That cobra 148gtl is a good radio. You can have it tuned, and find a new mic for it. I am surprise it still has some kick to it after being in the attic.
Started out with an old 23 channel cb in 1976 and am now a General ham with a variety of new and old HF, 2 meter, a 220 and 70cm Transceivers, a couple scanners, and a couple world band receivers set up in my shack, but, I also have my two Galaxy DX959's set up as well. One with a Imax 2000 and the other with a wire antenna. Just wouldn't be a complete Ham shack/Man cave without em.
Hello, you are a very nice and good friend, very comfortable listening to you good radio communicator and of course, I was very pleased to meet you and thank you very much
I have a 148 GTL from the mid 1970s that has never been used, still in the box. I've had it in my storage and forgot about it. I'm going to install it in my new Ford F-150.
Thanks! I'm in Tolland county. I'm very familiar with the MTARA/Hampden county club. I'm also on the 147.105 repeater occasionally and know most of those guys.
I have a Phillipines 1991 Cobra 148 GTL. Im looking to wire into my car. Needs power and mono wire for speaker. I also want to try antenna. Any recommendations for a decent price and also good quality
I would like to know what you considered a radio like that worth I understand maybe correctly that it was the top of the line cobra in this day cuz I don't know how old they are actually just bought one and haven't tried it yet
I have ones I had a bad coax end at the antenna it was getting water in it and i did not know it. now i have a new cobra . it has a warning that tells you have bad sw r's I think I burned the finals on the radio
I wouldn't worry about that microphone that comes with that radio those microphones are junk I would throw away that microphone and get a nice d-104 handheld microphone and you will be in business 👍
Chris, find Matt, from the radiogarage on u-tube. He does repairs, alignments and is very good. He has a back log right now, but will soon be taking more radios in. Check him out.
Ahhh I remember my CB days back in the late 80's early 90's. I had a modified 29 LTD and a 148 GTL with a D104 mic and the Antron 99 up on the roof.
