Excellent message Pastor. I too have battled anxiety and panic attacks and for many years felt so guilty. But the Lord has taken me on a joy filled journey into His Presence, and I know that when I am remaining close to Him and praying about everything I am less anxious. So, I wholeheartedly agree that anxiety is an invitation to draw near to God. Your sermon brought to mind this quote that I've held on to for many years.
Happiness is about present circumstances; I’m happy when things are going well.
Joy is about history-a struggle endured, a deliverance revealed; a heart broken, a promise kept.
Happiness is an incident.
Joy is a story.
Happiness is the goal of human desire to overcome pain.
Joy is the byproduct of God’s desire to use the natural pains of life to draw you to Himself. That’s how He reveals and fulfills your destiny. Joy may blossom in laughter, but it germinates in sadness.

I cry in church in secret but then I feel like I’m being judged like I if did something terribly wrong and I hate sympathy I don’t feel free to be open like I use to either because then I feel like a constant stepping stone and hot topic for leaders to use and I really don’t like that attention.

Bryan. I am very sorry you are experiencing that, this inside. My friend, I want to thank you for being open and vulnerable even now. I want you to know that a REAL church a church that is following after Christ is a church where you can let others in and let others know you are suffering and they can come around you and make you feel safe. That's what the church is supposed to be.
Lord, thank you for Bryan and his willingness to be transparent. Father, I pray that you will meet him where he needs you. Help Sandals Church to be of support to him and that he would not feel judged. You are his true security and I pray he would find that in you. In Jesus name...Amen!
Paul said it’s better to brag about our weakness but honestly don’t think so
it’s better not be vulnerable because if your successful people who envy you will use it to their advantage. Plus women will use it when they want something. Like if I’ a
singing a hm and start to cry start telling everyone if I’m okay because I am jus felt beautiful to sing but whatever I prayed about it a thousand times that I can’t take it I’m successful and emotional and use to be a people pleaser because I felt guilty for be successful like im self centered for saying no. It’s okay I learn my lesson over and over again never be vulnerable with church or family only with two best friends.
