The only appreciable thing about this performance is Malmsteen's fitness form ...the rest is pure BORING USELESS MUSIC only good for the useless guitar players that likes to masturbate their guitars (or dreaming about to do it) . One minute of The Edge... Nile rodgers...Andy Summers etc.... worth the entire Malmsteen's career.

When I saw him @House of Blue Chicago over/around 10 years ago he had so much smoke we could barely see him. It was like a Spinal Tap joke. Glad to see he toned down the smoke.
He STILL manages to send chills throughout my body. From the 1990's to the Present Day, this is what happens to me when I hear him play. That Guitar becomes an extension of him, sharing one heartbeat. I'm always in Awe of him!!🤘🏻
Ever hear Michael Romeo from Symphony X? If not.. I HIGHLY recommend it. Michael is a LOT deeper than Yngwie ever was... and can easily match Yngwie's speed, while saying so much more. Yngwie can shred for sure, but he constantly wails in everything he does while playing the same 5 licks. But I admit, when I first heard him in Alcatrazz in '83, I was very impressed and had to learn some of what he did on guitar. He did kind of start neo classical metal and shred guitar... I'll give him that. IMO, Yngwie was at his best in the early years. I've seen him twice. Oh...and I can drop a LOT of names of guys that can shred as long as they like, while staying very musical and interesting, but they're in a variety of styles.

I really dig that he's willing to just go off in whatever direction he wants with his music live. It's not only a fresh take with each concert, but it's just shocking to know that he improvises with that level of intensity. Awesome is the word.
I'm willing to bet only 1 of those Marshall heads and maybe 1 or 2 of the cabinets you see on that stage are actually plugged in and pushing sound. If that whole backline was plugged in, the sheer volume would blow open the back doors of the venue and probably trip a shitload of electric breaker switches, eventually causing a power outage. Credit to Yngwie's road crew for setting up an impressive-looking array of amps to give the illusion of hugeness.
Yeah, most of them are off, you can see it pretty clearly. However, I'm sure some are on standby, dialed and patched in, so his tech can drop it immediately if one of the main amps goes out.

I suppose you did not film/record the DIO MEMORIAL SHOWS somewhere? I went to Zoetermeer and security seemed prone to filter out people with real equipment.Weird, because people with very expensive I Phones just got tru and I was stuck with my limited non expensive older camera with bad zoom.
Yngwie is the best but every time I see a live video I feel bad for his roadie's having to set up the wall of Marshalls. But I guess it's really just a part of his stage the same way other acts have ramps, risers, and backdrops.

My favourite Yngwie songs are "Rising Force" and "You don't remember, I'll never forget", he ruined both by overplaying all the fucking time. And his guitar is waaay too loud in the mix. The whole Marshall stack wall is just ridiculous. The ego on this man is just insane.

And worse that Yngwie expects people to pay good money to watch him prance around on stage like a drunk unicorn butchering his parts. Time to make guitar clinics a full time gig..

I'm not a big fan of either guy, but Vai is very, very different. Val's music has far more variety to it than Malmsteen's, and much more musicality. They have very little in common. They're both rock guitarists; that's about it.
