Loved this video Adelina! For anyone curious about Trailers (park model) vs. Tiny Homes, I live in a trailer park and the #1 complaint I hear from people who live here year round is how cold they get during the winter, particularly around the floor where there is little to no insulation. Even if it's skirted, a lot of cold air will blow in from underneath the house. Most trailers here are more than twice the size of my house (and often more than twice the price of mine too), but as Adelina, said they are built to a different set of standards and made with different materials. I also see a lot of people wrapping the inside or outside of their windows in some kind of plastic during the winter. I presume they let in a lot of air leaks, or are single pane windows to be lighter. Having in-floor heating and spray foam insulation in my tiny house, I am MUCH warmer here than anywhere I've lived before, and having the heat source at the coldest point in the house that rises to my loft area is very energy efficient and doesn't use much resources to stay warm all night.
Smiling with you on that last question! All my life I was interested in finding the right person to share life with, but now I am so happy and used to arranging my life and time my way. . . It would be hard to shift into that kind of partnership.
(Personally) If I were living in a tiny house , I would want that special person living in their tiny house next door. Lol with a path between the two so we could be together when we wanted to but also have our own space to retreat to when we need our own space. They can decorate how they like and be as neat or not as they like but still share meals, movies and together time. That would be heaven to me. I have a wonderful partner, but we don't agree on some of those issues, and that would be a perfect solution for me. Don't tell him I said that😂
I saw a video of a couple who had that exact arrangement. They had their tiny houses sited so that their side “yards” and decks faced each other and were almost one continuous space. They each had their own style in their homes. It was a great arrangement.
I'm in New England and with the clocks turning back today I am breaking out my happy lamp as well for the dark seasons. Happy Birthday to sweet Sophie.
Diplomatically answered Adelina! ( The last question) Bravo! I enjoy your chats, your hilarious quirky nature and sincerity about how life is….the ups and downs, pros and cons. This helps me realise life isn’t perfect and to appreciate the beautiful aspects around me. Thanks for bringing these things to the table. Have a great week ahead! 🍁🍂🌲🐿🦝
A nice, eye-opening video. But always interesting/watchable. Early on, when outside, it looked like you had some lavender eye makeup and lipstick to go with your hoodie? I thought that looked really nice. You're all woman, but some things about you are so adorable and "little girl"-like, it just melts me...your little boots, your laundry coins in that tiny jar, the little expressions that come across your face sometimes, etc. Just very endearing and "cute". I don't know if that's stuff I'm supposed to say/point out, but we're all adults/friends here (all on the same page and supportive/respectful of you, and fans/admirers), so I'm just saying what I notice/like about your videos. You very often knock the "adorable" needle off the dial, and it's some of my favorite parts of these things. There. Sue me. LOL. PS - Happy birthday, sweet Sophie. I know how important/special you are to your mom's life, and such great comfort and company! I feel like I've known you for two-plus years too, having seen you early on in your mom's videos. You are such a sweet, snuggly little chirpy kitty and I know you make your mom happy. You can see it in her eyes/face when you show up or "talk". And it's one of those things I love about these clips. A video without Sophie is like a day without sunshine. She's just so cute and such a personality. Thanks for sharing, Adelina.
Happy birthday Sophie!!!🥳🎉🎊😘😘 Enjoy your lazy day beautiful!!! 😁👍😘 And thank you Adelina for your answers and story! Always looking forward to your vlogs!! Absolutely ❤ your travelvlogs so I can have a little journey and see some of Vancouver Island. It’s such a beautiful area!! ❤❤
Love that lavender sweatshirt! Which brings me to my question. How would you score yourself overall for the year on your “low spend year” according to your 4 rules at the beginning of 2023? Was one rule harder than the others?
Unfortunately, my low spend year was derailed because of being forced to move locations. I'm still monitoring my spending but I had so many unexpected expenses related to that move. I'll try again next year.
Lavender is your colour! 💜 I though you might need this too!😉🌂 Great video, love your honesty. You have taught me so much about Tiny House Living. Praying for some sunny days for you.🌞
Happy birthday Sophie… the last question was certainly a doozy. Thank you for answering all the questions. Opening up one’s life to the masses is a daunting challenge. With that being said you have so graciously welcomed us into your life and home. Your personality drawls us in like we have been the closest friends.
Great video, as always. Happy Birthday Sophie, hope you get a little "treat" today. Having been divorced young and remarried for 33 years, I learned that it's ok to be alone, and it's certainly much better than living with someone who isn't a good match. My hubby and I live in a 960 square foot house and are retired, and we have learned the ways to make that work. Your little place looks like a slice of heaven.
