I would love it if Jenn started a Podcast, she has such great and helpful things to say. I feel like whenever she does these talks or stories (like her toxic friend video), they always have lessons we could learn from and so influential. ❤️❤️
Spilling the tea about some of my mistakes as an entrepreneur. What are some lessons that you've learned? I'd love to read them! And thank you to everyone that joined me during the premiere! It was a really fun experience getting to watch and chat with all y'all! 😍
thank you for sharing this. I made a thrifting editorial and got to collaborate with Goodwill to make videos. It'd mean the world to me if you checked it out
your channel has been in my life for a very long time and I just got a new job which I actually really care about, and which could change my whole life, and goddamn you had no idea how bad I needed these words. thank you so much
building a work relationship before a personal relationship....wow i never thought of this before as I tend to blur the boundaries between friends and colleagues ... something to think about for sure!

With so many TED talks and successful CEOs only talking about "ways to get successful, mindset of a succcessful CEO" this talk was absolutely refreshing. As a uni student wanting to start my own company, this video helped me SOOO much - cos u dont see many CEOs talking about what they did wrong and how they learnt from it. I have watched u from 100 K, and u r handsdownone of the most hardworking, compassionate yet also emotionally intelligent women out there - u inspire me
these tips are SOOO good, I recently had a manager tell me that he knows exactly when I hear someone utter the dumbest shit alive - poker face is very important
"Give yourself a permission to be happy now." I really needed to hear that. For the longest time I always thought that "once I did this, or did that, THEN I'll be happy." but exactly like you said, the happiness was just like a short climax. It IS really important to STOP PUTTING OFF OUR HAPPINESS, thinking that we will be happy ONCE we reach our goals cause it just won't do us any good! Thank you so much for this important reminder, Jenn. You and your way of speaking can always make me feel comforted and empowered. Well done, I'm super proud and thankful to know you!!
this is the kind of openness we need on the platform. it really makes your viewers feel as if their aspirations/goals aren't too far out of reach (& more importantly) are achievable. ty for painting a realistic picture jenn ❤
I absolutely and thoroughly enjoyed watching this. I can appreciate the amount of preparation that went into this presentation and your confidence in executing your hard work. So well prepared and the flow of the presentation made it very engaging. I admire your newfound confidence (I've watched you for a few years now and have noticed the progress) and hoping that I can do the same one day. Thank you for using your huge platform in such a gracious manner - you're leading many young adults in the right path and we love you for that.
Jenn, you literally are the Wisdom Goddess. Everything you do inspire me and everything you say makes me want to read a book to be as eloquent as you! My lesson: you are in the race yourself.
I usually hate talks like these because they all say similar things but you did an awesome job! You thought of new ideas and they are very good ideas too!! This is awesome!
I really look up to you, Jen. You have helped me to realize that it’s okay to acknowledge both successes and failures. You’ve also helped all of us get through this insane time. Thank you so much 💜💜

WOW, watching this made me feel like I was talking to myself HAHA. I also used iCal for a good year before I gave in and changed to gcal when my team convinced me to, and now I rave about gcal. I'm also going through the same thing you went through, having my team members not respect me as a boss but only as a friend because I joke around with them all the time. Things went slightly sour when my team member made a grave mistake and I had to go full discipline mode while on video call, I think my team was kinda shook at my sudden change of attitude hahaha. Anyway great talk as always Jenn! You're inspiring to me in EVERY WAY! You legit change my life for the better all these years, and I can't wait to see you make more boss moves :)
That was amazing!!! Been following you since you were in undergrad and you’ve come such a long way. Love that you’re always trying to grow and become a better version of yourself
Jen, I’ve watched your videos since clothes encounters when you were first introduced by Chrisssstine... you’ve blown up to the stars and it’s so encouraging to watch every part of your journey. Thank you for sharing your life
Another amazing presentation to inspire us all ❤️Your becoming a boss video last year was like my bible, and this talk adds even more depth to your teachings. You bring so much happiness and wisdom to our lives. Thank you so much for sharing your life so openly and honestly. We adore you so much, don't ever stop! XOXO
What an interesting subject , it is crucial to réalise that we learn more by reflecting on our mistakes and by getting rejected because rejection is redirection , thank you so much Jenn you really inspire me to take a hold of my life in a graceful way love y’a ♥️( greetings from Algeria)
almost cry when hear you saying: give yourself permission to be happy, sometimes maybe we push ourselves too hard! thank you for being so honest and such an open book to share your own experience, and mistake girl! a lot to learn from you! ❤️
I’ve only watched a few videos of this girl and she seems so wise. Keep being you girl, don’t get caught in the negativity, there’s so much wisdom and positivity inside you
I definitely agree with your tip on building trust and credit before becoming friends with a coworker. I work in the corporate world and there a ton of people who are "in it for themselves" and will have no issue "stabbing you in the back". It's definitely not okay to get too personal and open up to coworkers when you haven't built that trust. In my opinion, a corporate job is just a job and not really a place to find friends. Anyways, I loved this talk Jenn! I learned so much from it.
