    nice part about the manual leveling, would be really keen for some sort of auto generated gcode on your website. The only inputs on the generator would be box size, zero point, and how much to cut through. Making this as easy as possible be very appealing

      We do not recommend running gcode that you did not create.

    I don’t have a straight edge that is the diagonal distances between the mounting feet… to get center. can I just home the machine and then manually jog to x & y center? For etch-a-sketch method (lol) what is the actual travel speed when using the joystick.

    For anyone wondering how to create the flattening file, take a look at mark lindseys spoilboard video. It worked well for me using vectric aspire/vcarve

    When moving back and forth how fast is the Onefinity moving? With the speed-up in the video it is hard to see how long this should take. Which "mode" on the controller is being used?

    Wouldn't it save time by attaching a dial indicator to the Z slider and with the tip find the lowest point of the spoil board and start from there?

    • @OnefinityCNC
      @OnefinityCNC  2 роки тому

      There's many ways to do it, you can definitely use a dial indicator!

      Watch the previous video to figure out the wasteboard size.

    • @TheFabExperiement
      @TheFabExperiement 2 роки тому

      I think they recommend -0.5 inch from the cut size that means 31.75 x 31.75 or am I wrong.

    • @TheFabExperiement
      @TheFabExperiement 2 роки тому

      Oh my bad they say .5 in on each side so the spoilboard is 31 1/4 x 31 1/4 then. Can someone confirm ? Or am I still incorrect :)

    • @OnefinityCNC
      @OnefinityCNC  2 роки тому +1

      We've made is slightly smaller on all 4 sides than the cutting area. The cutting area on the woodworker is 32 1/4x 32 1/4, so we've made it 31.75x31.75. Our surfacing bit has a wide reach so it will reach past the limits of the machine leaving use with a smooth surface across the entire wasteboard.

    Is there any reason to not flatten the wasteboards attached to the QCW directly?

    • @OnefinityCNC
      @OnefinityCNC  2 роки тому +1

      It could lead to raised spots outside of the cutting area.

    • @matbeedotcom
      @matbeedotcom Рік тому

      @@OnefinityCNC correction: it DOES lead to raised spots. It's impossible to have perfectly flattened QCW wasteboards unless you flatten your QCW wasteboard, pop out the raised ones, and then flatten those separately.

    Hmm maybe tram it before you surface it to ensure proper "mating" between bit and spoil board.

    • @OnefinityCNC
      @OnefinityCNC  2 роки тому +2

      Tram is after you surface it. Then you resurface it.

  • @chriswhitmarsh6726

    What am I missing? Did I waste my money on the QCW? Using this method, I'm still creating another waste board and I'm blocking the T tracks of the QCW to secure parts down. I thought the entire purpose of the QCW was so I didn't have to make one.

      I am also confused my this, why is he showing us how to flatten a chunk of mdf that isn’t the wasteboard?

      I'm confused also, what infinity replied does not match what I am seeing. I do not think the bit can go 3/4" lower to level the waste board under the chunk of wood they flattened.