Okay, I realize it's bad form to ask a lady her age; but how old is your Sophie today? Maybe its just me, but she seems very content living in the new location.😊
She turned 15. Yes, she loves it here. I think because her house is always the same, just the views change, moving isn't as traumatic as it could otherwise be for her.
Happy Happy Birthday Sophie 🐈! No house whether tiny, townhome or detached is a home without 4 legs and a tail 🐈🐕. I have 2 dogs. Thanks for sharing some insights into your thoughts a world ❤
Happy Birthday to Mrs. Sophie ❤️ My dad always said to “marry up” (emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and yes, monetarily - being financially sound is important in a mate). It’s some of the best advice I ever received from him and it holds true. I’m like you, content being alone but if someone wants to be part of my life, it’s a huge task he is undertaking but well worth it if it’s meant to be.
Ha! I was one of those that asked about whether you’d remarry ..I feel the same after being divorced almost 20 yrs now myself ..if the right man comes along, then it will fall into place naturally and I’m open to remarrying ..otherwise I love my solitude as I have evolved into an introvert ..win win, girl!!
@loriurban1070 divorced 10 years now. I’m very comfortable in my own space & as a introvert. If a relationship could come into my life I’ll know if it’s right.
Having a small log home is my dream, too. I know you will get there and am excited to see that future journey. Less is more. Less is freedom. Happy Birthday Sophie!🐱
My question to you, why don't you prefer to have neighbors close to you? what if you have an emergency and you may need someone's help? example, you take a fall or you get sick and can't go grocery shopping or pick up your prescriptions. How far are you from a hospital? I never understood stood how people could live out in the middle of nowhere. Doesn't it get lonely? are you scared sometimes being by yourself in the woods? I'm just curious that's all because I'm a people person. Not throwing any shade how do you your family and friends come to visit you out in the middle of nowhere.
Hi, no worries, it's a valid question. I'm not worried at all about being 'in the middle of nowhere' as you say. I'm pretty good at taking care of myself and find the human animal much more frightening than 'wild' animals. Living in the North West Territories gave me an appreciate and skills for taking care of myself. I think if you asked most introverts they'd probably say that they are prefectly happy being alone and they don't find it lonely at all. I can always drive to town and call for help if I need it. But I get that an extrovert would find that challenging because they get energized by being around people where we introverts get drained by it. It's not that we're antisocial at all. We just need much less socialization. I hope that makes sense.
Happy Birthday to Sophie!! I loved your answer to the last question. I feel the exact same way and I'm very content for now. I'm not about having a partner just for the sake of having one.
Happy Birthday sweet Sophie. Sending a virtual big hug to you. Adelina, I love your twinkle lights, how did you fasten them up there. They look great and are beautiful.
Good morning, Spirit Animal! I know how you feel about moving away and missing your tribe. I moved 200 miles from the area that I lived for 40 years. I thought the distance wouldn't be that big of a deal but I do feel very lonely here. Especially since I work from home and I now care for my elderly mother. I don't get out in order to make friends and my neighbors are not close.
First thing I want to tell you. Is I like your boots. I think you would agree with me. That you would rather have nice neighbors than,a nasty guy. That you would have to deal with.🤮💜😊 . I hope you give Sophie something special to eat for her birthday 🎉🎂. One year I gave my cat turkey cat food for thanksgiving. In my opinion it is nice to have someone around to do the heavy lifting. And to talk to, but it is also nice to be able to say look what I did.😊 . I had a boss who said that I shouldn't use my hands as much or at all, when I talk. She also said I was to nice. I think when you deal with people, especially little kids. You get farther when you are more positive. Most of the time. Will I listen to her on these two things. 🤪🤣🤣
I got this reply again. But I have an idea for you. I was watching another u tuber , and she is going over other peoples grocery trips to the store. And telling people how to save money. Since I don't live in Canada and this lady did, she lives in Toronto. I'm always curious what other places are like. How you save money. Like using gas instead of electric or whatever.
Interesting video and I keep thinking Sophie is going to swat that cup playfully right out of your hand 😅 I also wonder sometimes if she thinks you are talking to her and comes around to converse with you. My cat Lily comes running as soon as I sit down especially if I’m face timing or chatting on my phone. I sorta thought that was going to be the topic of the last question Lol. Great answer and exactly my thoughts as well. 😉 Thanks for showing how cosy your tiny home is . I know you have made a similar video in the past but todays angle looked pretty awesome. I love the lights and the upstairs bedroom.
