You should check out Eurovision 2018! It was the first one I really followed and one of my favorites ever! I recommend you judt check out the recap on the official esc channel (if copyright allows of course haha)

Loreen was absolutely HANDS DOWN my winner this year. Cha Cha Cha is okay, but just not my taste personally. But that's what makes Eurovision discussion so much fun, because we all have differing tastes in music :)
Personnally, I love Tattoo but for me, it's not really a good winner as the song is good but really not original in my opinion (I mean, it's the typical good song we hear like almost every year, so, for me, it's a really good song but not really a good winner)
But, again, it's my opinion, I totally understand why people loves it

Loreen had the most votes overall (counting both phone votes and Jury). However, Cha-cha-cha had more phone votes than Loreen. Nonetheless, the winner is determined by the total number of votes, as it has always been. It's important to note here that the jury's votes are under 50%, while phone votes constitute over 50% of the scoring. In the past, it used to be a 50/50 split, but not this year.
The jury consists of experts from several countries. They are not informed about the identities of jurors from other countries, and they are not allowed to meet each other when deciding their votes. They are expected to base their decisions on their professional expertise. For instance, a vocal coach might focus on singing technique, while a producer might prioritize the artistic aspect.
Still don’t get the Israel 2023 hype 😅 great dancer but not much of a singer. Just look at the shared clips of how “great” the song was; they ALWAYS show the clip where the background singers sing UNI-CORRRN while everyone dances. And yes you can still be a great singer and dancer at the same time, just look at Spain’s performance last year
I'm from Slovenia and I didn't like our entry (Carpe Diem) at all. It felt like a very overdone, simple and mainstream pop. :')) Also, the lyrics feel very cringe to me in my native tongue xDDD sorry to all the fans tho, just an honest opinion - not hating on the band, but the song is overrated.
