Definitely one of the most underrated songs by Manfred Mann's Earth band. Great that they played it at the show one week ago in my hometown Schaffhausen - exactly on Manfred's 83th birthday. Incredible, how he is still so focused and full of passion on the stage. Still great is also the guitar work by Mick Rogers - really awesome. Martha's Madman was one of the highlights of the whole show.
In needed a few years to know what In love in Rock Music: a driving bass guitar player by bassist like Colin Pattenden, Pat King an Gary Thain/Uriah Heep.
wolfram eicke rest in peace, no,it was written by lane tietgen and recorded in 1970 by jerry hahn brotherhood,7 out of 10 songs on their only lp were written by tietgen(mike finnigan, the singer and keyboards player of jerry hahn brotherhood and lane tietgen played together in an earlier band called the serfs).
I remember driving in my 80 Camero jamming on this song. Keyboards kick ass!
