thanks for diving into each film and giving us your thoughts on the transfers and features. most other “reviews” that i have seen for the set have been simply unboxing and naming the releases. glad you took the extra time for the full reviews 👍👍
We love this new collection, Volume 4, (we have all the volumes) This came out Valentines Day week ... and this is perfect adult-relationship film collection for those who want more than just moonlight and roses in their love story dramas and classic comedy. We've come to really appreciate Sony's determination to remain #1 in 4K releases. If Disney could do with its 20th Century Fox library what Sony has done with its Columbia library ... physical media aficionados would have more than reason to celebrate.
I wish EVERY title in this entire Columbia Classics line received a domestic individual release, perhaps a year out after each collection’s release. I just don’t care enough about every title in each collection to justify owning them all. Taxi Driver and Punch Drunk Love come to mind, in regards to ones that I really want on 4K!
I only bought the first collection. I have however handpicked the movies I want from collections 2 and 3. Shortly after release they are usually sold brand new on ebay for roughly £20 each. Only exception was Taxi Driver which cost me about £35 but I paid it because it was the one in that collection that I wanted most.
Recently rewatched Kramer vs Kramer, Guess who's coming to dinner, and Sleepless. All of them are wonderful movies and transfers. Altough Sleepless seems a bit dimm. Awesome review bro. You are the king of the physical media. Would like to see your picks for Volume 5. Mine are:

Excellently thorough review! Have the first 3 sets and am interested in getting this one, though the price is gonna have to come down quite a bit. The last 2 sets haven’t sold out nearly as fast as couple 1 did, and have dropped as low as 70 bucks, so I’m good to wait a bit. As far as extras, I can’t be too upset as volume 3 had some of the most extensive extras I’ve ever seen (literally a bonus film or series was included with almost every movie)
I just realized we finally got Paul Thomas Anderson on 4K. Hopefully, There Will Be Blood or Magnolia comes soon.
It’s not the first one though, that went to the phantom thread.

Very good review you did ,of this great box set, Yes, this box set is about love, in all different ways. Please Columbia keep them coming, i`ll be back for more. The book that comes with the set is very nite, with good information, about the movies and restaurations of all movies.

I was raising my eyebrows at how this set is at a higher price than the previous volumes. But once I got it then I realized that it included all episodes of the Starman follow-up show, which I wasn't aware it was going to have that. While I'm still not sure that this *completely* 100% justifies this price increase, it at least makes it make more sense.

Thanks for the review. I have vol 4 coming in the mail. I have vol 1 and 3 as well. I dont like dark movies like taxi driver and not into the facebook founder so i just picked up anatomy of a murder on ebay and skipped vol 2. I simply cant pass up black and white movies in 4k.
As for guessing titles for vol 5, they will always have an older black and white movie with every set.
Hello love the review! Was wonder Sleepless in Seattle 4k is currently $43 on eBay was wonder if the Blu ray or is the 4k worth upgrading too?

Why is vol.4 so freaking expensive on amazon, the earlier ones were around 120$ when they dropped.
