Mike, a well-reasoned review of the selection process. As far as C8s go, there won’t be any groundbreaking design changes between the ‘24 & ‘25, and you’re right on the money with an inevitable price increase. Last chance on a couple of discontinued colors is compelling, too. Thanks for giving a bunch of Corvette fans something to think about!
Hey Mike. I have a Z06 with NMC delivery date of 7 June. The color is carbon flash Matrix. I was on the fence about waiting. Glad I pulled the trigger. Thanks for the video, it reinforces my choice. Also- looks like stonebriar has several Z06’s for sale- on the lot. MSRP.
First, I am a car collector. Always loved corvettes as my first one was a 1962 C1. I purchased it way back in 1978. Still own it today, along with 6 other vettes, C2, C3, C4, C6, and my favorite, which is a C7 2019 ZR1 Coupe with the 3ZR trim package. I do own a 2022 C8 Z51 package with endless upgrades. I also was on the list at the same dealer for a Z06. After 18 months of no movement, I lost interest. So, I decided to treat myself to an upgrade instead. Just recently took delivery of my 2024 Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato Coupe AWD. It has 631 hp 5.2 V10. It is mind-blowing to say the leadt. Yes, the price sticker was twice as much as the Z06, but they are also not apples for apples! The Lambo is far superior. It's GM's loss! I am more than satisfied with the 22 C8 Z51 at a price point all in at $109,000k. I give GM credit for finally making the mid-engine. It was an 8 month wait for the 22' C8. 12k miles, no issues! I just don't agree with the approach that GM continued with post covid. I just can't wrap my head around C8 allocations and how the Z06 ate into the overall C8 allocations. My wife will just have to settle with her 2022 Ferrari F488 Pista. She's happy, so I am thrilled. The other perk is that she's hotter than her car! Enjoy your rides!
As a C7 Z06 owner, Cacti is the best, most interesting color they have, and it's gone for 2025. That's reason enough for me The Hysteria color is also a fail, as it's more blue than purple It's a purple for when you don't really want to do purple
Sitting October 2, 2024, plenty of 2024’s sitting at dealerships and they should all be willing to price below MSRP. High interest rates are probably the big killer on any car sale at the moment. I got a 2024 2LT no frills, not highly optioned, price was good for the car. I believe I heard about a $5,000 price increase for a 2025 so getting one now made sense. Fall can be a great season yet. I could have ordered and timed for a spring delivery but decided to go with in stock selection. They are moving as dealer inventory has reduced since September 1 as I was tracking.
My ( Carbon flash Metallic) Z06 is being built next week , glad I was able to get it , NOT so glad my Z06 will not have apple play , heard google is Not an improvement
You know what? I'm sad I didn't have YOU launch my Eray to REALLY show me what she is capable of and to experience your driving skills which I understand are absolutely incredible! Dang- I didn't even think of it that day. Thank you for this video and I hope you have a great day! Happy Mother's Day to your wife.
I was soo disappointed for the accelerated yellow, I own a C6 on yellow and I was hoping to replace it with a nee one but when I saw that awful yellow color I immediately said no!’what the hell was GM thinking? I hope they fired whoever approved it, I ordered a 2023 torch red instead and kept my yellow C6, but now I think I am getting a Z06 in yellow and get rid of my two corvettes
Accelerate yellow is amazing, I understand you don’t like it, but they should be firing whomever came up with Caffeine Brown, not amazing accelerate yellow.
@@BrinkofSpeed 😂😂😂 I agree with you in that brown, Chevrolet used on the C3 before but nahh I think a sport car has to be in fun colors light blue, red, yellow, orange,
I'm Glad I have a 2023. Can't stand the Google interface. Only option I wish we had available is the 3LT leather stitched Horn cover as I have a 2LT. Great Video!😎👍
Don't you think the C8 badge is better on the hood instead of the front bumper? You don't leave any thumb marks when closing the hood. I forgot to tell the PPF to stick the badge on the hood.
Rates are high now, 2025 will have matching color engine cover and with all those crazy trans recalls l will wait and take my chances. Besides all whats left are the red black white and some grey. Who ever pays 8% or more its a mistake. On 2019 C8 (for 2020 models) came out with 0.9% or 0% looking forward for those. If not they can keep the car.
I have a 2020 and will now wait for a 2026 and hopefully they will add something like Verde Mantis or Verde Ithica or Viper SSG... Even Krypton Green would be cool...
Another reason to order a 2024: per the "Infrastructure Bill" passed in 2023, HR3684, new and ridiculous and absurd mandates being imposed on manufacturers forcing implementation by the 2027 model year on ALL cars, foreign and domestic. The worst of these is the "kill switch" that disables your car against your will and can be implemented remotely by law enforcement or other "authorities". If you think there is not a huge potential for abuse here, you're living in Lala Land. This is an outrageous violation of the fourth amendment that almost NOBODY is aware of. AND IT HAS ALREADY PASSED! Aside from the infringement on our rights as driving citizens, can you just imagine how much all of this crap will add to the price of cars? Here is an excerpt from a summary of the bill: "The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act requires the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to develop a safety mechanism to prevent drunk driving, which causes about 10,000 deaths each year in the United States as of 2021, which will be rolled out in phases for retroactive fitting, and will become mandatory for all new vehicles in 2027. The technology, which is being developed by NHTSA in cooperation with the Automotive Coalition for Traffic Safety and Swedish automobile safety company Autoliv, consists of a breath-based and a touch-based sensor that stops the car if the driver is above the legal blood alcohol content, and will be open-sourced to automobile manufacturers. Under the law, the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) will be required to develop regulations for a system that can detect distracted, fatigued, or impaired drivers. The NHTSA has recommended implementing a camera-based warning system for the former, similar to a technology mandated by the European Union in July 2022. The law also requires the NHTSA's New Car Assessment Program to test collision avoidance systems in preparation for new federal regulations; new DOT reporting requirements for statistical data on crashes involving motorized scooters and electric bicycles; new federal regulations on headlamps; research directives on technology to protect pedestrians and cyclists, advanced driver-assistance systems, federal hood and bumper regulations, smart city infrastructure, and self-driving cars; and a new Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) office specializing in cybersecurity."
PRICE INCREASES! The ‘23’s had THREE price increases, the ‘24’s had two…and the 2nd price increase on ‘24’s happened after only 2 weeks of production! The days of the only price increase happening at the start of each model year are long gone now it seems!
GM sales will slump in this saturated C8 market. They have finally managed to price many would be owners out. Inflation and greed are taking over. The prices have increased every year to a point of no return. No one will continue to buy these cars at MSRP. GM has ruined the used C8 market as well. Too many high volume runs.
Are you somehow benefiting from making the advice of buying a new 2024. You do know you will lose about $20 K just driving off the dealers lot if you pay sticker. Look for $10k or more discount from dealer on a new 2024. And then friends plan on keeping the Corvette for at least a couple of years and go ahead and put some miles on it (5k plus per year) there are different ways to play the game but this is my view. I have owned over 100 cars in 60 years from Ferrari's to Volkswagen's over 50 new Chevy's. You know what they say about opinions, just like ---holes everyone has one.
Mike, Why do you insist on mispronouncing Rick Conti's name ? This is disrespectful to Rick and it is distracting to your video. Instead of focusing on what you are saying we are focusing on your aperient refusal to use correct pronunciation of a fellow UA-cam member.
Here's 4 reasons ,1 it's a absolute rip off.2,it doesn't offer a manual transmission which is another absolute slap in the face.3 it's ugly as sht,and 4 it's a Chevrolet so it's so far behind quality wise it's not even a possible option
