Yes that’s why I’m getting the mugen carbon hardtop just because I know the fit and quality is like factory. Plus I’m one that only wants to do it once and be done with it. Remember you get what you pay for yeah you can go cheap but you will most likely being doing it again. That’s just my thoughts great looking car keep doing what you love and be safe.
Nice video! Cool to see a comparison. Although you are way behind the times with modifying the replica hardtop. There is a DIY on S2ki from like 6 years ago on how to install the OEM hardtop seals onto a rep Mugen top. Plus, you can add a real glass window to the rep top which is a LOT nicer than the plastic that comes on the authentic Mugen and the forbidden tops. $250 for glass window and $250 for the OEM window seals. For $500 bucks you can turn the forbidden top into something much nicer than the authentic Mugen. I think my carbon forbidden top was $1600 + $250 for the glass window + $250 for the OEM window seals so all in all $2100. Still way beyond cheaper than the real Mugen. You even get the metal track that the OEM seals seat into! Check it out!
True you can get everything together but at that price you still have the one piece brackets. Honestly it’s not a bad way to go, I would have went that route, but since I got an authentic for $2300 with all oem hardware it was a deal I couldn’t resist!

Thanks for the video! quick question regarding those forbidden brackets. With the quick release brackets, are you able to put up the soft top?
Yes, still retain the function of softtop, the catchers still work.
