The BX4's are not studio monitors(as they are multimedia reference monitors...like the box they came in says.) Studio monitors are built & engineered for more precision for critical listening(such as having the sonic ability to decipher where all of the different tracks should sit in the mix.) Reference multi-media monitors are fine for DJ'ing, beat-making & video work...but that's about it. Also...you referred to the low frequency driver on the BX4's as sub-woofer(but in fact, it's just a LF driver(or woofer.) The difference being...is what you have there, is a woofer cone that only has the ability to go down to 69Hz and the sub low frequency spectrum is 60hz & all the way down to 20Hz. Generally....sub-woofers are a separate cabinet that is dedicated to producing LF sound in the 20HZ to 60Hz range. However...many studio monitors generate LF sound into the 60hz to 45Hz range...but the monitor set up that go down as far as 20Hz, are considered subwoofers. Some of the much more expensive high end range of studio monitors have a 3-way system(wherein the cabinet has a tweeter, a mid/bass woofer and a 3rd woofer that handles the LF sub bass.
It sounds clear and you can control the high and low frequencies on the back of the speakers, if you’re in a small room like a bedroom they will sound fine (my opinion)
Hello sir! How long is that passive speaker connection cable? thanks! ALSO did you just hook one trs balanced cable in the back? or are you supposed to use two?? is it one for left and right? or is it just one for the whole set?
The passive speaker cable is about 3ft long, also the "Trs balanced cable" only hooks up to the back of the main speakers to your amp or interface and just make sure you have the passive cable connected to the main speaker.
