I think out of all of the videos you've made this one made me laugh the most. Especially "I'm from the future" and "I can't tell which way is forward", and just the general amazing patheticness of pumpkinbot. Thanks so much for making this it was great.
The COWARDICE! Chomp bot clearly used some form of cheating. Look at pumpkin bot all like "Look comp can we be friends" and chomp was all like nah you a pumpkin and shot flames at him! HOW RUDE! Then when chomp was like "Yo bring it in im sorry hug meh" Pumpkin bot was like "yes finally senpai noticed me!" came close and BAM right in the stem. Plus that late hit should have completely disqualified chomp so no not just in our hearts did pumpkin bot win but within the rules as well!
I love rewatching your older videos to see how over time your channel went from actual tutorials to mostly shenanigans. Don't ever stop what you do you beautiful creature
woa you used marbles as ball bearings too. I have a list of cheap-round-things that might work as bearings and marbles are one of them :D. Other interesting things on the list are: BB ammo, round wooden beads, ping pong balls, golf training balls, ball-pit balls, polystyrene craft balls, and unshelled macadamia nuts.
@@agustinvenegas5238 some are squishy yea, but nah i mean the ones that are hard plastic shells full of holes. Also it's crazy you replied to this just now, i'd wrote the original post 3 years ago - but just yesterday i'd been thinking about it again! (UA-cam had recommended me the video *"3D Printed Bearings - Are These Real Things?"* a few days ago, i wonder if it recommended it to you too, might be the common factor). Also, I wonder if the suggestion of round wooden beads ultimately inspired William's *"All Wood Bike"* video :P
William Osman I think it did okay but got some pretty bad matchups and had some bad luck with getting flipped on it's side, overall tho still probably one of the coolest ideas for a battlebot with the hammer knowing exactly when to swing
I'd love to see a huge robot competition with lots of badass robots, where pumpkinbot is the maskot and spins around in the middle of the arena while the other battle bots are getting ready to fight
Hey Will! I am a Civil Engineering Major at Georgia Southern University and I am also a beginning skater/longboarder. It would be awesome to have one to ride around campus to showcase how great Engineering is! Please upvote for Engineering/Science!
See if you your school's machine shop will help you! It could be done on a CNC router if they don't have a laser. Or look for a local maker/hackerspace. I put the cut files in the description.
The hammer is reset with electric motors. Air can be used to reset the hammer if the robot is on its side and you're ok with it swinging around like a jump rope.
Computer Aided Design design. That just killed me. I always think about things like that when I'm at work. Everyday I hear VIN number and I just think Vehicle Identification Number number.
Wow, watching this for the first time after watching William's more recent stuff, I feel like he could have actually been a serious UA-cam Maker, but went pure chaos instead. I think he made the right choice.
Am I the only one that thinks the laser is literally the coolest thing ever? I've never heard of someone actually owning a laser to build stuff, but I find it so cool 😂😂
I would love to win your fully assembled skateboard!! :D I saw it on Braille Skateboarding and instantly fell in love with how it was made, how it looks, and definitely how sturdy it is.
I like the fact that this took like 10x more time and probably more money than Moist Pony ROFL your many battlebots are truly legendary, excellent work all around
Looking at people that youtubers get on their videos and it looks like they don’t even wanna be there. But this woman actually looks like she’s having fun and enjoying it
Loving this channel, first saw it from the 3D printed board. It would be a dream to have the unassembled one as I live on the ass of the world (New Zealand).
Ok so everyone knows Will's first couple vids were more serious monotone will, but I love the bits here and there where you can still see that part of will juxtaposed with new will
Dude, I would love the un-assembled board, I could see how I could stick it together, see if I could use the info from yours and braille's videos to make it hold up longer than theirs did. That'd be rad.
I love this channel. Super under-rated content. Assembled board would be awesome, it would force me to actually learn how to skate lmao. I'd definitely glue it though.
Holy shit that was fucking insane!! The moment it released that power I just gaped for a whole minute! Did it leave marks on the floor?? Obv I'm talking about pumpkin bot
Pretty cool usage of a laser cutter! Seems to be more versatile than a 3-D printer in many applications....outside of combat robots. It'd be cool to check out an assembled skateboard!
Definitely going to check out your other videos. This one was great! You inspired me to start a hardware project (I have a purely cs background). Also, unassembled skateboard for sure!
Chomp may have won the competition, but pumpkinbot won our hearts
Did you watch the video? Pumpkinbot obviously won.
Spoilers
Rodrigo Terré spoilers jeez
For all the British robot wars fans, Pumpkinbot is our Nuts
Ngl this is the best thing uve made-2019
why not carve a face in the pumpkin to reduce the weight?
Simon Andersson great idea I think unbalanced but still great idea
Christian Wang Just cut one face on each side
Davy Vidal yea that would work
It's somehow cuter w/o the face tho
Simon Andersson because then it would be unbalanced
I think out of all of the videos you've made this one made me laugh the most. Especially "I'm from the future" and "I can't tell which way is forward", and just the general amazing patheticness of pumpkinbot. Thanks so much for making this it was great.
I feel so loved
How dare you! Pumpkinbot tried his best.