Thanks for this jenn! I’m glad you mentioned the posting because as a new creator, I was questioning as to whether I should upload weekly but i realize that it’s better to post quality content rather than posting poorly created videos weekly.
In many ways, you have become an inspiration to many young, prospective women in daily life. Your experiences are so real and relatable, and it's refreshing to see that even a successful person like yourself can embrace being human and admitting to your mistakes. You remind us that not being perfect is ok. Thank you for sharing your rare days with us
Omg.. I am actually so happy that i found your channel. I just wanted to say that even though i watched just 2 videos of you doing these motivating, transparent talks, i can see that you are a very inspirational person. Thank you so much for taking your time and actually talking about these topics which are very important not only in the business career or building an empire but in how people can vision their self emotionally or their mindset towards life. Im just 16 years old and even though i´m young, these talks are very inspiring for me right now and in the future. Im thinking about majoring in business/marketing in college and this was really motivating, although i have still almost two years to think about it and keep my options open i just have this feeling that in the end it could be something that i could pursue a career in.
Omg this is gold!! Many people are so unforgiving of themselves ... true negative feelings can really eat us up... u become the stories u tell yourself ... truth!!! Have to vs get to... wow this is good positive influence!!
Jenn always inspired me like SHE BRINGS OUT THE BEST IN ME. Once i wanted to read a book but its 5 days after exam szn and i feel exhausted, but when Jenn dropped her quarantine video and told us to read some books, i literally grabbed that mystery ass book i've been avoiding to read and finished it in 2 days 😭 i love her so much, only Jenn can do this 😭💞
Jenn this was so good! We all focus on what the successfull people did "right" that we often forget how many failures they had to ensure to get there. And not everyone who works hard gets to be successful. For every successful person out there, there are about ten people who failed trying to achieve the same thing.
I rarely find seminars or speeches have any true takeaways to apply in one's life. It feels like the same cliche regurgitation most individuals put forth. That said, Jenn always has such inspiring and meaningful points in her talks. Thank you so much Jenn for sharing your knowledge and experiences with us. They always motivate me to think in a new way and make active changes in my life. Please keep putting out content like this. Sending all the love.
The #5 mistake just hits home Jenn!! It did change my perspective about how should I see my life. I always focus on reaching that goal because I believe that it will make me happy. When I am on that process, I realize that I am pressuring myself too much to the point that there is no "happiness". Ashley and you Jenn thought me a very important lesson. I love you both and more power!!
Omg. I love this video. It's so touching for me. I can feel the same me in 5 mistakes which you mentioned. It's sensational to watch it and learn new pro-tips from you. I will change and modify my mistakes to make myself feel happier and better every day. Thanks so much for your effort and attention for this most useful and wonderful video. Love you and always support you.
