I live in Sweden and currently experiencing this tragic story. My 5year old daughter and 17 months old daughter who was also still breastfeeding were taken away from me. I'm glad this movie out to show what Scandinavian countries are doing to children, especially immigrants. Separating children from parents is psychological torture and child abuse. There are currently more than 30,000 children separated from their parents in Sweden alone. In my case Social services even lie and break national and international law to do this but they still get away with it. This is crime against humanity and we need to stop this once and for all.

Great thing bout this story is that Indian Govt intervened with Norway. There are families in Norway who haven't seen their children cuz they can't seek help from outside their home country. This is same in Denmark, Swiss and Sweden. They take away children to program them to become like their own. This film should've been advertised more than any films in the country.

The gaslighting husband is the lowest form of human life. The fact that he is still there speaks a lot to his low character. Poor Sagarika! I pity Daniel Singh Ciupek - he is a product of abuse himself. He can't hate what happened to him, abused people lot of times are the most abusive.

Jim Sarbh’s acting was another level!
As Daniel Singh he actually acted in the best interest of children and confessed that Debika wouldn’t claim kids for money despite knowing that this argument will weaken his case and make him loose it. He said the truth. He smiled and said congratulations to her despite loosing. Such kind of lawyers are good who always stand with the truth.
As a mother her acting where she mourn for her kids I got goosebumps. I cant imagine anyone taking my kids away from me. They judged her for "cultural" differences because she didnt act white enough? Ridiculous. Why her husband and her moved there to begin with is beyond me.

You need to respect culture whenever you go, not demand people to adjust to you. Funny when things are turned around it’s always everybody else future needs to be respected in other countries but not western in their own countries.
They had been given so many notices of the wrong doings and blaming it on “culture”. On top of that expecting the most racist countries to adjust to people they don’t view with a same respect it’s ridicules. You expect foreigner to respect Indian culture in your country, the same is expected when you move to western countries especially Nordic. Not everybody has to understand or adjust to other cultures or even want to. Their country their rules. People didn’t follow rules so they lure foreigners into coming and then making them pay for it. Unfortunately that’s the reality.
Quite rich from Indians fleeing their motherland and begging other countries to take them in. But hey, Indians will never conform to the cultures of other countries welcoming them? Stay in your country! Your culture might be rich. If it's that good, why not stay back in your own country?

My biggest regret is not watching this movie while it was rolling in the theatre. This movie deserves way too many praises for reflecting the life of an immigrant, a mother, a wife all in such a short movie.

Acting was good, but there are also lessons to be learned when moving to other countries - you need to adapt to cultural differences and that country's standards. Quite a bit of sensationalizing as well through movie-making liberty - music, profit-making theories (?), dialogues etc.
Rani's performance gave me goosebump. I cried with her throughout the movie. Movie came out perfectly for Mother's day. Mother's love is the greatest!
Don't get swayed by an actor's acting - it's only one side of the story.

Mother’s love is unmeasurable
16 yrs ago i went through similar fight against legal system and my daughter’s father.
This movie got me back those memories, sitting outside court and listening to all how bad of a mother i was.
But I didn’t let go , i had to let her be with dad for first yr, it was the most difficult yr of my life. I pulled through financially and for next 6 yrs I fought for her custody .
And yes i won, she is with me free and safe

Oh my God, I salute to mother, who fought for their children. I am from Pakistan, we both countries have almost same cultural values. Our parental system is so strong, and I pray that it would be more stronger with the passage of time. I also impressed with Indian Government who intervened to help to reunite mother and children. Mother and Children relation is like diamond, beautiful, crystal clear, shiny and so strong.

I was born in the U.S. and my heritage is Punjabi . My parents taught me about my culture, it's something I will never forget. I remember when white kids looked at me differently cause my Mom wore Indian traditional clothes. Black kids nor Spanish kids made fun me. They embraced me , while white kids treat me differently. I have a son that is 16 and I teach him to respect all races and religions. People are too judgemental and they need to Judge themselves before they judge someone else 🙄

And this sad story I LIVED in NORWAY (the best country to live in) and so many of us immigrants suffered this same story in Norway. One of the SADDEST moments of my life. I feel immense compassion for people experiencing this, and I HOPE that after this movie (and maybe other movies like this) - that the Norwegian government will have compassion ALSO. Thanks to Netflix and UA-cam for finally making it PUBLIC.

I had also lived in that same hell hole city when this happened and can confirm that Sagarika fought a very hard battle alone! I suggest people should never migrate to Norway, its just not worth it!
The movie had a great theme and the team put in a lot of effort to create such a meaningful film. Hats off to the entire team. It should advertise more and more, a great lesson for families , male community who underestimate and disrespect mother by creating such situations against her for monetary benefits.

My sister, who wasn’t really looking forward to the movie since she doesn’t like emotional movies, was literally crying so much and was in awe of how amazingly rani acted debika’s character! It is good rule but here they just made a mistake due to inability to understand the culture. Well not everything need to tolerated in name culture like beating the kids but doing other thing like feeding with hands was like big issue but just a different way
Not a single abuse is tolerated. Some things which are considered normal in India or Asian countries, like spanking, abusing; name calling, leaving child alone, not respecting the child or not seeing it as a human being will get your children taken away. People need to learn about country rules and culture before moving, and make sure they are ok with adjusting, not demanding others to adjust to their culture instead.

@@quinzeees6251 if youd botherd to do ANY reasearch, you would know its not about hand feeding or sleeping together lmao thats normal, noone takes your kids away here unless its a very good reason, like instability in the home, violence abuse, verbal abuse, not following up in school etc, and you get tons of help work out the issues before even taking the kids is even an option, unless there are sexual violance going on, this case happend yes, the movie makes it look like propaganda. There is a reason the indian govermant gave custody of the kids to thier familty and not here, think about why that is.

It is just so heartbreaking. I didn't know they do this to make money. What a shameful discovery. I thought this country was a peaceful place, but nah I am so disappointed. They make ways to break families especially to immigrants. I don't recommend this place to live in. This should be an eye-opener to all those who are planning to migrate in this country. Malaysian here. This tragedy also happen to Malaysian couples back in 2019. They take all 5 children. The parents just wants to dicipline the kids..Asian parents right. But misunderstood with child abuse.
