I've known Nathan for quite a while and if anyone knows road around the middle of Taiwan it's Nathan. There are others, but Nathan has helped countless cyclists discover roads in the middle of the island. He also one of the most unpretentious cyclists you'll ever meet, putting thousands of miles on equipment most of us would shun. He proves that you don't need thousands of $$ in equipment to enjoy this wonderful sport.
When I started using strava n Taiwan 🇹🇼 too in 2015, yup he is always on the leaderboard !!! And almost every segment I rode too. He is the best ! Rode with him multiple times too.
Indeed, so many roads! I have been lucky to live in Taipei, Taoyuan, and Taichung/Nantou area - over the last 17 years, getting out almost daily - and still many many unridden/undiscovered roads on my list...
Mate, I can see you numbers sky rocekting very soon. I won't be surprised if a big sponsorship comes true soon and gives you more freedom to keep riding and producing awesome videos.
Man, that helmet - I bought it in Japan like 20 years ago! I have a few new ones, I probably should retire this one, I think it is an old Limar helmet. I have replaced the pads a few times, and as silly as the light might appear it produces a serious amount of light - zipped tied tight it fits just right in the grooves of this helmet, good enough!
@@Bicyclesidewalk yup, i remember the helmet was silly light haha, it was during the era of jan ulrich. 20 years is a long time buddy. Get a new one, they're much cheaper nowadays XD safety first the helmet will save your life when u need it.

now, that is a LOCAL LEGEND indeed!! Good stuff
He often rides on Luzhu Dakeng Road, Taoyuan. I met him a few months ago and talked to him for a while.
This man is super legend! Awesome that you had a chance to ride with him.
✨❤️✌️🙏
I saw his name quite often from Strava. It's really great to see him here and hear of his story.
Legend! ✨
If you are doing rides you should join us on the 139 road starting at the 148 in Yuanlin
That "station in the valley" is quite the treasure trove!
Saw the Strava ride, but great to hear the story behind the meet up
There are so many little roads to discover in Taiwan. A little bit of local knowledge also helps.
Agreed. This ride was lovely 😊
