  • Looking for the best PTZ camera options for church live streaming or video recording? There are a ton of options out there from dirt cheap and bad quality to super expensive with cinematic quality. The "best" for most seems to fall somewhere in between.
    In this video, we're going to compare sample footage of four PTZ camera models that are very popular church cameras. We'll show the example footage, and then put them side-by-side so you can see them in act. Also, we will give an in-depth look at our experience using these cameras.

    We get tons of questions and support calls about "bad audio" in the live stream. Almost every time, it's because there is a clipping volume control somewhere in the audio chain.
    In this video, we take you on a journey (trust me) to figure out how to start at the beginning of the audio chain for each channel and ensure your live stream mix is clear and sounds great.

    This is an excellent video. I really didn’t know much about a PTZ camera for our church. This video really allowed me to spin up quickly

    I would love to know what you guys think of the new OBSBOT Tail Air. We are a small church looking at incorporating PTZ for the first time and they just put that product out in November '23. It's a 4K PTZ Camera that puts out mini-HDMI and is NDI capable. And at $500 each it is significantly more affordable than going even the cheapest PTZ Optics route. I'm trying to find out whether a used sub-optimal PTZ Optics would be preferable for increased low-light performance or whether the Tail Air would let in enough light to be usable in a modern portable church environment (meeting in a school with a well-lit stage). If the Tail Air could let in enough light, the AI tracking feature would be a huge benefit to us. Any thoughts?

    I have two of the PTZ Optics 30x NDI, and oddly the edges have a halo effect around all objects, so for instance it looks like their is an offset ghost on the outside edge of people and objects when they are close to the edge of the frame. I’m not sure if it’s a glass or coating problem, but their support wasn’t helpful even after sending screenshots. I have no idea what two cameras had the exact same issue, but they state they have never seen it before. 🤔

    So i am looking at using the PTZ Optics Cameras for our church. We want to have 1 up in the booth (probably 110 ft from the stage) and then one off to the side maybe 20 or 30 feet from the stage. Would these be good to consider? Trying to decide between these or using 4k mirrorless cameras. We are currently using a Sony Camcorder.

    • @ChurchSetup
      @ChurchSetup  11 місяців тому

      That's a tough decision... the pros of the mirrorless cameras are the cinematic image quality, the cons are the control requires human or they are static. The pros of PTZ is the control, the fact they disappear from view pretty much, and can all be controlled by a single person.
      If you want cinematic looks, mirrorless is the way.
      If you want broadcast looks, and control, PTZ is the way.
      If you were thinking of static shots (no camera operators) for all three areas, mirrorless will work. If you want control, you could put a PTZ in the middle, and static cams on the side... or vice versa.
      Either way, there is no right and wrong choice - only right and more right depending on your creative preferences and budget.

      @@ChurchSetup thanks for the reply! I greatly appreciate it. What kind of image quality degradation would there be using the PTZ Camera from the booth being pretty zoomed in? Would it be pixelated or have a good quality image?

    What camera is best for low lights

    • @ChurchSetup
      @ChurchSetup  6 місяців тому

      That's hard to answer because it depends on so many factors. The sensor in the camera is what makes the difference in low-light. And the camera price is usually higher the better quality sensor. So the easy answer is, get the best camera with the largest sensor possible for the budget you can spend on it.
      However, there are also other factors as well, a large sensor from a Chinese knock-off brand on Amazon won't perform as well as a smaller sensor from a real provider, like Sony. So, I would make sure to limit my choices to actual companies, not from the hundreds of brands you find on Amazon or wish.com for cheap.

    What's the distance of the cameras from the subject in the side by side comparison?

    • @ChurchSetup
      @ChurchSetup  11 місяців тому +1

      Great question! They are at different lengths... but they are all 20-40 feet away. The straight on view is 40-45 feet, the side views are around 20-25ft.
      Hope that helps.

      @@ChurchSetup Im also curious to know how the Ptz optics 4k 20x would do at around 60ft. away. Have you tested the 20x at this distance?

    • @ChurchSetup
      @ChurchSetup  11 місяців тому +1

      As long as you don't use the digital zoom, the quality is the same all the way through the zoom, because it's optical. The only thing to consider beyond that is, how tight of a frame do you get at that distance? At 60', fully zoomed in, the 20X will get about a 4ft frame.
      If it was me, at that distance, I would go with the 30X.

    So why no include the birddog p200 in this comparison

    • @ChurchSetup