I think she wants to get in on the conversation because she always comes over when I start filming. She know's that the viewers really tune in to see her ❤️🐈☺️.
Oh, Adelina... you became a single Mom of two small children, reinvented yourself, went back to college and got an advance degree, developed a successful career, became a homeowner, raised two children alone, realized your dream of going tiny, moved to your dream destination, are financially independent. BUT... what about a man???🤣🤣🤣
Great answers Adelina - as you know I’m Portuguese too and yeah I talk with my hands 😂 and am very expressive but it’s a normal thing for being Portuguese- enjoy your week - sending love from Sydney Australia ❤
I always love your Q&As and hope Sophie had a Happy Birthday!❤️🎂🐱Would love to do a little road trip with you next year, because as you said, it’s so beautiful in BC and there is so much yet to explore! Love & hugs Adelina. 🚐🇨🇦❤️
I sure to wonder why people does a lot to drink a cup of coffee...I just heat up some water put in a spoon full of nescafe powder and condense milk and I am good to go
Really enjoyed this this vlog … and love your rain boots 🥾! And your lights everywhere are so inviting! Happy Birthday Sophie! Many Blessed … 🌈🌈🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Happy Birthday precious Sophie ... Adelina i love the ending you are just so cute almost blushing ... when talking about a partner. I got my forever mate and then he passed in 2021 ... blessed to be now living with my elderly Mum and taking care of her. Love the north OK Valley but YES the grey winter days are hard to deal with at times. Thanks for sharing more of yourself. Hugs to you both. =)
is true that does not matter the size of the house because the problems that come from the cold moths affecting the outside are the same, here in Finland will be only different if you live in the city and in an apartment building because normally some of the jobs like removing the snow or taking care of pipes is done by a contractor, Here we go to bed always checking the weather forecast of the night, like that you prepare yourself for the following morning, snowing here already, :(
I totally know that feeling. Used to do that every night when we were in Alberta. Here I check to see if it's going to be raining but it doesn't require doing any preparations for the morning like the snow did.
I'm not sure if this link will work but this is the one I purchased. There are lots to choose from. I went with one that was small and well reviewed. amzn.to/46684Ev
Happy Birthday Sweet Sophie 🎂🎁🥳🎉🐈Thank you for answering a few questions that I thought about asking but I felt they were too personal to ask..I hope you have an easier work week. Take care. ❤️🐈💐
Hi Adelina and Sophie! Thank you so much for answering my hygge question. I LOVE your fairy lights! They are a real essential in autumn and winter. I hope you are both well and having a great week. 😊
Very Happy Birthday to the cutie Sophie!!! 🎉🥳 You might already know this, but maybe you can take out food when you run your errands? I know that is not when you are wanting some take out, but at least that will give you a break from eating your own cooking all the time.
Nice to hear the answers to the questions. Very interesting questions from several people. I never think of asking any questions because I just enjoy watching your videos and being a small part of your life.
Happy, Happy Birthday Dear Sweet Sophie!🥳We all adore you sweet girl; thank you for being such a great companion to our lovely Adelina. Where do we post more Q & A questions, Adelina? Here in the comments or elsewhere? I'd like to know how old Sophie is. If you already mentioned it, I missed it. I see you finding the perfect man for you. I know you're satisfied with your life, but you remind me of a good friend of mine who met the love of her life at about your age. They're still very happy; each had two older children & they formed a wonderful blended family. All I can say is if/when you find just the right mate, he will definitely be lucking out, & I know it'll go both ways bc you are too wise to settle for less than you deserve or match up w/someone who perhaps you're not right for. I know you deserve the Best. Absolutely.🫠 Sending lots of love.🙌🏼🫶🏼✌🏼
Always enjoy your videos. Your open and honest presentations and can do attitude are what I truly enjoy…plus your cooking videos as I’m trying to eat more vegan! I too have a 15-year-old cat named Ms. Maple who has proven the adage that dogs have owners, cats have staff. Take care.
:) WELL DONE, and Happy Birthday to Sophie! You answered all questions very well and handled the Doozy with UTMOST Class :) ALL the BEST and Cheers! ! :)
Adelina when you mentioned,"What about a man?!!" the birthday girl,Sophie, got up and jumped off the couch!! You deserve to have a lovely partner in your life to share your marvelous journey! ❤. You must have horseshoes in your pocket because you have ended up in one of the nicest spots on the island! Miracle Beach,Saratoga Beach,Quadra Island to name a few of the loviest areas in your vicinity!😊 Comox is only twenty minutes away with great restaurants and walks-the Spit etc. Best of the west! Cheers,Sandy&Andy
Sophie, Happy B'Day sweet little girl. All living arrangement changes can take adjustments, period. I am glad you are adapting to your new climate. Sounds all pretty positive. Most of us who are currently single feel much as you do, I think, about partners. Sure, if it's right but no reason to bring a not-so-good fit into it just to have someone. Not needed or wanted. I am glad to hear that you invested in a S.A.D. light.
