  • Oh lavender! Who doesn’t love the fresh, calming aroma of this beautiful purple perennial? In this video tutorial I am going to show you how easy it is to make these charming lavender wands.
Use this simple weaving method to contain and preserve these beautiful, yummy smelling flowers. These wands make great gifts and something that will last for many years.
Great to put in your linen closets and drawers to keep things smelling fresh and to repel pests.
    Item and Materials Needed:
    FRESH CUT LAVENDER
RIBBON (YOU WILL NEED APPROXIMATELY 1 1/2 YARDS) PER WAND.
SCISSORS (FOR CUTTING RIBBON AND TO TRIM THE STEMS)
This is a very relaxing and rewarding project. So gather some friends or family around and do a little weaving. Making these lavender wands will give you some time to SLOW down, do a little chatting and enjoy some aromatherapy as well. Your house will smell fabulous!
Check out the blog post for all the details.
I share recipes, crafts and other tips for using these herbs.

Hello! 🙋🏽‍♀️ I was searching on UA-cam how to make these, and so I ended up here. Thankyou for the explanation! I will try making one soon when the lavender plants are opening their flowers! 🥰

Hi Lisa, so glad you ended up here! It's actually better to make the wands when the flowers haven't quite opened up yet.
You can read more details about it here.

This is wonderful idea Jan! I have three lavender bushes that produce so many stems...always wondering what I can do to preserve them somehow. This is so perfect and love the idea of putting them on a gift! Question: My lavender was perfect about 2 weeks ago; the blooms are now drying up. Do you think I can still make these or would the blossoms be too brittle and crumbly? Thank you! :)

Thank you for sharing how to make these, as i love to use my lavender in projects. Is there a best time to harvest the lavender to make these? I'm seeing this video a month after it was uploaded and my lavender has fully bloomed. Have i past the prime time?

I can’t wait to do this! How fresh does the lavender need to be? Is that important, or will dried work?

Once cut, you can wait a few days, but not too long as the stems become more brittle and will crack when bending.
