Hi shalu If duration is not given for any drug in implementation chart. Do we need to code it as prescription is incomplete?. And if in prn medication drug given is salbutamol. Can we directly give salbutamol to patient or do we ask do you want to take salbutamol? Patient is having history of asthma Please reply.thanks
Hi mom is it right to break tablet into two and give half to your patient if the available dose is 5mg and prescriber is 2.5mg or you will have to code it
Hello, I can see that the cyclizine (as required) was prescribed without the start day. Is it still a valid prescription for as required drug? Thank you.
Also, if you forgot to mention about two fingers inserted in the calf to check if tight but mention qt the end that you needed to mention about respiration but tell them later, would that be an issue?

Hi Shalu Thank you so much for your help. I have got question if regular medication in Stat dose 14.00 and next page medicine, same medication is OD. At 06.00 but they put cross but should we need to do it. Thanks
Thank you for your videos. What code do you give when the dose at hand is different from the prescribed dose? Please your response is urgently need please.
If you have 5mg to be given and from the drug trolley 10mg is only available, you will need to code it as medication unavailable. also let us say you have to give 40mg of a medication, and it comes in a form of 5mg, it means you will need to serve 8tABLES/PILLs. but before that ask the patient whether he or should can take the 8tablets, if not, then you dont even have to dispense it into the cup and waste the medication. and once the patient said he is not able to take it, it did not mean that he or she refused the medication, but he cannot take such many tablets at once. so you can code it as medication unavailable- to inform prescriber or something like that. I stand to be corrected @@sushmamgr

Please, while reading the MAR chart, I realized that there is a prescription which is not correct at the 'AS REQUIRED' section but it is not due at my time. Do I have to code it or leave it ?

hi on resit will they give the same drug that was given on first time or it will be different n also will they add any more extra drug or will they change the prescription, please do let me know as iam for implementation resit so xxx
I think if the medication is regular, it means that patient is taking it regularly, so if there is no start and finish date, then you can still administer, if every other validity details like prescriber bleep number and signature is present and frequency is seen correctly... all that i mean to say is that patient may be hypertensive and taking medication like amlodipine, and you know they will take this medication forever unless there is a change. so if there is no mention of start date and finish date, it does not matter. you simply have to look at the other validity element like prescriber bleep numbeer and signature, once there are there, and nothing else signals you to stop or code the medication, you have to administered.

Could you please correct me in implimentation station.. Can we put code and signature straightway for an omitted drug while preparing all medicine. Or should I wait until I dispense all other medicine? Pls reply
You should put code and signature straight away if you have decided to omit a drug, don't wait as you may forget to do it later on and then it will count as fail.

If I do it fast, I miss critical points I feel reading the drug chart is taking a lot of time and there are many explanation points for the patient and assessor
You need to check the validity of all prescribed drugs but in explanation you need to give the reason why drug is used .You don't need to give any explanation about side effects unless your patient or assessor ask for it. We provide online practice sessions for different stations so please contact us if you would like that .

Thank you for your videos. What code do you give when the dose at hand is different from the prescribed dose? Please your response is urgently need please.

None, you need to work out how many tablets you need to give of stock dose to match it to prescribed dose.

There will be time written for regular drugs. Try not to overthink.

They have taken that part (NMC number)out of the chart now so do not have to write anything.
