@viktore7369 yes, let's point to anomalies for how everyone should train. Also, everyone acknowledges how John would be way better if he trained armwrestling lifts.
Very good! I think over the thumb is better than through the hand because you're less prone to injury. It is easier than through the hand but you can always add a little weight.
Its a good lift but i prefer the one debon does more considering people are always trying to take your thumb and fingers in the toproll. We all know its best to get diversity in the training though.
Makes sense to me. When training with small movements like this it stands to reason that small variations in the lift will ultimately change the “benefit” of the training slightly.
only person than can be compared to goat blue bowel sir is travis baegent both a so humble even after being number 1 in the world ryan sir can defeat levan the only problem is levan is not able to make the weight for the match
I can't believe Devon so freely gives away his secretes. Everyone's gonna use his own stuff against him. I see Ermes is now employing counter-Devon tactics in his training. I bet Denis is training wrist control like a madman right now.
Omg Bowen….while attempting Devon’s lift you literally lifted the weight. with your elbow riding up your leg. That’s nowhere near as tight as Devon’s lift . But still a solid lift.
Devon was definitely not leg lifting and was not rocking his upper body back. When the elbow lifts upwards and over the knee or leg area it means you are engaging other muscles to gain that lift. Devon just put up a new clip detailing this. There is so much going on with this lift. Try it like they both do it and you will see the difference. It is huge
Devon's Form is specific and perfect. your form on the first try is more difficult but it is not specific. just to pronate. It involves much more with what is good but more comfortable with Devon's way 😅👌🏽
@@wsfh777 neither Devon's or Ryan's lift translate to the table by doing them alone, you have to arm wrestle a lot for them to work. And Ill prove it to you, do these lifts only and go to a tournament and see what happens, then do table time only and then go to a tournament and see happens, I guarantee you will do better doing table time. Those lifts only work if you arm wrestle like Devon and Ryan they are advanced arm wrestlers not beginners or amateurs
Why not lower the weight and do your lift parallel? I started out doing Pronation lifts above the thumb, high in the hand, but realized it was the source of major pain in the back of my hand/wrist so I stopped.
I still find your lift easier though, I think it’s because Devon’s taxes the pronation more, and the more your pronation is taxed the harder your bicep has to work.
Finally someone that does the excercise the way that Devon does it. ennetype in the comments claims that having the knot in your hand makes the lift easier, and it might be true, but you are one of the few that does the exact same lift as Devon. Soooo many people on the internet fail to see the difference between Devon's lift and Ermes lift. One guy answered one of my comments on Concrete Elbows video, claiming that it is a pronation lift, so therefore it is the same lift no matter how you perform it. But there is actually a difference between the two.
I don't think you get it correct Mr. Bowen. Your thumb has all the rotational power in your wrist + forearm, and that's the gola for training. Putting strap in front of the thumb is not a gain in terms of training. It is awesome for YT comparison, look my weight is more due to simple physics. But is worse in terms of isolating movement you want to exercise. Your approach also pulls wrist away that you have to counteract, so you are wasting energy to train something you do not want to train on this particular exercise. This is important if you are following certain regime. For yourself maybe it does not matter. I think Devon has different approach.
I think Devon is a bit anatomically different to many arm-wrestlers as well, because his forearm is probably longer than most and therefore the centre of mass is a bit further on his arm with that lift, even though he uses his thumb. Furthermore, he has show that the thumb is almost more important than one's grip-strength, so I still think over the thumb is better training.
John Brzenk seeing all these lifts: ” That’s such BS, just armwrestle” 😂😂
He definitely worked out, that bicep does not grow on you by just armwrestling
@@Sumppa Guess what? It didn’t 😂

Exactly! These lifts don't really make you a better arm wrestler. Actual arm wrestling does...
@@carpenterjim7906 he doesn't workout like you think, why do you think John's left is much smaller than his right.

Devon has inspired so many people with this lift.
First time watching your content in a minute and I clearly noticed significant gains in your form. Good work. Good luck
Ryan Bowen is to armwrestling what Justin Bieber is to fashion.

Devon eluded to only giving away his basic exercises, he still has secrets yet to be revealed.
@@codyschale263 i think main secret is consistency
@@antongron that's part of the equation
Your lift is easier on the pronation. Your arm is a 45 degree angle so it's using half cup, half pronation to hold it.

Yep! That is correct!
Putting it over your hand like your lift is also more dangerous and has a greater chance if spinning out your wrist

U know Devon would say he doesn't hold the strap in his hand because that's holding on.
Yes! Exactly!
Devon was actually turning his wrist over in actual pronation, not straight lift. What Devon did was harder as it’s lifting through probation not arm.
