You can keep your George Clooneys, Brad Pitts, Antonio Banderas, and Leonardo DiCaprios. My ideal man would be Herman Munster! What an adorable character 🥰. I love watching these movies, decades later they are still timeless.🌹👌💗🥰😀💖
Fred Gwynn J'adore! Thank you for being a big part of my life! Love your whole body of work. Thank you for being such a great actor, human being, and the kindest monster/Munster I ever knew!❤😊
Love it! Grandpa's glances at Herman are priceless! Love the lines..."an evening with Pat Boone"..."bundles for Transylvania"..."get down on all fours and thank us".....great stuff!
The "classic nose" sequence may be my favorite Munsters scene of all. I loved this show for its impeccable comedy and sense of family. Thanks for posting this!
When Al Lewis was in his 90s, he was interviewed and he said he’d been in show business for over seventy years, and the two best years of his career was when he worked on “The Munsters”.
What a great show! I met Butch Patrick last summer in Spokane Washington. He was a really cool guy and it was a super night of legends out of the race track.
When I spoke to Butch Patrick He said the whole family was great to work with and very much like a real family to him. He also said that working with grandpa was one of the coolest experiences Of his life
@@mandsadventures6148 I met Al Lewis when I was way younger. He had a restaurant Grandpas Bella Gent And my father and I were in the area. Al Lewis was a wonderfully funny guy and personable. He liked and embraced his Grandpa character for the rest of his life.
Absolutely brilliant. I laughed till tears were trickling down my face. These golden oldie`s are so much better. As this is the first time I`ve seen this one all I can say is THANK YOU! You have my deepest heartfelt thanks.
Herman was a lot like Ralph Kramden and Fred Flintstone, always trying to better himself but never quite succeeding. Btw, they cut the funniest moment from this scene: when Grandpa sharpens Herman's pencil with his teeth!
Herman was NOTHING like Kramden and Flintstone. They were blowhards and bullies always with a scheme. Herman was like a big kid. Very childlike and innocent. Which is a reason why he became a detective. He saw an ad and the thought of it excited him like a little child playing detective. Kramden and Flintstone hated their jobs but Herman LOVED working for Mr. Gateman at the funeral parlor. He never even asked for more money. The only time he asked for a raise was when Lily pushed and bullied him into it and he ends up getting fired for it leaving Lily to go to Mr. Gateman and beg him to give Herman his job back. The only time Herman worked an extra part time job was when he needed money for a special occasion.
@@retroguy9494 You're right about Herman being child-like and innocent. But he also believed in upward mobility. That's why he wanted to be a movie star, wanted to be a pop singer and tried out for the Dodgers.
Love this show. Watched it everytime it was on!!!! I couldn't wait until I got home from school, get a snack, sit down, and watch!!!!!!! 🥀🥀🥀🥀... 2022...
THESE two were GREAT together.... love Grandpa's look as he's watching this.. ha. Hard to believe that GRANDPA was the YOUNGEST of the 3 major adults-- followed by Marilyn.. and of course Eddie. He was actually younger than his DAUGHTER on here!! :)
This is the only reference to Sonny Liston on a TV show I am aware of, and out of curiosity, I checked the date--it aired almost exactly a year after Liston lost the title to Muhammad Ali, but before their rematch of a year and a half later, in which Liston got 'knocked out' in the first round (smart money says he took a dive, for whatever reason). Interesting the writers didn't go with Ali. Liston was by far the more feared puncher (maybe the most-feared in boxing history), and Lily wasn't going to be dancing around Herman, doing a shuffle. Liston was basically seen as a monster in his own right, so it's the right choice. (Hmm--would have been a good date for Marilyn).
How could anyone watch this clip and think that anyone but Fred Gwynne could play Herman Munster. That's why all the copies that came afterward failed.😊❤❤❤
Vampire strength :D. I think Lily > Herman. In many episodes she shows strength that rivals or surpass him ( like this part where she knocks him out with one hit). I think Grandpa is possibly the strongest but mainly because his magical powers and inventions. I don't remember him ever having super strength.
Now if Lily thought about it, how would the agent be able to see Herman's actions upon entering his house 🏠: saw 👀 wife asleep 😴 💤, kissed wife , etc....The agent would not have access to the inside of the house.
Haaa Great episode! Not fond of Lily’s mistrust towards one of the nicest husbands and inhumans ever though! Nice script twist at the end Is there a link to the final segments pls 🙏🏻📺❤️💪🏻⚡️
Isn't he cool? When I was a little boy, I wished he was MY grandfather! What little boy back in the day wouldn't want a cool grandpa who was a vampire, a magician, a sorcerer AND a mad scientist with his own lab in a dungeon who could turn himself into a bat or werewolf whenever he wanted? When I was a little boy, I always could picture Grandpa being married to Granny from The Beverly Hillbillies. She was always "doctorin' folks" and conjuring up spells on people like Miz Drysdale! LOL And making tonics, potions and charms! LOL Even Mrs. Drysdale thought Granny was a witch the first time she saw her! LOL
@@retroguy9494 Ha ha Herman is forgiving all right, thats why in one episode he and Grandpa tried to fix Lilly by making her jealous for working as a model, I have every episode 🤣

A bit of Laurel and Hardy in there lol
They teamed up together on "Car 54 where are you" also! Yes, great comedy team!
They were good in Car 54 as well.
When Al Lewis was in his 90s, he was interviewed and he said he’d been in show business for over seventy years, and the two best years of his career was when he worked on “The Munsters”.
That Sonny Liston remark was one of Lily’s funniest comebacks.