Great questions and answers. I like that you still have your goal to own property and use your tiny house as a guest house or rental. Thanks. Happy Birthday Sophie.
Have you thought of putting Sophie on a harness and letting her outside? Because there are no coyotes or skunks on the Island, I am looking forward to moving there in the next couple of years and be able to let my kitty out and not really worry about it. 🤗. Happy birthday sweet Sophie.🎉
Happy Birthday Sophie! A cat curled up on the sofa makes a house very cozy and also great at helping to keep the stress levels down. I'm bottle feeding a newborn rescue kitten around the clock and will probably adopt him. Your Sophie looks so content. Interesting video as always Adelina. ❤🎉
As always, I love that you demonstrate and live spending within your means. Many times unexpected expenses preclude fun plans. Many (me a long time ago) put things on credit for immediate need gratification. You are diligent at making your plans and dreams come true while being wise financially!! Thank you for modeling that! Love the rain boots and happy birthday dear Sophie!! Hugs!
Glad Sophie was happy and doing well on her birthday. Thanks for sharing the questions and answers. You could have taken us shopping and that would have been great too. Glad that you are doing well! Take care and i hope you have a great week 🥰
Where did you buy your pretty comforter on your bed? Since your on an island did you consider getting houseboat? Or putting your tiny home on a dock slip?
Hello! I was surprised to see you doing your laundry at the on-site laundry station. I could have sworn your tiny house had a stackable washer and dryer no? Great video, very interesting as always
Well said. Thanks for sharing your experiences my friend ☺️.

Seasonal depression is real. I live outside Seattle and have it. Being outside and feeling the weather helps.

I use instant when I'm camping. I like the process of making coffee and prefer the taste this way but instant is fine too 😊.
Really enjoyed this this vlog … and love your rain boots 🥾! And your lights everywhere are so inviting! Happy Birthday Sophie!
Many Blessed … 🌈🌈🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks so much! 😊
❤
Happy Birthday precious Sophie ... Adelina i love the ending you are just so cute almost blushing ... when talking about a partner. I got my forever mate and then he passed in 2021 ... blessed to be now living with my elderly Mum and taking care of her. Love the north OK Valley but YES the grey winter days are hard to deal with at times. Thanks for sharing more of yourself. Hugs to you both. =)
😊 thank you. Take care.
lol I thought you alluded to having a special person in Calgary.
is true that does not matter the size of the house because the problems that come from the cold moths affecting the outside are the same, here in Finland will be only different if you live in the city and in an apartment building because normally some of the jobs like removing the snow or taking care of pipes is done by a contractor, Here we go to bed always checking the weather forecast of the night, like that you prepare yourself for the following morning, snowing here already, :(
I totally know that feeling. Used to do that every night when we were in Alberta. Here I check to see if it's going to be raining but it doesn't require doing any preparations for the morning like the snow did.
What kind of S.A.D. lamp did you get? I want to buy one but not sure what kind.
I'm not sure if this link will work but this is the one I purchased. There are lots to choose from. I went with one that was small and well reviewed. amzn.to/46684Ev
Thank you
Happy Birthday Sweet Sophie 🎂🎁🥳🎉🐈Thank you for answering a few questions that I thought about asking but I felt they were too personal to ask..I hope you have an easier work week. Take care. ❤️🐈💐
You are so welcome!
And here I thought that 'true love' would throw 'requirements' out the window...........
I laughed at the way Miss Sophie left as soon as you started answering “what about a man?”😂. I guess that’s her answer. Love your videos!
LOL! She'll always be spoiled 😊❤️🐈.
Sophie will not agree to a man in the tiny house! Your life is perfect I cant see how a man could make it better....just sayin
At one point your cat's looking at you like... 'she does this all the time, who's she talking to?' :)
LOL 😂
Hi Adelina and Sophie! Thank you so much for answering my hygge question. I LOVE your fairy lights! They are a real essential in autumn and winter. I hope you are both well and having a great week. 😊
Thanks for asking the question! 😊
Sophie looks like she's saying " Who are you talking to?" LOL ❤
She's probably saying 'why aren't you talking to me?', LOL.
