    Thanks. Cabin air filter replacement is one of the things the oil-change places and other shops often try to upsell, at pretty high prices relative to the cost of buying the filter and installing it yourself. I recently told my wife to decline the service quoted to her (I think around $75) and that I would do it. I figured it would be something like this, but since I hadn't done it on this specific car, I looked for a video and found yours. I can now confidently go ahead and do this on my wife's car.

    You are absolutely the best man my dealership was going to charge me 1300 just to swap out all my filters and my fluids and me being the person I am I understand Cars to a certain degree you can ask me to open up an engine and do work but when it comes to basic maintenance as such I knew I was getting Rob I just needed a tutorial on how to do this and you will save me a bunch of money I think you a lot

    When i changed my cabin filter there was a noise afterwards. Turns out when I changed the filter a leaf must have dropped into the blower below. To fix this I simply took out the filter and put my hand down into the fan. (Car was off lol) Then I just spun the fan with my hands and found the leaves making the noise right on top and that fixed the problem. Maybe it might help someone else

    When I was getting an oil change the guy reached into my car and "checked" my air filter. He said he would recommend swapping it since there was a leaf in it. They were willing to swap it for the low price of $39.99 so I said I'll pass. He put it back in with the leaf on the filter and it has been making a noise ever since. I thought how hard could it be to do it myself. Thanks to your video not hard at all, and $30 cheaper too.

    It should be noted here that the glove box door hinges must snap into place on the bottom edge. A simple 15 minute job turned into a half hour job because I couldn't figure out why TF my glove box door was closing all funky. I gave it a good bang and it snapped right in and everything lined up properly. I almost lost one of the clips also. Try looking for one in a black interior! Lots of fun!

    Does the cabin air filter affect how the blower motor blows through the vents? Right now on my 2012 Cruze I'm not getting a lot of air through the vents. Turning it on high is kinda loud with some air but lower settings barely any air comes out.

    You helped me change out my cabin air filter. I'm 72 yr old woman and like to do what I can before paying a shop to do it. Boy was my filter clogged and look like a birds nest. So I got the side pull string back in when reassembling it, BUT when putting the side clips on the inside of the glove box ... they don't catch on anything and it drops the glove box downward not catching to close... I only see a cutout on the side wall where it slips into. I can't seem to figure out what they are suppose to attach to or clip to. I know this is an older video, but still hope you may see my question. Thanks.

    Does this help save gas?

    • @chicagoswishrhymesHARLEMOGden
      @chicagoswishrhymesHARLEMOGden 3 роки тому

      No. Just to make sure you have all the power of your heating and a/c and maybe take away the smell if there is one when you turn it on. If it gets very dirty it might make your heating and a/c be weaker. Also I had a friend who smoked a lot in his car and when he changed it the smell went away. It’s just for the heating and a/c and doesn’t affect gas. I guess technically if you have a dirty filter and need to use the a/c but since the air flow is very weak on the low settings due to the dirty filter you have to crank it up to high. And by using the a/c on the more powerful settings that might affect overall efficiency of your engine and gas. But for the most part it’s just for air flow and smell.
