"Just a rotifer" :-) Frankly I find them rather interesting.

I've just set up a microbe/invertebrate tank, but I emptied all my jars of water into it,and some water out of a waterbutt. Its all green and murky. There is one snail but only 2mm long. I am hoping to get more snails in the next week. I have no idea where the snail came from.

thank you Oliver it was an informative video, I am having trouble with the moss I'm trying to keep at home, for two times in a row my moss is getting ruined by over growing bacteria, I bring the moss and put it in a transparent glass jar with some water and place it on the window without covering it away from sunlight, after 2 to 3 days I find that the larger microbes that can be observed with 20x and 40x objectives like tardigrades, nematodes and rotifers have disappeared and the sample gets full of bacteria and a good number of ciliates, I thrown the first sample of moss and the sample I have right now is 10 days old, I decided to keep it thinking that they will re generate but so far all I can see are bacteria and ciliates, I even found 3 lacrymarias but I can't see them anymore, I'm not adding anything to the moss except for the tap water, the number of bacteria is overwhelming to the point where observing the sample looks like watching an analog TV static noise.

Are you covering the moss completely in water? Should not be doing that. Keep moist but in contact with air. If you send me a picture, maybe this helps.

the height of the water is only 1cm or 1.5cm from the bottom of the jar, I'm not sure if that too much or not, anyway, I just took a look at the jar and it looks like it's decomposing, almost all of it is brown now, I have sent you an email contains a link to my Google Drive folder and also a question, ty so much.