Very Happy Birthday to the cutie Sophie!!! 🎉🥳 You might already know this, but maybe you can take out food when you run your errands? I know that is not when you are wanting some take out, but at least that will give you a break from eating your own cooking all the time.
lol "Well here's the thing". Enjoy what you have you are doing great. Thanks.
Thanks, will do!
Awesome answer to the last question!
Nice to hear the answers to the questions. Very interesting questions from several people. I never think of asking any questions because I just enjoy watching your videos and being a small part of your life.
Thank you 😊.
It's so great, to hear that you are very pleased with where you are. Sounds lovely. Thumbs up and love from S. California.
Thank you 😊.
Absolutely.🫠
Sending lots of love.🙌🏼🫶🏼✌🏼
Awwww, thank you! Sophie turned 17 I think. I've got to look at her adoption papers to confirm. She's a sweet little buddy.
Happy birthday dear Sofie, you beautiful little girl.🎉❤💋🧜♂️🧶💐
🐈❤️😊
Always enjoy your videos. Your open and honest presentations and can do attitude are what I truly enjoy…plus your cooking videos as I’m trying to eat more vegan! I too have a 15-year-old cat named Ms. Maple who has proven the adage that dogs have owners, cats have staff. Take care.
Exactly!!! I always say that. But we love their bossy little butts all the same 🐈❤️.
:) WELL DONE, and Happy Birthday to Sophie! You answered all questions very well and handled the Doozy with UTMOST Class :) ALL the BEST and Cheers! ! :)
LOL, thanks Marty 😜.
Adelina when you mentioned,"What about a man?!!"
the birthday girl,Sophie, got up and jumped off the
couch!! You deserve to have a lovely partner in your
life to share your marvelous journey! ❤. You must
have horseshoes in your pocket because you have
ended up in one of the nicest spots on the island!
Miracle Beach,Saratoga Beach,Quadra Island to name
a few of the loviest areas in your vicinity!😊 Comox
is only twenty minutes away with great restaurants
and walks-the Spit etc. Best of the west!
Cheers,Sandy&Andy
Thanks guys! 😁❤️
Happy Birthday Sophie! Hope it's purrfect.
😁🐈❤️
Your response to the last question was very well said! Cheers from Calgary🇨🇦
😜🤷🏻♀️❤️
Sophie, Happy B'Day sweet little girl. All living arrangement changes can take adjustments, period. I am glad you are adapting to your new climate. Sounds all pretty positive. Most of us who are currently single feel much as you do, I think, about partners. Sure, if it's right but no reason to bring a not-so-good fit into it just to have someone. Not needed or wanted. I am glad to hear that you invested in a S.A.D. light.
I totally agree Ginny 😊.
Great questions and answers. I like that you still have your goal to own property and use your tiny house as a guest house or rental. Thanks. Happy Birthday Sophie.
Thanks! 🐈😊
Happy birthday 🎉 Sophie!! Hope you got lots of treats 😻😽
Of course! 🐈😁❤️
Have you thought of putting Sophie on a harness and letting her outside? Because there are no coyotes or skunks on the Island, I am looking forward to moving there in the next couple of years and be able to let my kitty out and not really worry about it. 🤗. Happy birthday sweet Sophie.🎉
I have put her on a harness outside, she spends the whole time trying to get back inside, LOL.
I enjoyed this video. Thank you for sharing answers with us. Sophie is so darn cute. Take care 😊❤️
Thanks Michelle. I agree! 🐈❤️
What a great video. I so enjoy spending time with you!
Thanks 😊
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ YESSSSSSSSS
Happy Birthday Sophie!
A cat curled up on the sofa makes a house very cozy and also great at helping to keep the stress levels down. I'm bottle feeding a newborn rescue
kitten around the clock and will probably adopt him. Your Sophie
looks so content. Interesting video as always Adelina. ❤🎉
Bless you for taking care of the kitten. Our companion animals rescue is too. ❤️🐈😊
Just need to commend u on a wonderful Q&A . Keep up your awesome work! ❤
Thank you!! ❤️😊
I'm going to need a coffee for this one be right back lol
LOL! 😂
Hugs!
Thanks. I"m certainly not perfect but I've gotten much wiser with age....as we all do 😊.
🙂

Hello! I was surprised to see you doing your laundry at the on-site laundry station. I could have sworn your tiny house had a stackable washer and dryer no? Great video, very interesting as always
Hi. I have a washer/dryer combo unit but it's not really good for big loads like sheets. Since the park has laundry and it's cheap do it there.
