    Bought an r53 project during the week, searched r53 project on here and found your channel. Grear work, subbed and will work through your vids... 😎👍

    22:44 what temperature did you heat the sproket? (Also, where did you find the instructions to heat the sproket?)

    • @olliesgarage
      @olliesgarage  22 дні тому

      @@KurtisSaiyo put it in the oven as high as possible. No instructions, but if you heat it, it will expand very slightly, so will make it slide on slightly easier. Same theory works for something metal being inserted, but instead you freeze it to shrink it slightly

      @@olliesgarage thanks for the reply! Great walk-through by the way. Were you concerned about annealing or otherwise altering any heat treatment?

    Have you checked the bypass valve (located near throttle body under the right hand supercharger horn, these cause running issues when the spring goes bad but you won't get a direct code out of it, on the come down in revs thay tend to bounce open and closed and if they fail they stay open directing most of the air the wring way

    I would also suggest doing Maintenance on ur Supercharger.
    Is there any codes when you were idling??
    How long was this Mini sitting b4 you bought it??

    • @olliesgarage
      @olliesgarage  Рік тому

      Supercharger is serviced and all gaskets changed in the next video. No codes come up which is annoying as it doesn’t help finding the source of the problem. Don’t know how long it’s been sat for as I bought it through an auction

      Bit late on this, I got an r53 back and "running" which was sat for 2 years
      Looking to do all servicing myself, any tips on things to look out for?

    that vaccum line to the inlet manifold will keep falling off, you will need to zip tie it or use a small hose clamp to secure it.

    If what my son Richard has told me about your mini and you suggested it runs lumpy I should think your cat is blocked if your lucky and careful you might be able to remove and flush out but don't forget to check the O2 sensors for lumpy running is it over fueling maybe ?
