This is an improvement with the black guards, I have never been too keen on a lot of chrome. I had a Velocette with a red and chrome tank, and red mudguards, black frame. Very nice. 😊👍🏍
yeah i might rub out a few bits and give those guards a more weathered look...lol
I love chrome. And bright unpainted aluminum, and bright colored paint. I have an orange and white H-D Sportster 1200L that came with a lot of chrome to begin with, and I added quite a bit more. I also have a Royal Enfield Bullet 500 in dark Forest Green. I'm seriously considering painting it silver to brighten it up a bit. I was going to get a red/chrome Classic 350, but I discovered the seat was considerably higher than the one on my Bullet 500, and I can just barely get on that. Here in the U.S. the MSRP on a red/chrome 350 is $4,799.00, it's about $7200 OTD.
they are out the door here for $8800 but start at around $8000
Gives it completely different look
I do like this halcyon grey suits it
great to hear. all the best!
Thanks for the comparison, Warro. Of the two, with the black guards I personally prefer the red tank, rather than the halcyon blue. But perhaps that down to me being the age that I am (in 12 months time I'll be in my 80th year) and remembering back to the days of my youth! 😊
great news on the heading towards the 80 year mark. on the tank side i'm sort of undecided now which direction to go.on the other hand tyre choice is very good
all the berst!
I recently turned 65, and I grew up with brightly colored bikes with lots of chrome and bright aluminum. I totally don't get the flat black thing. But it's definitely not for me.
@@geraldscott4302 this move is more to protect my red/chrome from dirt road damage and once i feel ive had enough i can switch back to original colour and ride on.
the red/chrome side does look good
@@geraldscott4302 I can relate. I had a new Skygo Earl Classic in Philippines in 2022 that had flat black on the exhaust, with a chrome finisher on the peashooter-style muffler. Engine casings were gloss black. Fortunately, my '05 Guzzi is satisfyingly old-school. 😊
Have to say Warro that this tank suits the black mudguards better than the red chrome tank did. Great looking bike.
thanks...nothing like experimentation...lol
@@ridewithwarro It`s the only way to find what you like best. 👍
I'm liking this tank more for off road use. Looks the part more without chrome on the tank. The black on it blends in with the mud guards better. I'd not paint the mudguards. I think the bits as is all blend well together perfect.
sounds a good idea to me. all the best!
Looks great! If you're doing more off-road, I'd say keep the guards in matte.
yeah i can guarantee its going off road so no issues there.
I also own a classic 350 Halcyon Grey - best colour in MHO
but I think the red tank looks more striking with the all black.( gloss)
Reminds me of a red back spider - tc mate !
got a few of those red backs in the bird aviary, can handle them with no issues unlike those tan wiggle sticks...lol
Looks great with the grey tank
i think its ok too. all the best!
All so looks good with them mirrors - lower profile sit lower down.
Better than the - reach for the sky - stock mirrors
Gives the bike a lower profile - tc mate!
yeah i like those enfield touring mirrors. fully adjustable too in various positions. all the best!
It's great what you've done there! The halcyon grey tank gives it the classic feel but it's balanced out by the matt black fenders that tempers it with a more contemporary vibe. If they sold it like this I'd be tempted! Where I live we only have two colour choices - halcyon green or black! Quick question : where did you get the rear rack from? I really prefer the single seater look but I'd need that practicality.
grab one off ebay from india. pretty cheap too so very good value. heaps of vendors have them listed
It's almost like a pair of mud runners for the happy couple.
2 Enfield's are better than none.
The back rack has character warrior, much like the headlight eyebrow.
Sugar the little rack on my Himalayan is half the size of the one on your 350 and I have strapped on 22" kick drum heads with no problem.
yeah you could say that. its the best of both worlds. all the best!
Thats the business Warro.
Scrambler 350Classic like what people did to bikes back in the 50-70's when roads & driveways were crap.
thanks. that shows both sides of the 350 saga...lol
Great combination of halcyon grey tank with matt black mudguards Warro. Look forward to seeing the Suzuki with new footware.
suzuki is looking good with the mods like crash bars/sump guard rear calliers and rack. have not fitted the bar risers yet but i think the new tread will look the part on it
Thanks for the video Warro.
IMO red carries the day, but the gray looks good too.
Gloss black fenders with the red tank is a great idea, would look great.
