When I use inlays this way I prefer to put the colour onto the inlay before I put it into the resin I find it much easier and less messy 😊
I do to but I didn’t think they would be submerged enough
They're very pretty. I've never seen anyone leave the inlay in, though. I peel them back out. I use a silacone inlay for my signature on the back of my pieces. The flowers are stunning with the flakes. ❤

If I remember correctly the alcohol only works on UV resin. He used mold release spray on epoxy. Lightly spray it, and let it dry for 5 minutes, then put your chameleon powder/flakes on them.

Those sticks with the grit on the ends .. they are for pedicures .. they grind off cuticles .. I also just started using them for softening edges on resin ..

And the flower that is done with the hearts, and the star center wouldn’t be a really cool for a patriotic holiday. May be little strips of masking tape across the hearts, and then you could paint the inside stripes red paint the star blue pull the tape off and put a white backing in there and it would😅 make a really cool looking patriotic flower.

Maybe if possible...with your Cricut, create something that says "SUMMER" above the off-center flower...then it won't look off-center!! 💜😊💜
For the sides you can brush mica on the side of the mold and then do your project.... this way, when de-molding, the resin piece edges will be already covered.

Hi Michelle, I noticed you were having problems with the alcohol making the resin sticky so the mica flakes stick. From what Daniel said, only the UV resin works with the alcohol method, 2 part resin doesn’t get sticky like the UV resin does. I hope that helps. You are amazing and I am so inspired by your talent. Wow Michelle, watching your struggle with the lack of stickiness, was thinking colour the inlays and then pop into the clear, take out and then back in black?? But I haven't done resin in 2 years since the stroke, so I might be wrong. ❤❤❤

So if I screw up with a big ole bubble, I just learned that if I sand the surface, and wash off with alcohol , I can re-correct my using UV resin again? OMG I wish i learned this months ago. Thanks!!!!!! How does it go from scratched to clear again? Amazing

Is there a way Michelle to make the bottom of your mold shiny? I’ve heard a mold release does, some have mentioned oil, top coating does. I’m just wondering and you’ve probably already mentioned this in another video. lol. Also, I have several ornaments but they are very shallow. Can they be used as inlays. I can fill them, but they make very thin ornaments in the end and are a “you know what” to fill. 😂
I don't know of any way to make a mold shiny again, unless it's completely flat and you coat it with a new coat of silicone. But some silicones won't stick to others so that's not always an option. I usually just topcoat everything that way I know it will be even on the whole surface. Your inlays need to be made of silicone if you want to pull them out. If you want them permanent, then you would leave them in and pour over depending on what your ornaments are made of.

I bought the hippo from intoresin. Could you please show me how to do the ears and tail in a different color.
You would have to paint them after demold or put mica powder in them before pouring.

Hey Michelle! Thanks for all the tips and tricks you packed into this video. Through you we know Ailene's Tack It is what works for cured epoxy and chameleon powders and flakes. Here is the link to Daniel's video about the alcohol ua-cam.com/video/elntDLpn1g4/v-deo.html He just dampened a paper towel with alcohol and then rubbed it on the UV resin. Hope that helps. I think the coasters came out really pretty and I learned some great hacks. 💖😁
