and with the history of Ohio football it still feels like a smaller community of football spirit. We are constantly given information about the players, coaches and the team as a whole. We are told by the media more than the Coach's how great each player is so we put them on a pedestal and have determined they are the best and our team will win for sure. Yet we know that when they come in as 4 or 5 stars they don't always play that way or had injuries along the way that curtailed their talent. So just want to say, we know you coaches that sign on to Buckeye Football know the expectations. We know that winning a National Championship there are so many factors that determine that, and luck is a part of that as is staying healthy and so many factors the coaches and players can determine yet some they cannot. How many times have we seen the play off game or Championship game come down to one play or a bad official call making a difference? With all of the amazing coaches Ohio State has been blessed with like you, Coach Day, Urban, Paul Brown, John Cooper, Woody Hayes, Earl Bruce, and so many more, ( gee just realized this is a College Football Hall Of Fame Group), and we had so many amazing assistants. I would have thought you and Urban would have won two National Championships at the least just because of the talent you brought in but more because you were one of the best coaches in the country. Goes to prove there are so many variables that determine the Champ some controlled and some not and some luck and other teams. Sorry so wordy I just wanted you to know love your show and see it has so much value even more than football. Praying for Coach Day and the Buckeyes to win a National Championship this year not for us nor each of them but for The Team because that is what they will remember most about their football days at The Ohio State University and that team will be joined for life. God Bless You and Buckeye Nation.

Great platform that coach Tressel has started. First, Coach Day should apply some of what he says about players to himself, specifically bold and courageous leadership. The same has to be demanded of the coaches, especially the head coach. Coach Day can't continue to coach scared. And I'm speaking of the Georgia game where he called to garbage plays after CJ's 27-yard scramble for a 1st down. The time allowed to tick away before half-time of the 2023 TCUN game was attributed to scared coaching. Everything evolves around results not good-sounding bulletin board comments of how great the state of Ohio is.

History -past ; Analysis - present; Prophet - future
History -- from a power based personnel game (man to man) - then the variety of schemes that started early on and exploded with the foward pass - and now this incredible flexibility of the game as the Pro and College game unites in a Pro PS way and all the ways it can be "flexed" into one scheme- one unit.
    Camp - Rules
    Stagg/Heisman/Yost/Warner/Rockne - Schemes
Neyland and so many more - Culture
    Russell - early spread; DMeyer > FSchmidt > Gillman - Pro Scheme > Coryell/Walsh/Martz
    PBrown - Modern Pro Culture
    Shaughnessy > Faurot > Tiger all the R&S guys > the flexbone guys > Matsakis & RRod + Mumme/Leach > PS Triumverate Urban/Gus/Art
This ALL was brought finally to NFL Shanahans/Harbaugh and finally Reid really showed how Pro and PS can combine - of course he's a BYU guy - yes - this is just scheme based - Culture even bigger - but it's so huge how we got from there (power) to here (spread).
Analysis - One thing fans can do is study film - everyone now can - and there's a lot on youtube for that. See all the great stuff on the field. Then great channels like this one explaining all the Culture (personnel / operations / strategy). It's all available for coaches and fans alike.
Prophet - Going to be very interesting as we are in CHANGE now. Culture and the Pro/PS scheme tweaks and all the effects this will have on players and economics of the whole Game. In a world environment that is also on the precipice of major Change. TEAM more important than ever before for everyone..