I feel like we are constantly pulled and pushed by societal demands to keep moving without rest or time to enjoy the process. One silver lining to this CO-VID situation - one that took me a while to realize - is that we can enjoy the peace of a slower-paced life. Loved the life reminders in this video, especially the picture of the broken tooth (been there, done that)
Holy heck Jenn, I am in the entrepreneur space and I’ve yet to see a boss as successful as you and yet as humble. You truly are impacting your community and I’m so so glad I got hooked on you from Sophia’s swapping houses video. Sincerely, a newer follower and deep enneagram who gets down with your introspective reading self: Ché, Come Alive Co
Those tips are super crucial for people who want to establish their own company. Jen sets a really good example for us to follow😍 Hope you guys will stay safe and sound in this hard time❤️
Jenn even though i don't know you personally but i've watched enough of your videos and i feel like you always have so much thinking. that's not a bad thing. but sometimes you tend to have too much regret or guilt or shame over things that's not really worth to think about. don't be too stressed over things just take it easy and things will turn out great if you just tried your best and wait for it to happen naturally ! love you!
Jenn, I am using you for a paper in one of my classes!! I watched both of your speeches again, and I noticed a big improvement! You are much more calm and collected in this public speech. I love the growth and I can't wait to learn more from you! Note: I wanted to clarify that your previous speech "How to Become a Boss" was NOT bad! I loved your presentation just as much as this one
The relationship one got me. In my job (high-school teacher) you really need to have a positive relationship with the students but without forgetting the boundaries, otherwise they'll trash your lessons lol
Currently a student on the way to graduate school. This was a really needed talk for me, a lot of your points are relevant for general life advice especially for young adults who are trying to figure out what to do with their life in order to be happy. Thank you Jenn! ❤️
Awww Jenn! I love listening to your talks. You're so wise and reflective. I know I've said this many times to you but it's really ok if you don't post every week, we will understand! Your videos are such high quality as it is and I know it's hard to maintain a high level of creativity every week. Make sure to take care of yourself first. Much love.
This is the best motivational and helpful thing i came across so far. Success Stories are cliches. But only ur big sister or mother tells you the harsh truth and thing you should change.Thank you so much Jenn, i wish i would have knowns these things earlier.💜🌸Take love from Bangladesh. 💙
Every point was either such a good reminder or a new lesson learned! I really loved the anecdotes that highlighted and further explained each scenario! This was an amazing speech - I can tell you have a lot of self awareness. Well done, Jenn :)
Thoughts about failure are just thoughts about failure. They’re completely independent from who you are. You’re so amazing and productive, Jenn! ❤️❤️❤️
Wow this is so inspiring! I definitely also have the problem with familiarity being my security blanket. I talked about this exact same thing earlier today with a friend where I am always scared of change, but every time as soon as I accept the change then it is never as bad as I feared it to be. I am still learning and growing in life, but messages like yours inspire me to take that leap of faith and to accept change! Thank you ❤
I wish I was able to see this talk live. These talks really make me feel like "Yeah. I'm not alone. Everyone has flaws and it's okay because we're all learning together." Thank you, Jenn, for uploading this for everyone, near and far, to watch!
OMG! When you were talking about having to do something vs getting to do it... it clicked with me so much! I've been trying to get back to reading and so I tried to make it a habit of mine to read daily. Then I didn't, and then I was like: ok, I'll do it every second day. I told myself: I have to read every second day. And I couldn't keep up with that. Two nights ago I sat in bed and thought to myself: well, now I get to read a little. I have time and I feel focused. I haven't enjoyed reading this much for a loooong time. :)
Ooohhhh!!!! Ashley was mentioned! I'm so proud of the both you! Thank you for the quote. That really opened my perspective on how I look at my goals. Love you!
Jenn am so happy for how much you have accomplished. I ve been following you since your early videos when I was in high school, and truly you´ve been like a mentor for me. When I moved by myself and was traveling back and forth to my parents place I felt so desoriented and really all your words just hit the right spots with me. Currently am going through my graduation project and damn it has been a journey getting to this moment(I graduated highschool in2012) and now am struggling with knowing what I want to do. Thanks for all the honest help you had put out for poeple like me, and I just want to keep on being inspired and work hard to get to bigger places. You are amazing. Greeting form Honduras.
