Thanks for the video. Im still in the "try everything" phase in my life, and one of the things I want to try is my hand at making a personal brand for myself. Im already learning slowly from Ali Abdaal's skill share class for the youtube side, but what are some more beginner "Xs and Os" for an online personal brand?

I'm not an accountant, but, technically, you're supposed to report any income that you've earned for your taxes. For the example where you're selling, like, twenty t-shirts, you can legally sell them and report the income as hobby income as long as you made less than $4000, which is probably the case for twenty shirts. Hobby expenses are not deductible, however, and that's one of the key advantages to reporting as business income instead. You can deduct business expenses even exceeding your business income, but you'll need to go through all the hoops to prove you are actually running a business.
Obviously, practically speaking, the IRS won't know or care that you made, like, a hundred bucks of profit selling 20 shirts.

Long time follower of all three of you guys. Awesome topic fellows. I appreciate the advice. I’ve met Nadeem a handful of times at the LA Fit expo. I definitely see the struggle of getting a brand out. My company is Rad Dad Life. The hard part is focusing on one target audience. I mean dads are the target audience. I know I’m all over the place with my content but I honestly make videos that I want and sometimes it makes my topics pretty broad. Keep it up fellows.

Talking about working in the industry first kinda reminds me of that guy that quit his 6 figure job to go work for Logan Paul. He quit his job first, then kinda ambushed Logan Paul at Jake Paul's fight (i think?) to try and work for him. He'd never talked to him before, never messaged him, or anything. He just figured that "hey im a great worker, Logan would be lucky to have me!" The guy is seriously trying to show Logan his Instagram and whatnot when Logan obviously doesnt care cause i'm sure he gets hit up a million times a day with people trying to work for him. Of course Jake brushed him off. The dude started crying too cause He realized he messed up.

I played in bands and sold shirts forever. Not a once did we pay taxes on it…. Never sold enough for the IRS to care 😂
