I was there right after Covid hit. We were able to go up to the third floor but couldn't go inside. But they did have the log book outside so I was able to sign my name. Headed back to Seattle this coming August so hopefully, this time I will be able to go inside and do that phone cache.
I was there for the 2014 Block Party but that was before I started vlogging. The Kid and I went there in 2015 for the Block party and that was actually our first episode Geocaching with Komikino and The Kid. Even though we were there for the event, we didn't go inside. We didn't go inside GCHQ until last year. The video for that will be up in a few weeks.
I couldn't geek out as much as I wanted to either because the tours they were giving were only 25 mins long. Lots to do in a short amount of time, including making this video. It was good to be there, though!
Nice video and I'm glad you got to visit! I first went to Fremont during the 2013 Block Party (I was out there for work at the same time as the event) and HQ wasn't open that day, the treasure chest was outside and the phone cache was where it was supposed to be across the street. I wound up traveling a few times to Seattle for work afterward and so I got to take the "tour" (of the room 🙂). My Travel Bug's Life trackable is in HQ in the office of the current person running GIFF! Thank you for sharing.
You know what... I just had a theory: They have registration so they know who's coming to HQ for a visit... and yet every time, it seems like someone sees a photo on the screen either of their own or a friend. I feel like they may filter the recent photos that show up based on who's visiting HQ that day! I could TOTALLY see that strategy! :D
I don't think it's timed for when people are in the lobby, that would be way too much work :D Just a strange coincidence that somehow, assuming worldwide logs, there always seems to be a photo recognized by someone who's visiting.... hmmmmm.... hehe
It has the entire 3rd floor of that building, as far as I could tell. But yeah, it shares the building with several other businesses. I hope you get the opportunity to visit some day.
Thanks for dropping by, it was great to meet you!
That was awesome! And to see your face there! Very cool! Definitely will visit next time I visit the PNW!
Our first visit to the Geocaching HQ was in 2017. Did the Geotour and went to tjhe APE event 2017.
Always a great time!

You sure covered a plethora of Bucket List activities on your big trip to the Pacific Northwest. Cache on, dude. 🦀

Been there but with my muggle sis so I couldn't geek out as much and stay longer. Still happy to finally make it though!

Looks like an awesome time.
It was! I hope you can go there some day.

Huh.... those sneaky little rats! 😄 Wouldn't that be something...
We didn't see pictures of ourselves when we were there though. :(

@@halemeister I like to think they just love your channel!
Well there you go. I thought Geocaching HQ was in its own independent building. The things you learn.

NO but can i log it by watching the video
😄
I've never been. Maybe one of these days. That's your claim to fame. You have your face on the screen at HQ!!