All these tips are really priceless because they have come from your personal experience and lessons. That really makes them convincing. Jenn you are so brave. I hope someday, you can come to Korea and inspire many Korean female entrepreneurs. We are with you!
Jenn I love this so much. The last point hit me in the soul. I’m going to watch this again and use it as a journal prompts. empowered women, empower women. I was tearing up on the last part. Thank you love.
Thank you Jenn so much for posting this! Despite not being an entrepreneur (for now haha) all of your lessons were so insightful to be applied in everyday life. With all that's going on the world I've found myself with more time to think lately, and this was a video that I didn't even know I needed, but so thankful I watched. Thank you for being a constant inspiration to everybody!
Wow Jenn, I have been following you for a while and I used to see you as a very talented youtuber. With this video you have shown me that you are much more than that, I admire your knowledge and objectives. Congrats on the person you have become.
I felt that so much when you talked about building friendships with your staff. Like i dont want anyone to feel left out at work so i try my best to make them feel comfortable and happy at work so they can reach their potential by feeling supported. Arghh its going to be difficult this one ☹💜
Thank you for sharing this talk for free, amazing tips that I’ll try to apply consistantly because it does make a huge difference. I already apply the tip #2 writing down whats going wrong, worries or problems i’m facing and for me it really helps me put into words confused feelings and thoughts in my head. That way I find solutions more easily and feeling sooooo relieved. I also found that doing like an update/checkup with myself in my journal really helps me with keeping my goals and focus on whatever project or idea. I ask myself why I try to adopt x habit, my long term goal, short term goal, why these are my goals, etc... it helps me so much in my motivation. Anyway, just wanted to say this 2nd tip really works Thanks jen for this talk :) xxx
I usually never comment on videos but I think that was such an articulate and engaging talk. I'm not an entrepreneur and don't think I ever will be but I do think your points are transferrable even to everyday situations. I am also super impressed that you did not say "um" once, which is usually my downfall for any form of public speaking/video recording. Well done on doing this!!
Great thoughts Jenn! I definitely have the tendency to wear my emotions really easily as well! I also am learning how and when to share personal details in a professional setting!
You are a great speaker! I know you've touched on some of these points in other videos and also books you've read, and it's great for it to all be here in one concise video!
I love this! It goes to show how much you've learned from all your experiences and you really put your learnings into practice. You're also very open about your failures and so humble about your success, and I love that about you! I hope you get to have a TEDx talk soon! 😄❤
Great points! The friendship/co-worker relationship is so important, I once had a boss who told me WAY too many secrets about her life when I never wanted to be her friend in the first place 😬 I would just like to add to your part about poker faces- it’s not about coming up with a good lie to tell people or a fake smile, it’s way more about how genuine and compassionate you are. People don’t mind if you don’t go with their idea, it’s not even just that they wanna be heard, they wanna be validated. It’s better to practice seeing the good in things and getting allowing yourself to feel excited about them so you can be genuine and say something kind and true like“the color palette in these logos very on trend, I like the idea of the logo feeling young and vibrant like these. I think the one we have really hit the nail on the head with our branding but I’m glad you showed these to me, I can use them as inspiration for a different project”. I appreciate when people are genuine, even if they didn’t like my idea I would just want them to appreciate my effort and enthusiasm rather than give me a fake smile and a fake promise like “I’ll look at them later” which you obviously won’t especially if you immediately change the subject. Even if you fake smile it may not make a difference. I have resting bitch face and I’m fully aware (seriously people have told me that since I was 6) and there is absolutely nothing I can do about it, believe me I’ve tried lol I once had a mirror in the corner of my desk so I could make sure to smile when I heard people about to walk by! I started doing it because my boss told me I looked upset and like I hated my job (which I loved! It literally just my resting face!) so I went above and beyond in meetings and did extra work and stayed late to show how much I loved it and guess what? I got fired because my boss didn’t like that I looked upset when I was working! Literally, she told me that my working face didn’t fit the brand image and other than that she thought I was a great worker and would recommend me for any job, my facial expression just didn’t fit the brand. 😑 oh I got unemployment because you can’t just fire someone for a dumb reason like that and expect it to be justified, but it’s ridiculous that my work performance didn’t matter. After that I found my dream job and I was upfront with them that I may look upset but it’s just my face, if you talk to me you’ll see that I’m happy and they accept me for who I am! They don’t give a shit about my resting face, they talk to me like normal people and they know I’m happy to be there lol it wouldn’t have been worth it to fake smile, just be yourself y’all lol
loved it!! i feel like most of the tips and advices are transferable in your daily life, and also ashley is one of my fav youtubers as well, she's young (around my age) and doing so well. love your hustle jenn x
I rarely left a comment on a video, but I love this video! It really resonates with my current situation and become an inspiration for me. Thank you Jenn!
