    Great info. Don’t think the screeders will be busy with that floor flex at the end 😂. Thanks for the vid

    Always tape a thick foam pad to the wheel barrow in front of the tire so, when tipping the wheel barrow, the pipe does not get damaged. Cement contractors are notorious for damaging in floor heating pipes.

    Nobody said you can't walk on it with plywood sheets to prevent point loads but you can't cover it until it has cured and that needs 28 days unless you use fast track screed. Basic building procedure.

    This was more than ten years ago.If is so fantastic why haven't we all got it.Is it the cost again way out of peoples reach or what? The majority of us have radiators and some back up heating.Maybe it is cheaper to run.So is eating dry bread everyday you live.

    is the concrete slab that the sheets lie on insulated?

    is the concrete slab that the sheets lie on insulated?
    Yes it has a 75mm Celotex sheet under the concrete. You need as much insulation as you can get. Have a look at skill-builder for more information

      Roger Bisby Rodger, Hi some eight months ago "track a hack" asked you a question regarding the flow meters being on the hot supply or the cold return I have the same problem and had 4 plumbers to try and fix my heating, with no success, I have found no reply to his question and wondered if you could repeat or let me know the answer, thanks Barry daxkitcar@gmail.com

      My bungalow has a concrete floor (that has thin tiles sat on top of it). Does that mean I need to dig the concrete out, install some insulation and re-concrete it before I could consider installing UFH?

    • @SkillBuilder
      @SkillBuilder Рік тому +1

      @@SouthCoastFinest Hi Darren
      There are low build systems that will go on top of concrete floors but you will lose a lot of heat into the slab so it will never be as good as having insulation under the screed or concrete.

    • @SouthCoastFinest
      @SouthCoastFinest Рік тому

      @@SkillBuilder Did the home in this video have a concrete floor originally? Was it taken up, insulated with Celotex and re-concreted over before this video was filmed.

    I’m have an extension built currently,it’s about 60 sq metres with about 5 metres of bifold doors and 2 small roof lanterns, would UFH be sufficient to warm the room without rads?

    • @immers2410
      @immers2410 4 роки тому

      I’ve got a similar sized extension with similar openings. Did you go for UFH in the end? Was the heat output sufficient?

    I do have doubts about the time the cost, and all that bother ,when in a couple of hours you can fir a standard rad and be just as cosy so much quicker,all that techy stuff,ref waiting for the screed to dry ,and letting it all cool down for a carpet or lino fitter..Sure if you buy a new house and its got it fine ,.

    • @SkillBuilder
      @SkillBuilder 6 років тому +7

      Peter you are in a minority. I find that everyone wants UFH these days and nobody wants radiators. The reason is that you can feel the difference immediately. You can heat the room from the top down with a radiator or the bottom up with UFH. No contest.

    • @billray1785
      @billray1785 5 років тому +2

      less heat to use on ufh where rads need a lot more, loss of wall space etc although if you want warm socks you can't put them on the rad to warm up.
