Crowd just shy of 95k the atmosphere last night was electric. 1st half Geelong fans were vocal and Tigers were quiet then in the 2nd half it was the opposite. Bachar was everywhere and always steps up in finals games when the game is in the balance.
I’m a Richmond supporter and was at this game. I was in tears at half time but when Richmond made their comeback, it became my favourite AFL game that I’ve seen in person.
How did they not show the first passage of play in the 3rd quarter: Cotchin’s tackle, ball spills to Caddy, Caddy to Prestia and Prestia’s stunning kick to Lynch. That was the moment of the game.
I never understand that when they show the highlights they always spend so much time showing the injuries and players limping off the ground..or landing akwardly on their ankle from all different angles... then dont show more of the important goals.

Best game I have ever seen! I was overseas at the time and couldn’t get reception but got live updates. I thought we were gone at half time, each time I refreshed the page we would be closer to the lead. It was an incredible feeling and especially to beat geelong in a prelim! That tap from Riewoldt to dusty was elite, probably my most favourite play in footy I have seen. I went to the grand final the following week. One of the best days of my life!

I’m a tiger but have to give credit to cats they were the better team in the first half it was a great game like a final should be tigers do seem to play best in second half always there’s only one winner but feel for the losers so close to finals this was us last year
Which is why they will win next week. At the start of the second half Richmond where a beast & dominated Geelong
Shortened quarters may affect that. They should have put them back to full length come finals time in my opinion.

Why can't Cats keep him? I am a Cats supporter but I live in Canada. It is puzzling why a franchise can't keep a young star.
Captain Charisma He wants to live in the state where he’s friends and family are which is WA so either West Coast or Fremantle will get him.
The main reason Tim Kelly wanted to go home to WA was that he has two children with autism that need family support and he has very little in geelong so have a little bit of respect before you go giving him a bake as all I can see is a good dad doing what most dads would do for there children.
I was there and the crowd was intense, best game i've been to Atmosphere wise and i've been to a lot of big games, the noise the microphones pick up doesn't do the crowd justice in how loud it was, Up the Tigers!

As a lonnnng time Richmond man, this game felt more important than the GF... seriously under the pump at half time, all the stakes. Not to discount how big the Final was, but heck what a game.
It was he culmination of all 2019 Richmond were working for; Lynch, 5 for Dusty, an intense game style that works at the smallest percent.. magic. And then there was Marlion Pickett, but that kids, is a story for another day.
Tigers got seriously challenged and responded 👌. I’m a doggies fan and was happy Richmond won. Great team to watch

Is that the best finals game so far? I know Brisbane GWS was a nail biter but Brisbane’s skill errors made it a frustrating watch. The high skill level of both teams here made it a fantastic game, with both having momentum at times.

Both diverfield and houli got pushed out so houli thought the free kick was for him but Chamberlain didn't say who it was for so cotchin gave the ball houli. Giving diverfield a 50 on top of the free because Cotchin gave the ball to houli but there was no indication who got the free kick
This is why Chamberlain should never umpire any match, he has zero feel for the game to be paying such a ridiculous (and potentially crucial) nit-picky 50 like that when the free was so dubious in the first place. Every fan knows his name and most hate him accordingly, that's no coincidence. How many other umpires can you name? Some guy clocked up 400 games recently and I had never heard of him, which is as it should be. Means he unobtrusively does a good job, and doesn't try to impose his ego on the game, especially when it's free to air with a big audience and the unbearable ump-mics. Who wants to hear their bullshit all day anyway?

How do you pay a free kick, not say or signal who's free it is, and then pay 50m when a player that wasn't involved in the play unintentionally gives it to the wrong person.
And then when an umpire says and signals to leave the protected area and the player flat out ignores the direction the umpire is pointing and keeps running through the protected area while not following an opposition player, doesn't get paid 50m.
@BuddyBoris. Good points. But what I'm thinking is - @ 2:27 , when RazorRay blew the whistle off camera, perhaps he signalled with his arm that it was a Geelong free?? Umpires normally do that, then follow up with the team name and player name. Is there vision somewhere that shows this? Note also that Dangerfield uses the tactic of turning his back, so that Cotchin can't give him the ball and mark a player. And what a dive by Dangerfield! Hope he gets fined for staging, along with Gryan Miers, to teach them to act like grownup men!

It was obvious who’s free kick it was, it doesn’t take a 300 IQ genius to figure out, and you can’t dive in mid-air that’s not how physics work.

The rules are actually for a home state final. Why should geelong get special treatment to play down at that windy hell hole that can't hold anywhere near as many supporters as the mcg. Maybe you could argue they should have probably played the eagles down there but they won that game anyway. Don't get me wrong I can see why supporters want geelong playing at their ground. They're a top 2 team when playing in geelong and more like a 5-8 team anywhere else, but that's their problem to figure out.
