  • We traversed a portion of the San Juan Skyway between Ridgway and beyond Telluride in the Colorado mountains, and we absolutely believe this is the most scenic route you can drive in Colorado. This route consists of highway 62 and highway 145 which connect the quaint mountain towns!

    There is some gorgeous scenery to experience in the southeast portion of the front range. And in some places...free camping. There are old villiages and homesteads, cattle ranches. The twin peaks are a sight to behold and there are little roads off to the side that let you see the peaks up close and personal. LeVeta is a nice old town and the Cuchara area is beautiful as well. The geological formations will knock your sox off. Theres some decent trout fishing to be had all over the place.

There is an additional option shown towards the end of the video that includes continuing on CO 145 south beyond the town of Telluride, this route passes through more of the mountain range. The video ends looking at Wilson Peak along CO 145.

      @ThisScenicLife  4 роки тому

    Very pretty area and I love the San Juans. They are probably the most majestic of all the ranges in Colorado. I wouldn't claim this is the most scenic route in Colorado though. Independence Pass, Squaw Pass, even the Million Dollar Highway would rate above this area in my opinion. Nice video though.