Cheers
will see how this pans out. all the best!
I like both tanks.
yeah its a coin toss. maybe the red chrome is a bit ahead or more blingy...lol all the best!
Awesome... I loved my halcyon grey. So I'm biased in that sense. But I'd have to admit I think the red pops more than the grey. Thanks for sharing..
Fair enough!
I like both tanks but the red one looks more classic to me. I think perhaps the red allows it to look classic whilst the grey seems to make it look like a bike that is a bit of everything thrown together to keep it going almost like a agriculture bike. Great video Warro.👍👌☮️
yeah i actually like the thrown together look of the bike now that its 8 months young...lol
I had a good feeling that you would…lol
Both Classic colons look good, me I think that Tank goes better with the more rugged looking mods you have done.
yeah i think so too. looking like an older bike than it really is.all the best!
I like the gray tank with the painted fenders.
The chrome models look best with chrome fenders.
Good looking motorcycle either way 😊.
How'd you get the front fender off btw? I tried once but found it could be done only with the wheel assembly off. Thanks, good work as always.
left the wheel on. undone the 4 screws and 2 bolts to lift the mudguard up and then turned it to left side and worked it out
@@ridewithwarro thanks
I dislike the halcyon grey color but with just the tank with black mudguards it looks pretty good.
not as loud as the red/chrome look but still looks ok.
I'm a fan of both the tank colours but tip towards your original halcyon grey 👍🙂🇬🇧🏍
always liked the halcyon.all the best
you could have kept the blue one... and just sprayed those guards black.... all part of the fun i suppose....can you include more classic Australian scenery its alot more interesting for me here in uk..
id like to see you with a coffee in a classic truckstop perhaps if you have any near you... nice one
well i have the bridle track clip coming up next that has plenty of bush scenes and drone shots. plus i plan to do more off road dirt track solo runs shortly. probably do a coffee boil on the run too.
no real truck stops where i am
Actually Warro, now looking at both colour ways, they both look fantastic 👌
I spy with my old crooked eyes… new gold rear shock suspension😎
A report is in order🫡
Cheers🇦🇺🤙
LOL
There's a lot to unpack here, Warro. It seems pretty obvious that you prefer the red chrome tank on it (based on the length of the footage of it), and I agree that it's prettier with that tank, but the Halcyon tank looks more appropriate on the bike with the way it's set up. I still miss your original Halcyon Gray bike, and still don't understand why you sold it; it seems that you don't understand it, either. Also, I noticed that your shifter seems to be mounted with the heel part pretty low. I have the heel and toe shifter on my Classic and originally mounted it at about the same level, but found it unnaturally difficult to upshift with my heel. Do you move your foot back to upshift? I'm asking because since I repositioned it to make upshifting easier I have to put forth an effort to not rest my heel on the shifter. I might even go back to the stock shifter. Thank you for the video!
i never ride with my foot on the heel and toe shifter as i dont like that idea much but some do. so when riding i just move my foot into position.
lots of people don't like the heel and toe and i was one of those...lol well a long time back but like it now.
the footage was shorter on this clip and reason being one not much i could say as id only done a tank swap and two i checked my first clip which ran 9 minutes and got a pathetic 1.50 sec view time so i thought..F..it!
I noticed that you have changed the rear shocks when you changed the tank. Is that in an upcoming video?
i tried those shocks on 3 different ride heights and decided the stocks were better.
Hi
Could u please tell me where did u get those mirrors
Thanks
factory touring mirrors off royal enfield or via ebay
If it were my bike, I would use my least favourite colour (grey) while riding the dirt tracks and save the original red tank and guards in pristine condition. If you do drop it on gravel or mud, best that it is not your favourite tank that cops it.
i think your spot on there with your thoughts on this. especially when i do run the dirt a fair bit...lol
that way i do have the full set of chrome in mint condition.
all the best!
Red/chrome is much more to my liking. Just another opinion.
lucky i am covered both ways there...all the best!
I like Halcyon Grey alit better Warro.
Bloody cold 🥶 here -2° frost this morning & had fireplace 🔥 going.
thats getting a bit cool...lol then again it will be low in temp here in a month or so. all the best!
Worro, I think you should paint the guards, side covers, nascel and fork shrouds Halcyon Gary..😂
thanks...lol but sounds like a fair bit of work. not impossible but a bit of work there.
