- I grew up in New Hampshire and now I live out in California and I have many fond memories of this song. Unless I am mistaken this may also be the State Anthem for New Hampshire as well. Anytime I hear this song I get a little bit misty and homesick. Can you blame me?
I am from North Conway...and we all grew up with these boys.....we are very proud of them...

Growing up in New Hampshire I always wanted to get out, I had no idea how cool it was that the forests are natural and untouched and that I lived 20 minutes from the ocean, an hour from the mountains and 45min from Boston. I got out and discovered that there arent too many places quite as great and I fight every day to get back.
This was my moms most favorite song. We moved a lot when I was a child but NH is where she loved. We played this at her funeral..at her request. Thinking about her and miss her so much. 57 is way too young to die.😢😞
i am actually from texas but i go to camp in new hampshire and i have fallen in love with that state. the shaw brothers came to the camp that i go to and i love this song. it takes me back to my favorite place in the world

We listened to this when I was in 4th grade in the early 1990s. I always remembered the NH Naturally line and would sing it when crossing the state line (in jest of course). It was great to finally here the song again.
Certain songs and particular singers can stay with you after much time has passed. I have know Rick and Ron for over 50 years. They are friends, yes. But, the music! Whew! It stays with you for a lifetime. Fantastic indeed.
I lived there from 1985 thru end of 1990. Goffstown and Milford, worked at Edgcomb Metals in Nashua, wife at Data General in Manchester then Hookset. We returned to our native PA in 1990 with mixed feelings...going home but leaving our adopted home and many good friends. A truly beautiful place to live, but just too expensive. LOL on the morning wake up to this song on WMUR because I used to love listening to it on the PBS station at sign off early in morning on weekends (night owl)

I live in Florida but I was born in Rochester and grew up in Fremont. I love N.H. but I left because of the hard cold winters. I trucked fer years across this country. the only thing was the cold winters were like two weeks at a time then I would be back where it was warm again. I am thinking of moving back up there. I really miss the beauty and clean fresh air.
I also grew up in NH and have fond memories of both the state and this song.

With summer coming, just hoping to catch them again in an outdoor setting. I vote for this song to become out state song!
I live in South Carolina but I'm from Portsmouth, NH. I miss the beauty of the bridges and everything else, but I don't miss the harsh winters.

There are only two places I've ever been where I instantly thought, "I could live here forever." One is Maui, the other is New Hampshire. Now I live in NH. :)

I can't say if it's the state song or not,but for years WMUR Channel 9 used it to sign on/off their programming day. I was born and raised here...60+ years now and I agree,whenever I hear it,I get a bit emotional.....Actually almost everything these home grown twins perform just remind me so much of my life in the best State in the Union...in my estimation anyway.
Take it from a native: You know what's great about New Hampshire? It's like a sample platter of America. You have the ocean, mountains, lakes, forests, a city (sort of), but still, people are kind and no, New Hampshire is not just a big suburb of Boston!
The official state song is "Old New Hampshire". Then there are 8 additional honorary state songs, of which "New Hampshire, Naturally" is the most recent addition.
I still miss it back there but I don't miss the cold winters and the snow. The sacrifice I make to not freeze my tail off in the winter.
For the curious, this is one of New Hampshire's "honorary" state songs. The official one is "Old New Hampshire".
The Old Granite State, makes me home sick.
Its not the state song - but I remember when this came out in the 80s. My mom worked for the Dept of Tourism and I think they used this song.
Well. The state Anthem is Old New Hampshire. But still an amazing New Hampshirite song.