Thank you for sharing this video Jenn. I definitely felt defeated and like a failure today while working from home, and I definitely needed to hear this✨
This was an excellent presentation. Jenn you are my role model. Since you first started out on UA-cam. Thank you for sharing what you've learned in your journey
These are very good points. I am working as senior software developer and handling a team to go through and get job done is difficult task. Being too friendly and asking to get things done is difficult Pointing out mistakes properly is very important. And that's where I go wrong most of the time. Because every body is never on same level
Hey Jen, Thank you so much for this talk, it can be challenging to talk about your mistakes and imperfection yet you have done it so beautifully. As a young naive professional I am trying to figure it out daily how to go about in a corporate setting. Your tips were not only inspiring (really enjoyed the anecdotes and story with each tip) but also actionable. You were honest and most importantly showed your human side, which I don't see in all the 'success driven guru's ' out there. I will definitely save this video for future reference. Thank you for your words and efforts, Sending love from India : )
I love you 😘 You are my inspiration. ✨ Your face really tells the story in every situation in this channel. Before I can feel the anxiety from you so I tend to watch you whenever I am feeling okay but now that you're trying to change and help yourself. The more calmer you get, the more I look for videos of you Jenn. 💕 I keep my dreams high whenever I watched your videos. Thank you always, God bless and take care.
Oooooooooooooooooh I've just been Jenn's subscriber for about, um, 5 days? and have NO idea that she's a friend with Ashley, my favourite UA-camr ever! I guess I will love both of them now, there are always rooms in my heart :)
Honestly one of the most engaging and inspirational speeches I have ever watched! Thank you for sharing this Jenn, I will definitely be reminding myself of the 'get to vs have to' on a daily basis!
Daaaamn Jen!!! That was sooo good! All your points were right on and something I can take back and learn. I am inspired and uplifted!!! On another note, you have a real good podcast voice.
I would love it if Jenn started a Podcast, she has such great and helpful things to say. I feel like whenever she does these talks or stories (like her toxic friend video), they always have lessons we could learn from and so influential. ❤️❤️

Mentioning Ashley aka bestdressed was such a cute moment, i adore their friendship so much!

Nothing as an entrepreneur but how to come out of toxic friendship.

Can someone explain what ist a premiere
1. Focusing on the negative
2. Wearing your emotions on your sleeve
3. Getting too personal
4. Being inflexible
5. Thinking that the goal will fix everything
I love the get to vs have to mindset. Also, familiarity is our comfort zone, and we know that nothing grows there! I can tell that a lot of maturity, self-development, reading, and experience has led to these amazing learnings Jenn! Great vid, love it! 💖

Jenn always inspired me like SHE BRINGS OUT THE BEST IN ME. Once i wanted to read a book but its 5 days after exam szn and i feel exhausted, but when Jenn dropped her quarantine video and told us to read some books, i literally grabbed that mystery ass book i've been avoiding to read and finished it in 2 days 😭 i love her so much, only Jenn can do this 😭💞
This was incredible, Jenn. I think about the "get to vs. have to" everyday.
