  • May 18 -- Even in the world of rare stones, Foxfire is a freak. It was buried in a place where big gem-quality diamonds aren’t supposed to exist. A Rio Tinto Group ore processor was configured to discard it. And what saved the diamond’s 187.7 carats from being pulverized was a fluke: Its unusual, elongated shape allowed it to slip sideways through a filtering screen.

Gemstones like Foxfire are very unique which ultimately drives the price to the new records and investors are willing to pay any price for the 'unique' label. Does that justify mining companies draining water from the lake and thus, alternating the surrounding landscape forever? I'll let you be the judge.

To all the people here hating on diamonds, diamonds have been a symbol, a status which many people call a rock with a huge amount of value, when cheap cotton and dyes can make a t-shirt that is valued at hundreds of dollars just for the sake of branding, why not a rock which is rare(not as rare as de beers and such companies say it) and shiny be given value, a marriage of nature, history and art to make highly refractive attractive jewels. At the end, it's about supply and demand; humans have been in love with this rock for quite sometime now and will surely still will be. Whatever it may be, it is us humans who value things which we find appropriate.

Great question. Here's what I, as a working poet, have to say about it: "Love is a moment of time we cling to, because, for that moment, everything else is meaningless. Life is utterly simplified, reduced to its least common denominator--the impetus to share oneself with an/the object of desire."

its also cuz the larger diamond was more beautifuler it was clear and not as yellow and didn't have as much imperfections so its not just the size cuz most of the time that size has to be cut down if you want it to be a real diamond the way we see today

The same as the one in 2.16, oily yellow and white in the middle, j or k. It's probably 0.15 0.2 carats. I wonder how much it is worth. A sweet oval-shaped diamond with a color close to the peace apple. There was an earthquake in our country, I removed the video of the diamond out of respect for our earthquake victims, I will upload the video again
    🙂😉☺

If one were to think about how many diamonds have been turned into jewelry, rings, pendants, bracelets, and earrings;over the course of the past two hundred years or so- how can anyone not realize how we are being duped? Rare? every different size, every different color, it is marketing trickery, and nothing more.
