- Presenting ‘ജനനീ ജഗമോക്കെക്കും നീയേ ...Malayalam version of Agni Parthene Original Song , A Greek Orthodox Sacred Chant to Holy VIrgin Mary
Agni Partene is a Greek Genre, a holy chant used in Greek Orthodox Churches during the time of intercession to Holy Virgin Mary. Being nothing, I was fortunate to compile an orchestration and harmony for the same chant to venerate her holy name. Inspired by a Greek Orthodox Priest/ Singer Fr. Kubarnakos NIkodimos, I could utilise this hymn for the Psalmos Symphonia
When I requested Fr. Biju Mathew, Pulickal, ( affectionately known as Pulickalachen), who is a well known lyricist in MOC has most graciously agreed to write a Malayalam version also in this session. Seeking the prayers of the Holy Mother, I started making this hymn and God Almighty has given the opportunity to present this for the Symphony event En-Christos for the first of its kind in MOC, organised by St Marys Orthodox Valiyapalli , Vakayar .

This song is softer it seems than its counterpart in other languages. I miss the heavier down beat through much of the song but on the other hand it has a subtlety that is very light that encourages you to be light as well -- the voice of the singer when he switched to Greek was magical. I feel like I could feel that as I am more used to hearing it in Greek, but wonderful song and performance all in all. Feels like there is more to get to know here.

I don't know if the Chalcedonians have a communion with the Byzantine church but this is a Byzantine Greek orthodox hymn from the 19th century - Agni Parthene

The byzantine Church is Chalcedonian. Catholics, Byzantine Orthodox and Assyrian Church are Chalcedonian.
Oriental Orthodox are non-Chalcedonians.
