It was the best game in the series overall IMO. It takes everything the series is known for and blows it way out of proportion which is exactly why these games are great. They're outrageous. This game had what, like 40 weapons or something that were all great.
2D Yeah, I guess R&C2 is my favourite in the series too. I've completed 1-3 and Gladiator about 20 times each, but I think I had the most fun in second one. It was just the most "deep" one for me. Most dark and yet the funniest of all.
Vernon Roche I don't know, I think 3 had better designs, seeing as how if you showed me a picture of 3, then I'd almost instantly know, while in 2's case, it might take a little longer
I have to give that prize to the first game, it had some of the most imaginative, expansive, and colourful game worlds - not only in the series - but on the PS2. Levels like Metropolis, Aridia, and Novalis took me to places that I hadn't yet expected to see in a video game.
I don't think I'd be crying from nostalgia right now if I had that game as a kid, I think I'd be bopping from the sheer timeless badassery of this music instead.

Probably the best planet in all the ratchet and clank games, best R&C song. David Bergeaud needs to return. Imagine a PS4 ratchet with the same atmosphere as R&C2 and David Bergeauds awesome music.
@@Lypno that's not too ambitious. Rift apart had a different atmosphere and vibe, but they didn't do the same things as in this game because they didn't want to, they wanted to do something different. The soundtrack in rift apart wasn't bad at all, it just didn't stand out very much
I remember thinking that this was the final level when I first played the game as a kid. The explanation for why you're going here seems pretty big, the enemies are the toughest you've faced up to that point (there's a noticeable spike in how much damage they can take and dish out), and the level theming and music seems completely different from Veldin in the first game, and it made sense to me that they were mixing it up! I thought this was a cool direction!
Insomniac... As the R&C veteran and fan I beg you... Please put at least this song in new R&C 2 for ps4... Funky music is 100% better then generic ost in R&C for ps4!

Yeah, if you listen to the soundtracks from the first three games often it's easy to pick out the drumloops and samples David re-used. There's a great video documenting this, look up "Ratchet and Clank samples" if you're interested in seeing exactly which ones he re-used
I absolutely love coming to this planet just to hear the music! Easily one of my favourite music tracks of the whole soundtrack! I can't help myself but bop around on the spot on my bed whenever I'm playing this game.
The newer games might be epic and feel like a cinematic experience but there's jus something about the first games that came out on PS2. I miss those days

So I feel videogame OSTs of the mid-late 2010s are a bit generic and forgettable, ESPECIALLY compared to soundtracks from franchises like R+C, MGS1-3, Spyro, Sonic CD, etc etc
Thanks so much for the like btw. Glad there are folks out there who love these games and their musics as much as I do! Stay real people, the 00s will never leave our hearts!!
This song really freaked me out when I was a kid. I remember getting stuck in the jetpack section of this level and being perpetually creeped out by the soundtrack. I went back and replayed the whole original trilogy like ten years later, and the whole time I was playing this game I dreaded getting to this level just because I remembered the intro to this song so vividly. The jetpack section turned out to be a breeze since I was no longer like 8 years old, and I think after that it sounded a little less creepy, but even now, even years after that, I still get a little freaked out when I think about this track. Good stuff David Bergeaud.
