Wish that first setup was available to the common folks.

I imagine it might be eventually, since Barrett has a good record of supporting the 2A and gun owners - and I think they like money too. But I can understand them wanting to go after that government contract first.

I want to know how that Barrett SURG rifle compares to the Gemtech Integra, another SURG rifle, which from my research I believe to be the best integrally suppressed AR to enter on the market. However I'm sure the Barrett is also a fine rifle and the company has a great reputation for quality and reliability.

SO glad they got rid of the keymod handguard. Nothing would stay attached even in light conditions at the range. I'll happily replace the handguard I've got on mine now.

Heretic -I've never had anything come loose on mine. I wonder if Barrett will offer an m-lok handguard for sale by itself for the rec7 owners?

@@patriotgunner Yes they will shortly, but Barrett's new M-Lok hand guards will not fit on the Gen1 Rec7's, u will have use aftermarket.

I’m glad to see ANOTHER company make the shift in the manufacturing of their products to M-LOK rather than the inferior Key-Mod!
M-LOK is a superior design option on multiple levels - it is a simpler = faster design for the manufacturing process / multiple scientific tests on maximum load stress have demonstrated the Key-Mod design fails/breaks before its M-LOK counterpart - by design, attachments featuring M-LOK mounts can be placed in a greater number of incremental distances and measurements along the hand guard = greater level of customization.
Lastly, and on a biased and personal note... M-LOK just looks better! Key-Mod served its purpose and I thank it. It had its time and place...but just like the rock and arrow and musket ball...along came the bullet.
M-LOK IS JUST BETTER - let’s embrace and utilize it!

This seems extremely biased. I own rifles with mlok and keymod. They work exactly the same. I've never had an issue with either. It just comes down to what you think looks better. If you want to argue maximum load stress than a quad rail will destroy both. So i guess the old quad rail is superior aye?

    • @thomasfoolery8408

The QUAD does exceed the weight stress load tests but when you factor in the weight savings between the two - MLOK (and KEYMOD) is a much lighter rail cover option.
When you look the battle rifles overall weight reduction benefit provided by a much lighter MLOK RAIL - the abililities of the MLOK weight stress failure point is well ABOVE MILSPEC requirements!

Looks like M-lok is replacing Keymod style handguards as the defacto standard, just like VHS did over Betamax! ( ...and the young kids on this thread scratches their heads in bewilderment!!!) ;)

haha. Before .mil did their tests and determined that m-lok was better all across the board, i didn't care which one i got. But now, i tend to go m-lok whenever possible. I'll even wait to get an m-lok version of whatever if i have to.

It shouldn't matter where the firearm is pointed the only time you should have a finger on the trigger is if you are willing to destroy something

    Mr Barrett
Please get somone else to talk about your rifles. It’s hard to self promote. A proper trained in sales and combat person would boom your brand.
Product is superb but pitch of sale flunks.
