There are many extinct creatures that are literally just bigger sometimes more exagerated versions of modern creatures. eg Megalodon is bigger bulkier Great white, Titanoboa is Boa with more teeth, Megalainia is just big Monitor with komodo proportions. Deinosuchus is big alligator, Purusaurus is big Caiman, Sarcosuchus is big Crocodile. Mamoth is big hairy Elephant, ect.
Green Iguanas are not 2 meters long, they’re not even close the average Iguana is between 30 cm - 42 cm, Iguanas can reach the maximum length of 1.7 cm counting head to tail but larger than that is rare