Jen sets a really good example for us to follow😍
Hope you guys will stay safe and sound in this hard time❤️
This is so powerful, woah I’m taking a seat back just so I don’t miss any word. Jen you’re a powerful speaker
"Failure is important because it puts you back on course." Thank you for this reassuring reminder especially during these incredibly difficult times.
Jenn is the girl you need for a pep talk or even a laugh. Thank you so much for your content ❤️
Great presentation Jenn, you are getting incredible at talking to an audience 🙌🙌 that part on work relationships is gold. I'm definitely taking notes.
Great job Jenn! You were so well-spoken but also so friendly during your talk. Hope you and your loved ones are safe and doing well!
The relationship one got me. In my job (high-school teacher) you really need to have a positive relationship with the students but without forgetting the boundaries, otherwise they'll trash your lessons lol
Your Rare Day talks are the best! Hopefully I can watch you live one day! Love from the Philippines ❤
Thanks Ayn!!
I value your words every time you speak, Jenn. Just so proud and thrilled I get to see you flourish!
I clapped after your speech ended because I loved it so much. Thank you so much for sharing
Thoughts about failure are just thoughts about failure. They’re completely independent from who you are. You’re so amazing and productive, Jenn! ❤️❤️❤️
How to know if you’re watching an older post-
Answer: you see a crowd; no social distancing.
You are an exceptional speaker!👏🏼
Jenn, I love how you always share your talk!! Very sweet of you to share for us who can't be a part of the audience there. :)
Jenn I love this so much. The last point hit me in the soul. I’m going to watch this again and use it as a journal prompts. empowered women, empower women. I was tearing up on the last part. Thank you love.
AMAZING presentation! I love watching Jenn speak.
this. was. PHENOMENAL! so glad to be ending the day on a happy note💖 thank you jenn, always.
Please please do a podcast series 😭😭 I can hear you talk all day and whatever you say is never just the surface. It always has insight and thought.
Anyway, just wanted to say this 2nd tip really works
Thanks jen for this talk :) xxx
I usually never comment on videos but I think that was such an articulate and engaging talk. I'm not an entrepreneur and don't think I ever will be but I do think your points are transferrable even to everyday situations. I am also super impressed that you did not say "um" once, which is usually my downfall for any form of public speaking/video recording. Well done on doing this!!
You’re amazing Jen! You really should make a podcast. I’d definitely listen 🥰
Love you, Jenn! Thank you for always being so real ❤️🌟
Hello Jenn ! I'm not an entrepreneur but I recognize myself in your words so I feel so touched ! Thank you so much !!
Jenn you nailed it. TY for sharing and letting us learn. 💕🌹
loved it!! i feel like most of the tips and advices are transferable in your daily life, and also ashley is one of my fav youtubers as well, she's young (around my age) and doing so well. love your hustle jenn x
I rarely left a comment on a video, but I love this video! It really resonates with my current situation and become an inspiration for me. Thank you Jenn!
Thank you for sharing this video Jenn. I definitely felt defeated and like a failure today while working from home, and I definitely needed to hear this✨
the *have to vs get to* got me reflecting on my blessings im taking for granted
This was an excellent presentation. Jenn you are my role model. Since you first started out on UA-cam. Thank you for sharing what you've learned in your journey
These are very good points. I am working as senior software developer and handling a team to go through and get job done is difficult task.
Being too friendly and asking to get things done is difficult
Pointing out mistakes properly is very important. And that's where I go wrong most of the time. Because every body is never on same level
Hey Jen,
Thank you so much for this talk, it can be challenging to talk about your mistakes and imperfection yet you have done it so beautifully.
Thank you for your words and efforts,
Sending love from India : )
This is advice everyone should here. Jenn is such a vibrant speaker
Daaaamn Jen!!! That was sooo good! All your points were right on and something I can take back and learn. I am inspired and uplifted!!! On another note, you have a real good podcast voice.
