Ah, now I get it. The up and down strokes always confused me, but now I see the "setting" is in the middle of the stroke and the completion of the stroke, either up or down, is the release. Nice video Steve.

Appreciate it Mr.Smith. Yea if you don’t watch out the up and down and then the forwarding of the right leaver will mess you up if you don’t watch out. The setter sets two teeth on the up stoke and then you advance the right leaver and then you go down and set two more teeth. But yes you have it. It sets the teeth right in the middle of each stroke. Thank you Sir. Take care

Thanks for taking the time to do an in depth video on the tooth setting machine. Zooming in the on the die set (if that is what it is called) really helped understand how you can adjust the setting by loosening the bolt sticking out and moving the die that pushes on the teeth. Does that setting make a 1/8" wide cut through the log or is it more agressive than the "stock blades"?

Appreciate you watching Sir. Yes Sir it makes a 1/8 cut threw the log , the teeth are set right back to factory as possible.
Sometime even better. I’ve got brand new blades and the teeth are all over the place.
How that happens I don’t understand, well yea I do … glad you got to understand it better. I’m going to do another video on the sharpener to just ain’t had the time. I got a lot of blades to sharpen and set. Thanks again for watching and you guys take care.

Good video. It just bothers me that the anvils contact the teeth before the clamp makes contact and clamps the blade.

I thought about that Also when I purchased it but it does a great job setting the teeth.

Thanks for the video. It really explained how the setter works. Do you often get a tooth out of spec? it looked pretty accurate. I imagine some one had an automated system, for a great deal of money.

Appreciate it Mr.Wilson I’m glad I could do a video on it so people could get the ideal exactly how it works. A full automatic one would be a great ideal and I’m with you, I guarantee it would be really expensive.
Just about every dull blade the teeth get out of set. It’s a waist of time sharpening a blade with out setting the teeth. And then you will have a uniform blade that will cut right for you. Thank you Sir. Take care

@@MsdMakingSawDust Steve, we need to build one that is fully automated so that Scott can run it.

      Good morning Mr.Wilson
Hate to say it but we would be a few years behind woodmizer on make a fully automatic tooth setter. They have one , it’s a bmt250 . I didn’t realize they had one until someone told me. And as I figured it’s pricey. $3795 plus shipping. Looks like it’s a nice one to. So back to the drawing board
We will have to try to come up with something else 😂 in the mean time you take care Sir.

@@MsdMakingSawDust Steve, thanks for the infromation - I had to look and found they have some good videos. The pair is $6000, but it could be a good business venture

@@woodwaker1 Hahaha! I was thinking this would be a great activity to do while sipping a nice cool beverage or nice warm beverage depending on the time of the year/weather. Some day I will have a nice big barn to store equipment like this.

Does it actually advance 3 teeth at a time to avoid setting the straight tooth?

Yes Sir. It advance 3 teeth at a time. That way it skips the straight tooth. Appreciate you watching and commenting. Take care
