I like how thorough you are on making sure that we are using the right bolts in the right places for the upper and lowing timing covers. That's something that I could have used many times on different vehicles. I can't tell you how many times I used longer bolts where they shouldn't have been used...haha
I have the same question as Brian Payne I'm kind of illiterate when it comes to cars but know enough to get me by lol I don't really understand what you mean by deflection and 1/8" in the bigger gap (Top Engine)? I think that's the most tricky part of changing the timing belt if you can help me out I'd really appreciate it, and thank you so much for posting this video I'd have you work on my car any day
In 3:55, where you rotate the tensioner using the hex key, can you share the technique you use so the tension is correct before you tighten the nut? How does the spring sits and how much do you orate the hex key? Thanks!
Are the arrows On the timing belt the direction of en engine rotation..if it is then is the belt installed incorrectly if engine rotation is clockwise?
On 8:45, where you do the final adjustment, can you elaborate on how you arrived to the final adjustment for the timing belt tension? I installed a new timing belt and a new tensioner using Gate's Component, it makes grinding noise and I don't know if it is a bad bearing or a timing belt. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Difficult question. You can see on the video how I push the belt down to see how much deflection. I am looking for a maximum deflection of 1/8" in the bigger gap (top engine).

Well done Sir, you save yourself plenty of dollars. Thanks for posting.

Bravo, man. I got tired just watching you do that.
brilliant what can I say !tnx...

What I mean is how much do you rotate the hex key?
What do you consider it is the right tension of the timing belt before you lock it in?
Thanks!
How do you know when its time to change out your timing belt?
Typically every 100k

Ya Mr Energy!!! Thanks for posting these!
something not right, is just too easy to put on the tension roller, probably the timing is off a little
