Coming back to this years later, and Puncturing the Skin still manages to sound like it has little undertones of Depeche Mode's Pipeline; not ripped, but rebuilt from Reznor's own haunting chimes. Beautiful work. All these remixes are pure gold.

it doesn't matter if a remix is better than the original because without the original creation the remix would never have been created. it's the same way an invention evolves as the original is improved upon. without the original invention, the refinement of the idea would never have taken place. the refinement in no way dismisses the creativeness of the original, rather it compliments it by using it as inspiration to make it better.