Thanks for that lovely commentary
before watching the video, I predict it is an 8 lb pumpkin filled with 17 lbs of plastic explosive
Noah Nies You were right about the pumpkin and the total weight
A martyr pumpkin bot? Allahu akbar..
That would do quite well at leveling a warehouse. That would be cool.
Well explosives arent allowed in the battlebox or any robot cometition so hes just obeying the rules really
@@datguy8805 are there any rules that say you can’t put a glock in your robot
This video is nice but coming to it after watching the new ones you can really see how much energy john adds to the videos just by being there
kinda disappointed pumpkin bot didnt win
Same
William Osman you should've won that easily
William Osman i wouldn't use FlameThrowers unless the bot is made out of flamable objects
kinda disappointed that I got spoiled accidentally by the first comment
SPARK Music - Random Stuff... *Exact same tjing happened to me...*
Hey, chomp didn't flip on its side this time ;^)
Thats savage.
R.I.P
It did..... 13:46
what a pathetic robot, from drivers who need to make their robot control itself, to the fact that almost every time it swings that hammer it flips
Low blow
A FUCKING FLAMETRHOWER and still pumpkin bot won
In our hearts he won :(
xMatirii wow. Thanks for spoiling
xMatirii spoilers >:(
xMatirii it’s not like the flame thrower would actually do ANYTHING. The only thing I can imagine it doing is decreasing the hardness of steel.
@@michaelc.4321 decreasing the hardness

I mean, BB literally stands for ball bearing
aren't golf training balls squishy though? making them less effective as ball bearings than regular golf balls or marbles
@@agustinvenegas5238 some are squishy yea, but nah i mean the ones that are hard plastic shells full of holes.

Chomp: 249 pounds, like 12 mph
Pumpkinbot: 25 pounds,
I love when he genuinely goes through the process instead of jumping to it already being done I feel so educated
Who watched the Battlebot series and saw CHomp get REKT
Season 1 maybe. Chomp tore it up season 2.
Yeah i think so
William Osman I think it did okay but got some pretty bad matchups and had some bad luck with getting flipped on it's side, overall tho still probably one of the coolest ideas for a battlebot with the hammer knowing exactly when to swing
William Osman other way around stupid
*Yep*
Chomp is a fucking beast holy shit
Tupac's Step Sister Pumpkin bot still beat it though
Not as good as Tombstone.
not aggressive enough to be fun to watch
You should see them now
Chomp 2020 tho, easily my fav when I saw it
I consider it a draw
"Zero to Jank in about two and half hours" :D

I love whole premise of this video: "Let's build the perfect machine to lose to a battlebot!"
Love this channel.
He should make a drill, without using a drill.
I assume you'll make a video about your laser at some point?
Admiral Percy I'm very angry at myself for not realizing this was a joke at first
did chomp change it's weapon drive mechanism? it was air powered last season but it sounded like an electric motor in the video.
The hammer is reset with electric motors. Air can be used to reset the hammer if the robot is on its side and you're ok with it swinging around like a jump rope.
Ahh, thanks. I can't wait for season 3 of BattleBots
Kevin Liang I have good news... May 10th 2018 on discovery channel.
jigglywaffles omg not long.
Yay! More content!
This is one of my new favorite channels, I was directed here from Braille s
you were the first comment
This is where you cue the first few lines from Fallout new Vegas, "when the game was rigged right from the start"
I had a day off from work today & all I've been doing is bingeing your videos & eating my weight in peanut butter. I make really good life choices.

HA! That was awesome! Love the raw maniacal genius, and the laser tech too. Your decks look very cool.
This is actually pretty impressive. I wish you had more time to do the electronics cleanly.
"how to roast pumpkin seeds" this Tag xD
I think it's super cool that Will always asks them if they have anything to promote and their sponsors and stuff
It's crazy how big the bots are, I never realize how big they are till I see someone stand next to them.

judging from how long it took to make the bot, I can already see that the battle didn't last long.
I love that you essentially built Jamie Hyneman's Blendo!
Holy crap this is a lot better than a lot of maker channels cuz you show the full engineering process. Cheers!
when the video started i was like "oh, this interesting, i guess they will be using that pumpkim as a power demostration by smashing it"
This feels so much later later Will but it's super early Will.
Calling One Direction a band is questionable at best.

Should of bought some c4 and let pumpkin bot drop it on the floor and set it off when chomp was over the c4
Christian Wang should've*. "Should of" is the least correct thing anyone could ever write.
Once again another mad man explosives aren't allowed and it would blow up the da building and you could even get arrested!
C4 would be too powerful, but there are some explosives out there that wouldn’t be a problem.
teo ql it’s a joke, of course he can’t just bring a bomb in.
Pappaperc yeah I’m commenting this after 2 years, but fuck you grammar nazi.

are you an engineer or something?
Maybe
William Osman good answer
depends on how loosely you define the term
Approximately
you're content is really good for someone that's only produced 5 videos keep up the good work my dude.
I liked that this video was more technical than the other videos you post are, i actually learned something from this video.
As pumpkin bot spins off screen "i think is chomps turn" lol
