- Cocaine Cowboys: The Kings of Miami. Watch the documentary series saga on August 4th, only on Netflix.
Fifteen years after the release of his original cult classic film comes director Billy Corben’s Cocaine Cowboys: The Kings of Miami - a six-part saga on the South Florida traffickers indicted in one of the largest drug cases in U.S. history. Alleged to be the chief U.S. distributors for two of Colombia’s biggest cartels, Cuban exiles Augusto “Willy” Falcon and Salvador “Sal” Magluta were accused of smuggling over 75 tons of cocaine into the U.S. in the 1980s. The high school friends built a reputed $2 billion empire that made Willy and Sal, aka “Los Muchachos,” two of Miami’s biggest celebrities. While law enforcement plotted their takedown, the world champion powerboat racers managed to skillfully outrun and outmaneuver prosecution for decades before the chase finally came to an end. Featuring colorful interviews with those closest to them, their defense team, and the Feds tasked with taking them down, the series paints a vivid portrait of the last of Miami’s “Cocaine Cowboys".

Two childhood friends go from high school dropouts to the most powerful drug kingpins in Miami in this true story of a crime saga that spanned decades.
It seems Netflix is now the second biggest beneficiary from cocaine buisness.
since they got us hooked on Narcos
@@DS-iz4lz yup man I am familiar with Netflix from Narcos, that was the only good show on cocaine
And some and yet a multi million dollar company go out and get the cheepest employees so they can pay them peanuts and the fat cats can really sleep well at Christmas on millions of dollars boats in Monte Carlo hooray for Netflix
So true they’re the real drug here lol
@Arif, it says a lot about us subscribers that @Netflix has so many shows about cocaine 😢...

It's coming out soon! This fall!
It’s got to be done!
So much truth. Thank You!!!!
Dude that and stranger things 4 need to be released. To be honest I liked narcos Mexico more than the regular narcos.
@ScoresMan923 LFSW that's what I'm saying. When they focused on Cali cartel it just wasnt the same. I hope it doesn't happen with Mexico now that Gallardo is locked up.
Love these 80s Miami story’s, if there would be a time travel machine i would travel to Miami in the 80s
If you did go back you might get shot and never come back!!!! Especially living that life.
angel ortiz i didn’t mean it that way, i like these story’s but i don’t want to be involved in the drug trafficking just the time, music, clothing
Miami was a shit hole then..... Other than all the docs the celebrate and glamourize drug traffickers' (not dealers as that life is a lot less pretty) and murders. It is amazing to me that people look at a doc about someone with fancy cars, women and money and assume that means it must have been a great time to be around haha. There's people who are living this lifestyle today (that they will make movies about in 30+ years glamorizing it as the hay days in a beautiful utopian drug trafficking life), if you really want it, go talk to them and start selling their products and hope to work your way up the ladder... without getting killed or busted. Goodluck!
@@Lhansmeyer33 wrong. Miami in the late 80s and early 90s became a renaissance city. It was booming, actors, celebs etc were moving here because real estate was at an all time high and NO STATE TAX. If anything miami is boring now but it was in its prime when these guys were running the streets.
@@MIGGYME1 so was LA and NY. What's your point? Having a few actors there doesn't make a city great. Especially for your average citizen. Also... I wouldn't call Miami boring nowadays haha. I always have a great time there.
Real estate prices are still high in Miami. And no income tax doesn't make a state or city great. There's so many shithole cities in Florida and in Texas. They still get that tax money from other places too.... it's not always a benefit to have zero income tax. It only benefits the few people who make tons of legal money. The rest end up paying shitloads more in other fees and property taxes. So yes.... these idiots online talking about how great it would be would be the ones footing the bill for the handful of actors who moved there. Haha
Quitting while you're ahead isn't the same as quitting. Sal said "I'll quit when I have a billion." When he already had $100 million and no one suspected him of a thing. Like that dealer Jorge said, "it's a war you can never win, the only victory is walking away."
gotta know when to hold em, know when to fold em
Willie said that
It’s a silly notion cause the cautious would very likely never start in the first place. So expecting a high risk reward personality to then be conservative is a tall order
When you've made more money than you can spend in 5 lifetimes you gotta know when to step back. Running from the biggest mafia gang (The American government) will never end in your favour.
Amen
The hustle/power/fame was the goal by that point, not the money itself or pursuance of more of it. Or, they were just THAT greedy...i think the less tangible motives make more senes though
The American government are the ones that run that racket… they pay these guys to do the job
@@patscool234 I think it's more like the American government run a coke racket and they stop people running their own hustle cause it's like moving in on their turf, eliminate the competition.
Thanks for your input toss pot
I am glad to have lived Miami in the 80s. Nothing on Netflix or Hollywood can describe the surreal times we lived.
stop lying
I never understood the love for Narcos, when Cocaine Cowboys is far better and actually accurate to the events that occurred. One of the greatest documentary series ever made.
Hopefully we can see a movie or series soon !!!!
Because Narcos is a series, not a doc. Docs are almost always a lot boring
The intro music to cocaine cowboys makes me happy the second I hear it
Period
I couldn't get into Narcos but this looks good, I thought it was a movie. So it is a series and pervious seasons are already out? I might need to call my sister for her netflix password.
