We got rid of our microwave and recently purchased a Turbo Oven. I am on a quest to discover what I can bake in them. Your videos have been so helpful and so much fun! You make me giggle and I feel like you could be a great pal! Keep it up and keep it real! Thanks so much. I'm a Fan!
Gayle Dun That is great to hear, Gayle. I don't think I could do it "seriously". The kid in me loves to play with it :)
Hello! Thank you so much for sharing your experiments! I will say this. In all of my research of halogen ovens, the cooking is done by the halogen light of course, but also through the air circulation. You might try this one again but with the cake in a regular (short sided) cake tin to allow more air . Also, anything that can go in a regular oven can also be used in a halogen, like putting the single cupcake paper in another cake or pie pan to hold then upright. I'm a new owner of a VonShef Halogen Oven and from everything I've read, the biggest majority of long time owners wouldn't give them up for anything! Thank you again, Ms. Sal. I'll continue to look for your videos and will subscribe.,
Are you still using yours?
Thank you so much just got mine.. It's amazing will try banking and see how it goes..
I was surprised
Thanks for making the videos, I've just bought a Halogen Oven and I'm searching for lots of tips and recipes to help me understand what works etc.,
Glad it helped a little.
I was reading a recipe from a chef and he put a cup and a half of water in the bottom of the oven while he baked a cake on the grid. Perhaps that adds some bottom heat and keeps the cake moist.
+Hannelore Rack Interesting, obviously I need to do some more research on the angel food cooking skills. Can't be that diffidcult. I think I will try it in a regular oven and see if I can perfect it there first. Or try it in cupcake form. That would be fun :)
Thanks so much it help a lot
Glad it helped
thank you for the video and letting us see how things cook in this kind of oven
it is fun to watch them, isn't it? Did you see the Yorkshire Puddings?!
Silicone bakeware cupcake pan should do the trick.. I have the perfect one too.. thank you for posting.. I had been wondering if It could be done.. ..but what about in a bunt cake pan? Think it would work? Does the food need to be elevated?
You are so welcome!
Sal, thanks for this. I've never heard of this type of oven, although I'm not much of a cook and don't put a lot of effort into it. I know I'm strange, but I like the oops videos much more than the ones that go so smoothly! Rosie from Raymore
Rose Broadway sounds to be as though you are a very practical person who likes to deal in reality! I have great joy leaving in the ooopsies. As in all my vlogging, I promised myself I would be as honest and straight as I could afford to be. I wanted to be a "real" person who vloggs, not the perfect person. So it is a delight when people enjoy that part. Thank you
Try putting your paper cupcake cases in a single or six cake silicon case.
+Madeleine Love good idea :)
Just got this oven thank you for the tips 👍
I love mine!
The over flow of the cup cake's batter, was because you did over fill it. The best practice is to fill it either half or three quoters (3/4) way.
Thank you.
Yes I like YOUR videos.
Thank you :)
I looked at your other video but I never eat gravy on things. Usually only on potatoes or meat. It is sweet of you to respond so quickly and I will be checking out your other videos.
glad to have you as a viewer. Was away yesterday so that is why the reply is "late" :)
Oh yum.. brownies and custard. I was fascinated watching those cupcakes rise!! As I was watching them go I thought.. they look like Yorkshire puddings, just as you said.. I wonder how yorkshires would do in there haha :)
MsSophiielou Great minds think alike, Sophie :)
You are a Brit like me so you have probably heard of this but just in case....When I was a lad we had roast beef every Sunday because Chicken was the luxury food then and cost quite a lot. Of course we had lovely Yorkshire pudding with it but, once the main course was done, mother would put some strawberry jam with a little dob of cream on the rest of the Yorkshire pudding and we would devour it. It was lovely. If you have not tried it, keep it a go.
+InTheNameOfJustice Yes, it also is strange how few people in North America eat lamb. I seem to remember that lamb was another meat that we ate a lot. Strange isn't it. I paid close to $60.00 recently for a leg of lamb here. Yikes.
+DearMamaSal I love lamb. It is a wonderful meat. Regarding the Yorkshire pud and jam, our Yorkshire was not the individual types made today but a large slab done in a baking tray.
+InTheNameOfJustice I don't know if you saw the Toad in the Hole video where I actually did a Yorkshire Pudding in a bundt pan. I have people who come for the Yorkshire, in my house. There are times I think that if I served the Yorkshire and gravy it would enough. Next would come the roast potatoes and then the beef!!! Added together I don't have many left-overs. :)
DearMamaSal
No. Just found your great page and subbed. I am working my way though your videos right now. Great job by the way. Thank you.
+InTheNameOfJustice glad you like my experiments!! :)
what kind of cups did you use for your cupcakes?
They were regular paper ones
Thank You for the info. should i use thick ones or just ordinary ones?
@@skylarcollincano9990 I think I used the regular ones.

Yes, it works the same as a convection oven but faster
When you have heat blowing on your head.....you run and your cupcakes are doing that....
Thank you for the input

+Misty Beebe There are so many excellent cooks on UA-cam and I know I am not one of them!! I like to experiment with food. :)
Right there with you. You know with all the junk going on with life and people talking about the end of society as we know it. Overseas with Russia and people saying Jesus is coming. I've been completely beyond stressed out. Thank you for making my day better. And I am buying one of these cookers. They have them on Sale for $35.00 at Aldis in Texas. So I'm going to get one. Do you still use yours...
+Misty Beebe almost every day. I love how it can cook from frozen and it is so easy to use and clean.
6:13 mmm no, You didn't fill them 3/4, I saw them you filled like 7/8...
thank you
